Last Days Of Tascaria
Disclaimer: I personally know part of the team behind the game.
The game is a party-based roguelike (up to 4 characters) that features two different gameplay layers. One strategic, where you advance through different types of randomly generated regions composed of locations and one tactical, where the combat is resolved.
The Journey
At the strategic level, to get to the next region you have to reach the portal location. In your way you will be hard pressed to make choices: you are in the way of a horde of orcs making time a luxury you don’t have.

I found it fun and engaging, specially the combat.
I’m a big fan of “Choose your own adventure games” and I really like how they integrated this genre with a very tactical combat.
I got this game in Early Access and I’ve seen how devs have enhanced things I complaint about, like polishing the story or improving music during combats.
Pros:
-
Your decisions change the game
-
Replayability
-
Combination of attacks during combats
Cons:
- I’d like to be able to pick the other existing characters to start the game

GYATM Dragon Edition
The team at Indie Imprint got me a copy to review on stream and it turned out to be a blast! Had a great time playing the game. We played for three hours and managed to win the game, not once, but twice AND got lucky enough to see both winning endings. An indie game with multiple endings, plenty of challenge and entertainment value. It was cool trying to beat my time to completion once i figured out how to win. At the same time, I also lost the game in some pretty entertaining ways. So, even when you lose, the game still offers a lof of fun. Definitely enjoy it, and you will too! :)

A really entertaining little game with excellent graphics, sound track and playability. The value is well beyond the price. I look forward to this growing into a larger, more complex game in the future (probably when Elon Musk gets to Mars), but for now its oodles of fun.
btw the devs posted it as requiring Windows 10 minimum, but I find it works dandy on Windows 7.

Defence to death
Definitely only worth picking up when it is a 1.00 or less…and ONLY if you are wanting the achievements and cards.
Although I think the ability to click (fast) on enemies to kill them, and click (fast) on the mine to get more currency to spend to build towers, are really great ideas, there are only 3 actual levels that are reused over and over, only 4 towers to build, and only 2 towers you will actually use. You earn money at the end of each level, that you can spend on 3 upgrades per tower.
It’s a pretty easy, but very boring grind.

Defence to Death is another lazy asset flip from Laush Studio. They’ve taken a basic Unity template for a TD game, changed around a few things, didn’t bother with polishing it or testing it much, and dumped it on Steam for a comical $6.
I’d go on about how asset flips are bad but this is just garbage. Everything is clunky, no support for higher resolution monitors, balancing the game was something developers had heard about and will probably think about doing one day maybe on their next game. It’s just trash.

I would first like to note that this review comes from a free-key that was provided by the developer in exchange for late beta feedback and/or a promised review and they get both out of me, though the fact that the game was free in no way sways my review.
Though never reviewed by me, I have put many hours into the initial Survival Squad and though it had and still has a few quirky behavioral bugs, for the most part it is a solid game that is well worth playing, but this is not a review of the original, but of the second game: Gauntlets.

SimPocalypse
UI has an unusal design to help increase the options for the massive number-growth generator applications that all idle-clickers are.
The demand for input from you as a player feels obstructive at a fair bit of time and the techs that allow you to automate yourself away are not clearly advertised with the tech tree being ‘shrouded’. This can add some frustration.
There is little else to add, the combat is mostly for show - my own ‘35K force’ tank brigade does not take any damage at all anymore when facing supposedly superior forces and development of my faction has pretty much gone to a standstill for the past 5 hours while I’m tabbed out letting the auto-combat handle conquering everything.

This is a ‘yes, but’ review, so. If you’re skimming, pass this one up. If you’re interested in details on why this MIGHT be for you, read on.
So. This is one of those compelling semi-idle games where you fundamentally click things on spreadsheets to make the numbers go up until you literally take over the world. And that’s pretty fun! However.
For the random store browser, there’s not much more to it than that, and I think there’s a lot of room to be disappointed with your purchase.
For people who enjoy the semi-idle thing…?

XO
(I backed this game on Kickstarter, and helped out with alpha and beta testing…)
XO has a lovely mix of tactics and strategy within a relatively short three to five hour game run. But learning XO well enough to survive that final run will take you much longer. It’s a game to be played many times as you learn more about the ships, the factions, the enemies, weapons and circumstances. Each time you’ll learn how to survive longer, how to make better use of the ships, systems and resources you encountered, and how to better choose through the event paths in order to win faction allies as you go.

