DYSMANTLE

DYSMANTLE

At first I thought maybe I wasn’t going to like it. The combat felt a little bit jank and you spend the vast majority of the game doing exactly what the game’s title implies–-you break stuff. A lot. Almost constantly.

Once I got to around the 5 hour mark (when you first leave the tutorial/intro area and the credits roll), that’s where I really began to question if I was really going to have a good time. I wasn’t sure I was enjoying the combat. And I wasn’t sure I just wanted to tediously break stuff for 120 hours.

The game is very addicting and generous in content. There is a lot to see and to explore and quite a diversity in scenaries and actions. I like how the story is told and the fact that you keep on discovering things and paths with great freedom. I also like how you have to discover things yourself by experimenting and being curious.

Be warned that it can feel like a grind and that if you don’t like repetition and farming, you might not enjoy it, because you often do the same things ; mostly exploring, breaking stuff, fighting, and crafting. If you enjoy the gameplay loop, you are in for a long time. If you don’t, you might feel bored or exhausted before the end. I enjoy the game and like to discover the new places and grow more potent.

This is a good arcade style game. It will take a little bit of practice to use the control and get use to the movement. Survival will challenge you, easy at start, difficult later on as every survival mode. For .99, definitely recommend.

I didn’t expect this to be good. It is not. A student university project. It probably got an A, but you wouldn’t even play it for free.

Notes to Dev at the bottom

Do not expect a game - what this is, is a bare bones collection of concepts and building blocks in alpha state for you to experience in a very primitive manner. This is currently accessible to us customers for what is seemingly, feedback and the opportunity to offer opinions as an aid to shape the game - which is not to say these building blocks cannot someday form the basis of a very enjoyable game worthy a place within the genre. I for one like the concept - love the voxel world and think the world generated can provide a very acceptable overall graphical experience, but it’s very clear that is a very long time in the future.

A Game This Bad Requires The Power Of the UnReal Engine. No other engine could possibly export a game THIS bad.

No words. Just imagine a big pile of wet gooey poop. …Now imagine that big pile of poop exploding all over and in your face. ..Now you have a good idea of what this game is. ..Buy at your own peril. You’ve been warned.

NOT Recommended.

THE CARS

There are 4. Two are simply re-skins of the other two. As you move up from one car to the next there is an increase in performance over the previous ones. However, this will depend on you using your winnings to purchase upgrades. Your damage is reflected in a health bar, but doesn’t alter the way your car looks.

UPGRADES

There are three upgrade paths. Speed, Controls, and Armor. My first impression was that this game controls poorly, but you will see an improvement as you upgrade Controls.

This is a goodish game for mobile but the port for PC is rather lame.

Deluxe - I’ts worth it!!! I’ve spend many hours on late night gameplay and it’s a great wave shooter with sometimes SCARY MOMENTS!!! Imagine night stages with big robo-spiders suddently appearing.

Keep up the good work - i’m waiting for more! :D

As a total newbie to shooty type games,( I’m more a point and clicker,) I am still at the ‘headless chicken’ stage of gameplay,

I don’t understand if I’m doing it right and getting all the right upgrades etc but I have managed to to clear the first 3 stages, so I just wanted to say I love this game ! The scale of the game area feels brilliant, and the thingybobs that are attacking you are very menacing ! Its the game I always put friends in that have never been on VR and everyone has been impressed, so buy it and enjoy it :)

The Dinosaurs Are Here

The Dinosaurs Are Here

The Dinosaurs Are Here is a physics-based sandbox game set in a nowadays park where you can control a dinosaur.

Hunt for humans and try to survive against the park security guards!

The game features procedural animations, an advanced dinosaur IK system, and ragdoll humans that you can grab, eat and throw as a dinosaur.

You will need to manage your hunger, thirst, health, and stamina during your play.

The game is set on a beautiful huge park with football fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, playgrounds, ponds, restaurants, bars, and much more!

You will be able to find lots of hidden secrets and unlock amazing achievements if you like exploring!

UNIQUE CONTROLS

You will be able to control your head and tail in a simple yet advanced way.

Rotate your head to better target your attacks or simply throw an object that you’ve already grabbed in a specific direction.

RAGDOLL HUMANS

Grab humans and have fun with them!

Depending on the angle of your attacks you will have the possibility to take a human from his hands, legs, neck, or spine.

THROW OBJECTS

Each object will be pickable depending on your mass and the object’s mass.

That means that a big dinosaur will have a better chance to pick a big object, while a small dinosaur will only be able to pick smaller objects.

Also, bigger objects will mean slower head movement when holding them, which translates into smaller throw distances.

ADVANCED AI

The AI will have an advanced perception system that will rely on sight and hearing.

If you make too many noises they will be able to hear you from a great distance and escape if they are normal civilians or chase you if they are security guards.

KEY FEATURES

  • Physics-based dinosaur game

  • Huge map with lots of secrets and achievements

  • Survival & hunting game mechanics

  • Advanced AIs with perception systems that are able to hear, see and predict

… a shame it was abandoned…

but don’t be fooled. I consider this game still the top game in my whole steam library.

Why? you might wonder….

this game is living on vividly in the mod community.

Theres hardly a hundred players still running it regularly but its state is better than ever before.

The online community is superb. All very passionate people who invest real time and skill in this wonder of a game.

credit where credit is due: big thanks to Deepflame, Peaceman, and modders like Equinox, Xaerthus , Onca, JohnBeere and many , many others, who are taking this game to unseen levels.

(New Edit, 2/17/2019)

I hadn’t played ME for months, after the last update broke the game into unplayability and I left in disgust, after having written the review below. But I had heard about the rail and water mods and so a few weeks ago I fired it back up to check it out.

Like my initial Steam review (below), the modders have done an amazing job. The new rail mod is intuitive, fun, immersive, and solves the main issue of planet, which is it’s unruly size.

The new water mod finally added what everyone has been asking for since the games inception, and which KEEN assured us they would never provide. Water. Like, you know, the prerequisite for life itself.

So i bought this game after seeing it on youtube i am quite impressed that one man made this game that’s insane. It’s got some fun mechanics i quite enjoyed the explosions and death animations, the reloading and difference between weapons is really cool as well. bolt action was my favourite by far. There’s definitley a few annoying bugs in the single player mode when you die you sometimes spawn back to a heap of enemies on top of your body and they just instantly kill you however that doesnt happen too often.
