Children of a Dead Earth
Children of a Dead Earth, henceforward CoaDE, is an experience all by it self.
There is really no simple way to summarize what CoaDE is, but i will try to summarize it as this: a Space Opera Simulator with a strong emphasis on technical details in general , and combat/orbital spaceflight in particular , with a touch of survivalism philosophy, and politics and daughter-mother shinnanigans in a complete and (relatively) intuitive form.
And it is in scientific accuracy the game shines. Sure, you have to accept the setting of modern-ish day technology (Solid-State laser, NTR with isp in the range of 6-9km/s, missile are heat-seeking-only and railguns are not that accurate) but you can’t help noticing the N-body simulation that blew me away. Aside from possibly solar-sandbox™,Nothing like this have been done in recent years and it really shows the developer’s insistence on realism. Unlike KSP’s simple one-body sim. And the fact that everything in the game is newtonian (dev nicely explained the troubles of implementing relativistic in-game), conservation of mementum and energy, etc, etc.

I’m not sure how to adequately explain just how intricate and addictive this game is.
You play through the first few campaign missions, and you start to get a feel for how things work. Missile salvos, intercepts, adjusting your orbit, etc. Keep going, and you unlock ship design. This is essential for beating the infamous mission, Vesta Overkill (protip: bring lots of Stinger Drones, Flak Missiles too if they fit in your mass budget). Once you conquer Vesta, you unlock Module Design (unless you cheat, that is, but why not go for the achievement?). This is where the real meat and potatoes of the game is.

I have yet to be dissappointed by Alan Hazelden’s elegant puzzle games. Typical of his style, Sokobond employs simple, self-explanatory mechanics in a series of small, self-contained puzzles which nevertheless manage to be frustratingly challenging.
The difficulty builds up naturally – each new mechanic is introduced on its own, first with simple levels to give you an idea of the basic tricks, and then with harder levels. Then, the different mechanics are brought together in later puzzles. Stopping to think logically through the situation is a must; if you don’t, you get stuck trying things that don’t work over and over, and many levels seem impossible.

Tyto Ecology
At the time of this review, I’ve put 114.4 hours into Tyto. In the interest of disclosure - I received the base game as a gift from a friend, though I purchased the DLC on my own.
I’ve been with the game a long time - I believe shortly before the Himylan DLC came out, through to the current Cretacious DLC. In that time there’s been a lot of growth and a lot of care (even the odd spot of free content), and while it’s still not perfect, it’s a lot of fun and it’s been money more than well spent.

EDIT: I originally indicated that Tyto Ecology focuses on the more simplistic aspects of the maintaining of an environment in equilibrium. While that may be true in the limited number of “players in the game”, within those diverse players that are included there is NO shortage of complex interaction. As I expand the scope of my own TE creation, resulting in the increased need for answers to more multifaceted questions (a reflection of the environment itself, perhaps), I am constantly astounded as to just how complex the overall interaction is. Clearly not by accident, but precisely as intended. The complexity reveals itself slowly through necessity, as is done with any extremely well designed game. And these DEVS know exactly of what they speak, and say it extremely well. And with great passion.

Crazy Plant Shop
I wish Steam had a “Maybe” for recommending a game, but since it doesn’t - I’m going with No.
Please read my review and decide for yourself.
Pros:
Cute, charming art style
Easy to play, only requires mouse
Catchy music
Cons:
Short (has 1 game mode) ~3h of gameplay
No replay value (unless you miss an achievement and really want it)
Very repetitive
Horrible voice acting (I turned off the SFX)
I want to say that I don’t think this game is horrible, I just don’t think it’s very good either.
I bought it on sale for $2.49, and that is what I think the top price should be.

I would like to preface my review with the following disclaimer: I do try to achieve a perfect game (100% achievements) when possible, and as such, I may be swayed by my attempts to get the final, tedious achievement to complete 80 orders (in one playthrough).
Crazy Plant Shop has a very simple premise based upon Mendellian genetics and the Punnett Square, at an introductory level I might add, with no incomplete or codominant genes/traits. This is all well and good if you fancy this game for a child, although for anyone seeking a true genetic challenge it is not worth the 5USD price tag. That said, I would like to break down the Pros and Cons-

Creatura
I love this game. I have two degrees in biology and I work with animals in behavior. I’ve always loved life simulation games, both for their entertainment value and for their ability to help us predict health and behaviors in animals and plants. A lot of games fell super short, either because they were made more layman friendly and were basically dumbed down, or because they were too early to have the tech to really do it right.
Creatura comes as close as I have ever seen to being as realistic as possible for a life simulation game.

Doing a review on this game is difficult for a number of reasons:
-
It is very much still a work in progress.
-
It has a “play” style that will only appeal to a limited set of people but will appeal to that set.
First, it is very much a work in progress. When I purchased it the other day, I couldn’t even get through the 3rd tutorial. And I had a fair amount of difficulty getting through the 2nd tutorial without it crashing. When I checked the tutorials this morning, both worked just fine. However, the tutorial content is still being fleshed out, and there is a lot you might want to know about how to play this game that you will have to learn from game guides, watching very out of date videos, etc. This is currently NOT a finished product and you have to take that into account when purchasing it.

Helper Cat
“That Cat Do Be Helping Tho” 🐾⚗️
This game is cute. It’s simple. It’s stupid hard. But, when you solve it? Ho boy, that sweet, sweet rush of happy feel good chemicals surging through your brain… oh it’s so worth it.
Buy it. It’s worth it. My friends and I got hours out of this.
Recommended.

It’s Sokoban with a retro-inspired cat aesthetic. For the most part this game offers a simple, fun challenge for a super cheap price, but it can be pretty buggy sometimes. Here’s a couple of issues I ran into:
• Sometimes a level would randomly claim it was completed before I had figured out the puzzle. You can go back and replay the level from the level selection screen if you want to complete it for real, so this isn’t a huge deal.
• It’s possible to get yourself completely stuck if you push a potion or box into a teleporter then immediately follow it through, requiring you to restart the level.

ReSizE
An irritated game.
Many of the indie works of puzzle games made in ten years have inspired by Portal, and this game is also one of them.
The problem occurs right after startup.
This game starts in a resolution of 1920x1080, which my monitor does not support.
and I can not change the setting even if I try to change the resolution.
I can not set mouse sensitivity and keyboard setting.
Although mouse sensitivity was not a problem by default, no consideration was given at all.
Other discontent…
I am dissatisfied with the action action, often fail with the jump action.

Absolutely not worth the price.
A lot of the puzzles are skippable.
The puzzles themselves aren’t hard, and by god that end level is just so boring. I don’t care about spoiling this game for you, so here goes: you fly in this spaceship for around 15 minutes through these barely visible green rings, and then after doing this you will see this planet, and stare at it for around 4 minutes, because you’re moving at mach -3.
There are some numbers infront of the planet for some reason and they do count down at roughly 1 unit of whatever per second. It started at 626 or so and ended at around 400, so about 4 minutes of staring at this planet. Then you crash, not even being close to be near it yet, so the units doesn’t make any sense, and that’s the end.
