Bloons TD 6

Bloons TD 6

BTD6 is a fine tower defense game that features monkeys versus balloons. Don’t let the cute and colorful appearance fool you though: it’s easy in the beginning, but you can easily choose more challenging scenarios that will test your abilities thoroughly.

There’s a bit of a grind at first to unlock everything, but there’s so much content, that just playing the game will get you there. Daily and weekly events are great and give you a chance at more free stuff. There’s plenty to do in co-op too.

Defense Grid: The Awakening

Allow me my conceit.

DG is the best video game I have ever played, and many of you reading this could my grandkids friends.

I usually avoid pronouncements. I avoid posting comments even more, but DG is so special, so rare, I must share with you why you should buy it.

Check how many hours I have invested in this love affair. I still play every week. I invite you to check older posts from pre-2010 to see how this game enveloped not just me but a whole community being introduced to tower defense for the first time, not to mention veterans of the genre.

Tower security entertainments are a dime twelve on the Internet, which is a touch of an adornment generally as in most by a long shot of them are permitted to-play, so paying 10 pennies would be unnecessary overabundance. Still, it’s not stunning that tower shield entertainments are so celebrated; done successfully they can be an addictive time suck, draining without end the hours as you try to set up a defensive system that can withstand everything the PC hurls at it. With these free preoccupations out there, can’t avoid being there space for a premium tower security diversion? Covered Path Entertainment advances a persuading resistance with Defense Grid: The Awakening, a $20 redirection that offers a great deal of tense minutes and significantly more significance than an ordinary tower monitor diversion.

Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal

Creeper World 3: Arc Eternal

Creeper World is technically a tower defence game, but unlike any other you’ve played before.

In a normal tower defence game (and even abnormal awesome ones like Defender’s Quest ) you’ll have enemies coming towards a point or object you’re defending and you’re tasked with fending them off by placing towers either along a pre-defined path or by creating that path using walls or the towers themselves (this is known as ‘mazing’).

GemCraft - Chasing Shadows

GemCraft - Chasing Shadows

This has become one of my favorite games, and I believe every tower defense fan has a good chance of really enjoying this game. Gemcraft - CS is based on the original Flash game (haven’t played it at time of writing, but I should get around to it sooner or late). I’ve played a lot of Flash tower defense games, but Gemcraft is very unique, for many reasons:

Gameplay & Mechanics: Is similar to other top-down TD games, in which your sole objective is to defend your base (in this case, your Orb) from hordes of enemies. You do this by placing gems into towers and traps. It’s a simple premise, but the game incorporates so many elements that complicate matters. Every gem type has a different special effect, and many factors, such as the shape of the field, the gems you have available (you don’t unlock all the gems for use on every map until later in the game), and the skills/abilities you have, just to name a few. You can also speed up time, which is very useful as things WILL get slow at times, or pause time entirely while you make decisions. This sounds broken, but I assure you, it isn’t. You can even play in Iron Wizard mode, which disables most of the extra bonuses and makes the game more like a typical TD experience, with the difficulty being thrown at you head-on. Much of the game is the player investing more in their talisman bonuses and skill points to challenge more difficult maps and make more progress in endurance runs.

Prepare to be addicted!

A tower defense game with a dark, gritty atmosphere and tons of choices for upgrading skills, choosing which types of gems you prefer to use, as well as extra stuff like spells, shrines, etc. A map that lets you choose your path, and even replay levels to your hearts content. And best of all, tons of achievments that actually give you in-game bonus points to use in upgrading your skills. Finally, we achievment hunters can have a legitimate reason for getting achievements!

Kingdom Rush - Tower Defense

Kingdom Rush - Tower Defense

Kingdom Rush (KR) is a really fun and well-made tower defense game. I have already finished the game at 100%, 43hrs of fun, totally worth full price: 9.5/10 ¡Awesome!

In KR you’ll manage only 4 type of towers, but these towers have very good upgrades, so you’ll have to decide which upgrade is better for your situation in-game, by the way, you can sell the towers but you get a penalty receiving less money. Here a little explanation of the towers without upgrades just with their regular properties:

Real player with 43.8 hrs in game

With over 78 levels to complete and master, Kingdom Rush remains a solid tower defense strategy game that is offered at a more than fair price. Challenge your ability to think and plan ahead whilst also maintaining a degree of entertainment and fun.

–——————————————————-

I started off playing Kingdom Rush as a casual joke: as you can probably tell, it quickly evolved beyond that. With a little over 43 hours under my belt, you can be certain that you’re receiving the most bang for your buck.

Dungeon Warfare is a fantastic tower defense game that offers uniqueness in the genre and plenty of replay value. As of writing the review, I have unlocked all levels and have beaten the game. It took me approximately forty hours to do so. The value here is immense; going by the $1.00 per hour of gameplay rule, you can expect to get four times or more of your money’s worth, considering you buy it for full price.

