This is one of the few games made by this developer that i actually kinda like. Yes, It is short but it’s interesting, So for me that makes up for its short Gameplay. The 2nd ending also makes that up cause i can play it a 2nd time with something different, However, While the game runs fine on my laptop at ultra graphics, It needs just tiny bit more optimization, You will know this when you encounter the possessed ford escort (The rally car that attempts to kill you). When the car smashes into the train car’s doorway, The performance of the game will slightly decrease for 1 second after the car hits the doorway. Once this game is updated to be optimized a bit more i will change my review from a not recommended to a recommended.

Interesting concept, but this game is too short and pricey for this quality.

I wish the train would have expanded into wilder designs, however the vehicle attack was cool. One of the other bad features of this game is saving! You have to find cigarettes and give them to a ghost all the way near the beginning of the game.

I want to recommend this game but I can’t due to it’s length and a few other average features.

Nice attempt though.

Lights Camera Slaughter

Play as Drew Williams, a newly hired intern working on the set of Jonny Slash’s “Lights, Camera, Slaughter!”, a 90’s low budget slasher film in Masten Lake. Just got the game, I got it while working at the VR Atelier Amsterdam, where we played various games. I like it a lot. Especially the disc throwing, it feels great! I also like the retro wave vibe.

the music is chill, the game looks easy but dont be deceived lots of aiming and trying to hit those targets. I like that you can pick different levels and they are either harder or easier than the last level.

for the price its a good buy. You will get a lot of play time out of this.

Highrisers

Highrisers

This is a maybe for me, not an actual yes. Yet. The core concept is amazing, the art style is great, and there is real ingenuity here. People complain it needs more tutorial and I disagree. However, it needs pause, the ability to queue orders, and more depth and sense in the skill system.

I really want this game to be good. It’s such an interesting concept, and fun when it’s parts come together. I’ve played 95 hours in it not just because my ADHD has me randomly focused on it right now. It is genuinely engaging. It needs a few things and once it has them this simple title could be one of my all time favs.

I normally don’t write reviews, but in this case i wanted to make one, because i think the game is underrated.

Highrisers is a nice looking pixel style survival game. The goal of the game is to repair your helicopter to get off a skyscraper on which you crash landed. In order to repair your heli you search the building from top to bottom for usable materials. Everything you find can be dismantled and the materials gained from it can be used to craft a huge variety of weapons and other useful things (most of it needs to be unlocked first by leveling your 4 characters).

Bullet Wave

Bullet Wave

Even though it’s short and quite buggy, Bullet Wave is a fun way to kill half an hour. I’ve played it for about twice that, 58 minutes to be exact, and I don’t really plan to go back to it anytime soon, but considering it’s only a dollar, why wouldn’t you try it?

Pretty good for what it is. Short, fun to play. Could use a few fixes here and there but other than that it’s not bad. The boss is a little too tanky in my opinon but other than that it’s good.

Murder House

Murder House

From start to finish I knew I was going to love this game. At first it was just the pure novelty of a game that looked like something I’d watch an older family member play through while hiding behind a blanket as a kid. It only took a few minutes into actually playing the game to realize it would in fact make me FEEL like that kid too. The primitive textures and models give off such a familiar yet uncanny feeling. There’s so many horror games that look “conventionally” better than this, so why am I so off put by the appearance of the polygonal bunny man? Beyond the ps1 era influence, the atmosphere is just spot on. I was seriously impressed by the prologue because it was such a good representation of some vague nightmare I’m sure we’ve all had at some point in our life. After that, the main chunk of the game is where Puppet Combo’s love for Old School horror becomes so much more evident. News Reporters. VHS tapes. A Creepy House. A Psycho Killer. What more do you need? Even more terrifying than the visuals and set up though is the audio. Sometimes a sudden spike in distorted sound will be used as a mere jump scare (which I have nothing against), but what really gets you will be the distant drips and drops in the basement or the wind blowing against the trees outside as you cautiously avoid your predator. The lofi nature of these sounds just really get at your nerves, like nails on a chalkboard, but for some reason it just sounds so damn cool.

If you’re about to read this, let me first state that I actually did have fun with this game. I played it with 2 of my friends and we took turns controlling the player character,

! Emma, and we did enjoy the experience. The game also greatly captures exactly what it was going for in terms of ‘scary VHS 80s horror’ and it really does look like an old video game. It also had some genuinely scary moments that caught me off guard, and it was a fresh breath of air as compared to the typical indie titles that emerge.

Sea Battle: Annihilation

Sea Battle: Annihilation

Fun casual arcade game. Great to play when you don’t have enough time to boot up a big game and get sunk into it. Love games like this for that aspect! Can upgrade your sub as you progress!

I actually enjoyed this game more than I expected to. For less than $2 I thought I would try this nostalgia trip. I have fond memories of playing similar games growing up. It’s not a game I expect to play for extended periods but much like a mobile game, I will open this up and play short bursts when I feel like it. The collisions are accurate, the sound is very fitting and overall I had a great time with this. With the menu options, I think ‘less is more’ but I have no real complaints about this game and would recommend it to others.

Retrobooster

Retrobooster

Lots of explosions. Lots of your little ship getting blown up/smashed/crushed like the tin can that it is. Lots of “wait, we’re trying to fly a spaceship through what?” Lots of that sinking feeling when you realize that the maneuver you’re supposed to pull off to get to the next level isn’t even remotely close to being a sane thing to do in a spaceship. Lots of that awesome feeling when you manage to pull it off anyway, followed by despair when the levels abandon any pretense of being dangerous but essentially neutral and start actively trying to eat your ship. Sometimes, lots of spiders.

Did you like the games Asteroids and Defender? If you did, this game is a modern version of those games mashed together. The controls for the game are awesome, and the graphics are very nice. The game feels really polished, I haven’t noticed any bugs or glitches yet. The only thing I would wish for that the game doesn’t include is online co-op, everything else is spot on. Challenging and fun, everything this type of game should be. Thank you Really Slick for making a superb game!
