Horror Legends

Horror Legends

Horror Legends is an intelligent 5v1 asymmetrical horror game with great atmosphere and a comic book vibe. The base game has 8 Cast members and 8 Legends each with their own unique stats, abilities, and playstyles. It’s different from the other horror asymms because you don’t rely on perks and add-ons for mechanical advantage. The players provide the skill instead of the progression system.

There’s a great deal of depth to the gameplay for those willing to invest the time. Each Legend is unique in both appearance and gameplay which heavily rewards mastery. The Cast members must work together to complete objectives and escape, or they can kill the Legend to end the match. This creates variety in how each match plays out.

This game is surprisingly fun and I think with some more polish and content could be a solid addition to the asymmetrical horror market. It reminds me a lot of Friday the 13th: The Game before that game tanked. The killer (called “Legends”) are very powerful and similar to F13 they can kill you quickly if you’re under-resourced but with the right tools you won’t go down without a fight.

While playing the other night, I found myself crouched in the corner of a closet holding a kitchen knife above my head as something started breaking down the door to the room I was in and having to make the decision to stay put and hide or to smash the window in the room and climb out to flee and the whole scenario reminded me of old cheesy-but-classic horror movies that everyone loves.

The Twins

The Twins

It’s very similar to The Summoning and shares a lot of the same references in the story.

It’s more Lore Based and opens up on the history of The Summoning, and the poems are a nice bonus feature that adds a level of creepiness to the atmosphere.

While it felt very similar, it simultaneously felt very different in its own, positive way.

I enjoyed both of these experiences even though The Summoning scared the daylights out of me at first.

I think I enjoyed The Summoning better just because it was the first one, but I think The Twins really added a lot more depth. It was good to get more of the story in a way, rather than just the experience the first game offered. I don’t think these games have to be played in order though. I also played The Summoning with a friend but I played The Twins on my own so maybe it would have been more fun with company. I don’t really believe in supernatural stuff though so I think watching my friend who does added a lot of fun to it. I’ve seen first hand just how scared someone can get if they do all of the rituals rather than just skim over them. I think if you don’t play the game the way it’s meant to be played, then you’re gonna have a bad time. If you follow the instructions, your chances of having a good time increase significantly, again, if you’re into this sort of stuff.

amazing!! bravo maty!! this is a very good example of a guy making a game with love.

i loved the idea and the basic but efective gameplay! cant wait for full game

atmosphere 10/10

music 9/10

player mechanics: 7/10

gameplay : to be a demo very nice! it took me 45 minutes to finish it.

the game mechanics are basic and easy to play! the flashlight lifetime is so weird, but developer will make an update and increase the lifetime of the flashlight so that’s fine

I see people who say the game has no point of direction. there are many videos on the internet of people who have passed the game without having to go around harassing an independent developer, the game is not perfect and is not a game made by a studio with million dollars of budget.

This game is still in its ‘demo’ version with the full release coming as a DLC sometime this year.

I’ve played A LOT of horror games. Easily a couple hundred. This game has serious potential. It just needs polish.

The visuals and the spoops are on point. From the menu screen, I was immediately pulled in and couldn’t wait to get my teeth bloody on some good scares. Atmospheric sounds that have been used in some of my favorite horror games can be heard here as well. I heard noises that I recognized from Silent Hill, which is always guaranteed to score good points with me.

Deported 2: Build That Wall

Deported 2: Build That Wall

Agent Grump is back, and ready to fight the endless battle against those forces trying to flood earth with illegal space aliens. This time, Agent Grump’s nemesis has grown even stronger, and it is up to you to help him carry out his mission to BUILD THAT WALL, and Make Earth Great Again. Like it’s predecessor, it is packed with contemporary political satire, it’s easy to learn and fun to play. Not for the easily butthurt.

I’ve been wracking my brain for about 2 weeks tring to figure out how to review the game without simply saying “it’s more of the same” (that’s lazy), however that does seem to be the fact of the matter. Level progression (enemy types are the same; speed goblins at level 2, the seekers, the diehards, etc) are about the same as the first one but the map layouts are different. So rest assured that you’re not playing the same game twice. Still a short game that can be completed in under an hour. I still find the comedy still enjoyable, with the game’s story continuing the narrative of political satire that surrounds Ronald J Grump and Killary and the hilarity that ensued from 2016.

Quiver Dick’s Terrible Tale For Terrible Parents To Read To Their Equally Terrible Children

Quiver Dick’s Terrible Tale For Terrible Parents To Read To Their Equally Terrible Children

When I first saw the preview for Quiver Dick’s (hehehehh well played steam…) Terrible Tale For Terrible Parents to Read To Their Equally Terrible Children, I knew I needed to play it. This game has dark humour, hilarity, a thirsty fairy, awesome music and is dripping in both in-your-face smut and innuendos.

This game is so well put together with incredible art throughout and has the capability of three different possible endings. There are easter eggs as well as nods to music, film and video games throughout with the game clearly being self aware.

First off, if you read the title you already know what kind of game this going to be, and if you already know what kind of game this is going to be your expectations will be high…this game does not disappoint. Off the rip in the opening credits I was enjoying a Monty Python feel (which for me is always a belly laugh kinda experience). The names in the game, the dialogue, the situations encountered..everything about this game felt like it was directly tailored to my idea of humor. The game in and of itself is well made, crisp, and nostalgic in its craft. The laughs will come a plenty and it actually has replay value (which for me as a completionist is awesome). Highly recommend this game for streamers who want to have a good time with their chat and go on a comedy filled journey that will have a lot of “lol’s” “wtf’s” and “LMFAO’S”. Well done Crankagegames…well done.

The Grandfather

The Grandfather

I only had one grandfather in my life…and he was an *sshole…

I’ve honestly been debating whether I should redeem that key I had to The Grandfather for over a year now…but it seems the developer made my decision super easy by making his games free as of July 2018 (whether this is permanent or temporary, I have no idea). It’s a short game that’s about 20-30 minutes long, but is it worth your time?

The Grandfather is a game about a lonely grandfather who has suffered from neglect from his wife for several years and ended up waking up as a floating head roaming his house, eliminating all sources of light while he finds his missing body parts and ultimately finding his freedom…which makes me wonder how it’s based on a true story if it’s about a floating disembodied head…was the developer personally familiar with floating heads in his grandfather’s home? And why didn’t the grandfather just get a divorce if he was so miserable?

Real player with 1.0 hrs in game

The Grandfather is a short puzzle game that will most likely last you 30-45 minutes.

First of all, the narrators voice is way to low, she is almost barely audible the first time you hear her. I suggest getting this fixed. Let it be known that this was the only issue in the game, I did not encounter any other bugs or issues so it’s definetly a stable and well made game.

The Grandfather is a wonderfully illustrated horror game that tells you about a sad miserable grandfather who has never been loved by anyone, including his wife who enjoys torturing him emotionally by giving him the scariest version of the stink eye ever.

This chilling horror game awakens you to a solo mission to escape your own home. It begins as you are startled from a deep slumber, trapped in a ghoulish nightmare until you figure out how to run out the front door.

You feel something lurking in the dark house, and every creaky step, squeaking open door and light switch flicker is unnerving as you anticipate what will come around the corner or come at you down the hall. Search every nook and cranny to find the key to escape the house you’re trapped in before a ghoul snatches your life and you wake from your slumber again. And again.
