Remains

Very satisfying for an early access game. I have just a little over 24 hours into the game and highly recommend joining the discord to search for solutions/answers to some basic how-to’s in early game.

Like commented elsewhere, the gameplay is very raft-in-space. I like the story-line and blackbox gigs as the early access campaign pre-cursor. Good mechanics IMHO and I have yet to run into any serious bugs. In the current release there is a items-stop-spawning issue that is easily remedied by save-exit-load game.

Ok so Im gonna start off by saying, Yes this is LIKE Raft. we all know that raft has shaped the open world survival craft genre. but Remains has similarity’s to Desert Skies and subnautica and Void Train. i have spent 2 hour trying to decide if this game is just a lame reskin or a game all its own and im leaning twords the second option. I am glad that its only 6 buck cause there is not much content. but im very very happy with it so far and im eger for more updates. this is really gonna be a game to follow! now time for the negative……..and its 3 words, IN.GAME.TUTORIAL! there is not help on how to play the game! you just get dropped in and kinda have to figure it out on your own. if a basic tutorial was added it would clear up major struggles and confusion. but thats really my only issue. now that im done writing this imma go play this some more! Cheers!

Notice: A lot of reviews are poor about this game because it is early access and people don’t bother to read that they’re buying an unfinished game. Actually READ what people have to say and don’t be taken in by metascores.

Notice: This is going to be detailed, so if your not into that skip to the next review, you have been warned!

Take on Mars - a game designed with a single purpose in mind - explore, and eventually colonize Mars.

Take On Mars - A Survival Game unlike any you’ve played. There are no enemies here except nature herself, but she a fierce one. Even without her Pets - Take on Mars is proof positive space travel is dangerous

SECOND REVIEW:

I am now updating this review to reflect the launch update and information that i found due to the comments made by Mr. Monochrome and INFIDEL in the comments below. I admit changes have been made and the game up to the point i have progressed to is working, that being said i still beleive this game needs alot more work in that the tutorials are incomplete as far as explaining all you need to know when it comes to the machines, the mission objectives are poorly worded and easily misinterpreted, and still no guidance in game on how to complete the unmanned missions and still make money. This game is frustrating and i personally believe that most gamers will lose interest due to this fact in very little time.

A pretty decent game I’d say. Got it during a big sale so the price is okay. The graphic is not bad though. It’s like looking under the microscope, watching viruses and immune system fight each other in a cool fun way. In the past I only read it from biology textbooks and had to imagine how things play out. The game has 3 types of virus, 30 levels (6 stages) and about 16 different upgrades available. Strangely, is it just me or is the way infected cells pop and explode to unleash viruses has a satisfying feel to it. Hmmm….

Pestis

Pestis

This is a really good game, the best game I ever bought on steam for less than 50 cents. The concept is awesome and executed very well with the atmosphere and the theme it all just sort of gets you into the mood of the game and collecting herbs to make and mix potions is just really fun and interesting and there is so many ways to go about how you play the game from saving everyone, killing everyone, killing rats and making bombs to destroy their nest healing your self with potions and eating shrooms to stave off the plague and death. Just all around a cool indie game that you can play on a potato pc or even a calculator and its so cheap and so affordable how can you not get this game? The steam achievements are easy to get and look cool to.

Real player with 3.0 hrs in game

Pestis would be a decent high-score game if it had leaderboards and more maps. Right now it has 1 map and 6 relatively easy achievements, hardly any reason to play it for more than 30 minutes. I think the artwork and animation are decent for what it is. You play as a plague doctor that is trying to cure a small village, and the game certainly captures that sinister atmosphere. The gameplay incorporates the potion mixing mechanic, although the system is very basic. There is some potential for improving your resource management, but without leaderboards I don’t see the appeal. I think if the developer can add at least 2 more locations it would be serviceable (urban area and catacombs perhaps?). It has a partial support for controller despite not being listed on the store page. My F310 works fine, but you can’t rebind it from default state.