I’ll split this review to what I enjoyed and what I did not.
What I enjoyed
-
You really get the feeling of trying to build together a rag-tag fleet of military and civilian ships, fleeing away from a seemingly unstoppable enemy while building up your arsenal, firepower and the capacity to support your fleet. Awesome feeling. :)
-
Lots of interesting concepts, boarding, resource harvesting, different kinds of weapons to counter different enemies. Really enjoyed different weapons, upgrades, ship types, keeping civilians in cargo holds (then performing a crew transfer to abandoned/disabled ships) and the ability build up my fleet. :D

Starship Theory
I felt a review was needed in response to the volume of negative reviews.
Early Access and Learning Curves.
‘So far, so good’ would have to be the short version.
As stated many times before by other reviewers, Rimworld and FTL…. Bla Bla… Yes i agree, so lets skip. Insert generic dismissal of bugs and technical glithces due to Early Access state here…. Again, I agree. SKIP. But…
Known bugs i have encountered and how I roundabout:
1. FIRE! A Danger that needs no explination. AI is AI, so, Skip.

I’ve tried really hard to like this game, as I play simlar, like Prison Architect.
Firstly, the UI: it’s nice, easy to navigate through, and most importantly, scaleable. It’s also pleasant that you can change the colour - yes I know, it’s a gimmick really, but having a purple UI is pleasing!
Secondly, fires: these can quickly become a thorn in your side, even with adequate cooling. The mechanics behind how your sims fight them is flawed as instead of one sim fighting all the fires in one area, the game will send multiple sims to fire each individual fire in the same area, which can mean that some grow to the point where they’re close to compromising the structural integrety of the ship. Now, there is a manual mode that allows you to control sims, but when you’re navigating an asteroid field, while being pewpewd, there are things you don’t want to micromanage, and damage control is one of them.

They Are Billions
I have finish playing the campaign and its a learning process. This game is like a soul like RTS game, one zombie gets in or penetrate your defenses and the whole thing could get out of control. I understand on why some gamers gave a negative review of these game, you could have invested 2 to 4 hours in your campaign or survival building your city and thenone zombie sneaks in or overwhelm your defenses and the whole thing is game over. It has no backward save, so there is no second opportunity on your mistake. I know because it did happen to me several times, but I think its unfair to immediately give a negative review, because of being defeated. The hero mission on the campaign is actually good, but it takes patience and planning, also paying attention, so you can find all the treasure. Overall, I find the game very challenging, but in a reasonable matter. Its just you have to get good in playing this game.

Tedious and frustrating don’t even begin to describe this game.
I’ve tried playing this game several times. Each time I have, I find that my hours of investment are promptly wasted when I make one mistake that leads to an inevitable game over. This game is very very difficult, even on the more “accessible” levels; you have to balance manpower, energy, food, and material resources all while slowly expanding, and clearing out areas of zombies. The problem is that if even one zombie slips past your defenses they can infect your entire base in seconds.

03.04
DYSTOPIAN MERRY-GO-ROUND
Even though a game’s flaws shouldn’t be overlooked on the account of how it was made, in this case it’s vital to begin by saying that 03.04 was created by only one person. This is key to understand and appreciate this game, which I can happily recommend.
Developed by Ivanov Mikhail a.k.a. JPEG of Pain, what struck me the most was the atmosphere, definitely its strong suit. Quite a bleak one at that, accomplished by keeping things simple, instead of the cynical, convoluted mess that most horror games fall into when trying too hard to be hip. The music by ApatiaKrai takes that cue and follows along with a very disturbing yet satisfying soundtrack.

If you’re a fan of old school survival horror where resource management and combat were a challenge, this may be exactly what you’re looking for.
Admittedly, I am bad at all games. Even says so on my profile. :P
I couldn’t get all the way to the end in this just yet. This reminds me of the old horror survivor games where you had to restart a few times because you want to manage your bullets or health boosts better. The game gets more fun as you improve because it’s really challenging.
Have I mentioned the puzzles yet? There are puzzles that are a little tricky, but once you get used to how the game is played they get a lot easier. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the messages on the cell phone that would pop up. Sometimes they were helpful, other times they would make me roll my eyes. :P
