Metal Heads
I’ve been helping out with testing the game (the online multiplayer) for well over a year now and i have seen a lot of improvements with it so far and it has come a long way since Pax Aus 2019.
The game itself is great fun online (yes there are issues but it is early access and what early access game doesn’t have issues) and even better when playing locally with friends. There are plenty of mini-games to play as well as a bored game mode that allows you to place items on the map to hinder others or yourself if you aren’t careful. The game has a solo Dev and Andy Gillion working on the music for the game.

The game was for a year on my steam-wishlist, and now it’s released. Yeah, it is buggy … but what else do you expect for a Early Access game? The minigames are really funny, and the game has many potential to be the next big party game. So buy it and support the developer behind the game, so that he can fulfill his vision of the game.
Furthermore he is active on Discord, in contrast to another game in this genre on steam, where the devs are lost, lol.

Take the awful trailer gameplay and realize that the trailer makes this horrendous game look about 50 times better than it actually is. Now you have a good idea of what to expect should you purchase this big pile of asset poo.

Motion Blur and lag is a constant. To make matters worse, the motion blur cannot be turned off in the game settings. Ugh.
Shame on this developer for just cobbling together a bunch of assets in what I call an ARSM (Asset Reliant Sloppy Mess)

Survive the Nights
I normally dont write reviews so when I do it’s a big deal. I’ve been with this game a while. I’ve even financially supported it big time. I’ve taken the time to know some of the devs and mods. I’ve gotten to see what kind of people they are. They are ambitious which is a good thing.
But you could cut the tension with a knife when it came time for this early testing phase release. The game wasn’t supposed to be released this soon but some, a lot, too many people were so impatient that they threatened to goto steam and cry scam if nothing was released as “proof.” That’s what all of these “I waited 2 years” posters aren’t telling you.

I backed this game way back in 2014 and tried some of the stress tests and pre alpha builds back then. They were not too hot, decent amount of bugs, subpar graphics, etc. It was not a playable game. Some years ago, when this game first came to steam, it was accidentally released early by valve which was a major source of its many, many bugs. Now with update 1.9 I decided to revisit the game, and to my surprise it’s almost been polished SO MUCH. The graphics are pretty good, especially with the realistic seasons and the weather system, it’s PHENOMENAL.

PyroMind
A simple game that is a mixture of Bomberman, a Minesweeper, and, perhaps, a Tetris in a way. Something that easily fills in your short breaks.

Amazing. Roguelite “Action Minesweeper” with slick production and addictive fun factor. Can’t believe one person made this. Good presentation, interesting progression and randomization. Always fun and always hard.

Towards The Stars
Simple game from the outside but has alot of depth inside.
At first it seems its just simple 2D space game but with alot of places to explore and many new technologies to find, it soon consumes alot of your time and gives back tons of enjoyment.
While having simple graphics it looks good and has nice effects and really good music and on top of that one dedicated developer who keeps taking community feedback and implementing them really fast.
All that it makes this game a bargain and easy to recommend!

The Captain is Dead
Fantastic. I’d never played the physical board game, but this was so much fun I went out and bought a copy.
Sure, I’m not a fan of the art style, and the fires on the ship are maybe a bit confusing - since they are purely aesthetic and don’t actually indicate problems, yet when you see fire you tend to assume there are problems. But these are minor points.
In The Captain is Dead, you play an intrepid crew of as many as 6 struggling to fend off ever-encroaching oblivion as your spaceship disintegrates around you. After each crew member takes their turn, another disaster strikes. Maybe the ship’s teleporter overloads, maybe an alien spacecraft attacks, or maybe a hostile raiding party beams in. If your shields go below 0%, you’re dead. If 13 invaders beam onto the ship, you’re dead. And if you spend so many resources avoiding those things that you can’t fix your ship’s jump core in time … guess what, you’re dead.

First of all, let me just say that I own the original board game copies of the TCID and its second episode (Lockdown), so you could say that I’m already a fan of the franchise. This is also the very first review I’ve written outside of an educational capacity, so I hope that you all find it helpful.
I. OVERVIEW
The Captain is Dead pits you (and a team of your buddies if you so choose) against an unknown alien enemy that attacks your ship for reasons unknown. Unfortunately for you, your captain, who could probably get you out of this situation with little to no trouble at all, has died (hence the title). You could escape by making a jump into light speed, but your jump core (or hyper drive) is on the fritz, and you don’t have R2-D2 to help you reactivate it. Therefore, it is now up to you to utilize the talents of the remaining crew to make all necessary repairs to the jump core, while mitigating disaster by fending off alien intruders and preventing the destruction of your oh-so-delicate ship.