Needs more development time and testing alot of stuff only half works and the inventory system needs alot of work. They need to change the inventory system as well as change the way your character gets energy replenished, it is currently too tedious to eat/drink. Cannot recommend this game, especially at that price. I see what they were going for and it is a cool concept, but for the price there is much better games for the same if not cheaper. I would like to recommend this game and give a good review, but in its current state I cannot. Hopefully it will get better and I think they should take ideas from games like Space Engineers on how to execute this games functions much better. For now this review will remain negative until much needed improvements are made.

Size Matters

Size Matters

In Size Matters, the premise is that you are a scientist who has accidentally dumped shrinking formula on themselves in a lab accident. In practice, however, this is wholly irrelevant save for the “setting” of the areas.

The game is all about the mechanics. You start out large, but as the game goes on, you get progressively smaller and smaller. There are several pieces of lab equipment on benches around the lab, beakers of various chemicals, and notes – both written on the walls and on notepads – which contain instructions as to what chemicals you must combine, microwave, mix with water, or process through a machine that requires processing codes.

Real player with 470.4 hrs in game

The main concept of Size Matters puts you in the shoes like some kinda mad Scientist dashing around a lab attempting to use different pieces of apparatus on ingredients to process, code, revert, restore, pour, microwave all to find the Antidote to stop you shrinking!!!

To help you along, you search for ingredients & information Notepads scattered about the lab. Each Notepad has a formula of some kind written upon it. Putting all this together plus wall board notes creates a chain of actions needed to be performed. Its then a process of elimination which you can follow up to a point until you arrive at the last prefinal ingredients. These prefinal ingredients conclude you to create the final Key ingredients 1, 2 & 3. You then put them into the Antidote Producer to produce the Antidote - grow to normal size & complete the game within the chosen time frame…… Got all tha? Good. Straight forward, simple, huh? ….. WRONG!!!!

Honeycomb

Honeycomb

Day by day, technological progress changes not only the lives of people, but also the smallest life forms on our planet. In our project, we would like to direct your attention to a very important issue of our times - the extinction of wild bees, which despite their tiny size, has a huge impact on the entire Earth’s ecosystem.

Greetings explorer! You are going to spend quite some time in the laboratory - don’t forget to go on a research expedition into the unknown. A world full of exploration, building and crafting awaits you!

You are the last hope of Earthlings.

Research both flora and fauna - standard scanning is not enough. Explore the world of genetics and experiment with various possibilities to even create a new plant genera. Mutating plants and species promotes new raw material discoveries and blueprints. Experiment to master new technologies and settle your base in new environments.

This new world can be beautiful but dangerous as well - an undiscovered fruit or a contact with previously unknown, even the most innocuous-looking animals can provoke a disease, for which you’ll have to invent a cure. Some of them are tamable, some can only be feared and fled from - there is only one way to find out.

For optimal productivity, an explorer’s life has to be comfortable! Take care of your “workplace”, create the needed conditions by yourself and even decorate your base. Build drones, mobile laboratories, habitat, and research stations. Don’t stop there - create multiple stations in optimal locations, safety, weather or raw material wise, and ensure safe travel between them - hoverboard is the best way to start.

The planet stores the secret key that may help you in saving the earth and its inhabitants. Remember! It is up to you how you use that knowledge.

In The Long Run The Game

In The Long Run The Game

Sincerely i was a bit scared by other reviews but the game, at this date, seems not so scary to play and also character controls could be better (no keybindings).

There was a bug preventing me to create a new character but, after reporting it the dev(s) fixed the game in a few hours. I suggest the dev(s) to work on overall usability and to add more items and more things to do. I’d say 6/10 at the moment but I will change my opinion if the game changes.

Real player with 12.9 hrs in game

I only write reviews in extreme cases. Right now the controls and menus seem like a joke. Everything about the game seems to be designed to make it completely unbearable to play. For instance, when you are mining, the character is heaving as though he is drunk and about to pass out. Since the mining ray is attached to a backpack it is constantly moving up and down and it is very difficult to perform what is supposed to be a very basic and simple task.

Some things should be simple and predictable. What the devs have done is like if you would design a car with the gear shift where the steering wheel goes, the steering wheel where the gear shift goes, and the gas pedal in the glove box. The major challenge in the game is finding the gas pedal.