This game is somewhat reminiscent of Dungeon Keeper. Your goal is to prevent the good guys from reaching your dungeon portal, and you must use various traps at your disposal (along with rechargeable spells, of which there are many that you may unlock over the course of the game). Keeping true to the genre, strategy is key, for particular traps are more useful in some areas than others. Unlike many tower defense games, many traps are able to be placed on the ground rather than on “towers” or walls, such as spikes/slime/grinders, which varies things up quite a bit. Throughout the game, winning one level will unlock up to three more, and each level shows you its layout and what it unlocks upon completion before you even play it. There are over forty levels in the main game, some of which are required to progress, and some of which are optional and grant you gems (required to level up everything; they upgrade your traps, spells, and even how much gold/lives you start out with). Beating a level also unlocks the ability to replay it with runes, reminiscent of the Gemcraft series. Each rune offers a different challenge, such as additional enemy health/speed, and enabling a rune on a level and subsequently beating it offers you an XP multiplier, which helps you level up. Thus, if you ever get stuck on a level, there are multiple options at your disposal to allow you to earn XP to level with and try again.

Having put over a 100 hours into this game and completing every level to perfection https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1764814214

I think It’s safe to review this game now.

Let me start by saying when I first booted this game up, I was extremely impress by this port. This far exceeds anything I ever expected from a mobile (and later learned this port was made in Unity). This is a very polished title, don’t let the flash graphics throw you off. They do seem a bit weak early on, but get better later on in the game, in my opinion of course.

There are two types of people. The ones who have previously played a kingdom rush game on their browser and the ones who haven’t. For those who haven’t, they still have time before adobe flash gets discontinued thus making the free version unavailable. This review will focus on If you should buy the steam version of this game for those who have already beaten it and for those who have not.

To begin with, Kingdom Rush Frontiers is the sequel to the very popular kingdom rush(2011) and is regarded as the best one so far. It was released as a flash game for you browser(with some heroes you had to pay to get). Later it also got released for android and ios for around 2-3$ If I am not mistaken, with some extra stages.

Bloons TD 5

Bloons TD 5

I have played Bloons Tower Defence since the first one. If you like tower defence games I highly recommend this one. BTD5 is by far the best one out of all of them. For the steam version they took their online one from their website and their mobile version of it and made it into one.

The Specialist Buildings has four upgrades like in mobile vs three like online.

You also have the towers that are from the mobile version.

You have the Monkey Lab.

They are keeping up with the updates very well on this too

Real player with 453.2 hrs in game

It is a fun tower defense game, but the entire series has traditionally been free flash games and you can find most if not all of them still out there if you look.

Be warned, there is constant begging for more real money as they desperately want you to buy micro-transactions for everything. If that annoys you, skip this. If you can ignore the constant begging however, the actual game is fun and you can unlock everything required simply from playing.

Also note: The DLC are just more ways to waste money, they are pure cosmetic.

Sol Survivor

Sol Survivor

I am SUPER pleased that I gave this game another chance, because it is now firmly in my Top 3 All Time tower defense games (and I’ve played over 100, far more if you count war3 maps).

I got this game shortly after it first came out way back in 2011 and a bunch of us played it coop. It was fun but it seemed really generic and sloppily designed. A few dozen hours later I uninstalled it and rarely ever brought it back out because I ignorantly thought the single player was the same as the multiplayer.

Real player with 348.9 hrs in game

I was introduced to Sol Survivor by someone who’d read my review on Heretic and asked if I’d ever played it using the Doomsday engine. He had an extra copy that he gifted me after we spent a couple hours kicking each other’s asses in some Dukematches.

This is my first “real” Tower-Defense game, and it’s a great way to be introduced to the genre. Before Sol Survivor, my only glimpse into this genre were the UMS “Turret Defense” and “Pylon Defense” user-created maps for Battle.net StarCraft matches (classic, mind you, not II).

Kingdom Rush Origins - Tower Defense

Kingdom Rush Origins - Tower Defense

If you’ve played either of the other two Kingdom Rush games, then you know what to expect with Origins. That’s not to say that this installment isn’t accessible to newcomers, but with all of the references to the previous games, veterans of the series will certainly get more out of it.

The big change this time around, other than the brand new assortment of towers, enemies, heroes, and maps, is a new hero specific major spell. It sits right next to Reinforcements and Thunderbolt (this game’s panic button) on every map and recharges the same way they do. Where they differ is the hero specific spell varies in effect depending on the hero, with some mimicking Reinforcements, some mimicking Thunderbolt, and others acting as more direct damage like Reg’son’s one-shot-one-kill Vindicator. This improvement adds a new level of complexity to choosing a hero as that unique spell can completely change your approach. I also found the heroes to be better balanced in this game than in previous installments. Switching heroes is now more about adapting to each one’s strengths and weaknesses than it is about upgrading to better heroes as those become available, at least so far.

Real player with 52.9 hrs in game

I never did play the first game so I can’t compare (I am now going to tho), but I have to say this is a brilliant game for those into tower defence games.

There is not a great deal to explain here about gameplay, Its a typical tower defence like every other but its fun, smooth and really well balanced for a change, I didn’t come across any performance issues at least which is nice.

As for the maps themselves, they are fairly small, it would have been nice to see much bigger maps just to make things more challenging but they are all still fun to play and still require tactics at times when things get hectic.
