Partisans 1941

Partisans 1941

Introduction

I was naturally interested in Partisans 1941, as real-time tactics games based on World War 2 are quite rare lately, especially when they offer a bit more unique view on skirmishes behind the enemy lines rather than on commanding the Red Army. In the end, it surprised me how I was thrilled to start a new mission each time, but my enthusiasm went a bit down due to constant performance issues and occasional minor bugs. As if we could not get a decently done game in all aspects lately.

I was really craving a game like this for a very long time and it has definitelly scratched that itch. It really reminded mo a lot of the old Commandos games. I’ve been ingame for 32 hours, but I would say it took me about ~28 to complete the story. If you can afford is, the game is totally worth the buy, I really enjoyed it, but that said I would like to go into details about some (not all) of the games mechanics and give my feedback about what I enjoyed and disliked. Please feel free to comment with anything and especially with updates if something has been resolved. Sooo this is my first proper review on steam, and I didnt know there was a word limit. I was actually 5650 words over the limit in my original review which you can find here here and nelow is a very, very reduced version of the original.

Darkzone: Idle RPG

I have been playing for a long time during the alpha (before a massive overhaul of the combat happened) and when a Steam version (that also got like a 6 months alpha) happened.

When I found this game for the first time, the game was a bit clunky and the UI somewhat weird. The game was way way more simpler, we didn’t have conquest, the story was played ALWAYS as co-op (you used a second player as a bot, anyone in the range of your level), and we had a tap system to do damage, that nobody used.

Devs, in discord, listened to feedback, and with every update, some of the clunkyness was removed, some suggestions were added, things got changed, and we eventually got a massive rehauling of the combat and progression system, with levels, attribute builds, skills, and new different stats (evasion, accuracy, damage reductions… those stats didn’t exist at all before).

It’s a (mostly) auto-battler with some rpg / strategic elements that is a port from a mobile app. My sole experiences with the game have been through Steam, so this review is not based on the mobile experience. Overall, I recommend the game to players who enjoy incremental / auto-battler style games that incorporate some strategic elements.

Pros:

It’s visually appealing

The devs are exceptionally active on Discord and respond promptly to player issues. They remain positive in their player interactions regardless of ratings. When I raised an issue with my account, it was addressed quickly.

TL;DR:

Simple sweet short early release rpg with captivating plot , easy to pick up combat system and absolutely gorgeous art.

For a game made by just one sole person, it’s definitely exceeded my expectations.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

-At first, I thought the screen for the game was way too small, however you can adjust it, (this is clearly mentioned in the game in an interesting way.)

-Really great, detailed backgrounds

-Lovely music track

Throughout gameplay

-Interesting Combat system

Intro:

I found this game through BYOND a game developing platform. If you are familiar with this platform you will know that few games from there look this awesome, also since the game is practically solo developed which must have cost years of work i can’t help but back this project.

Gameplay:

The current game is still very short with 4 chapters of stream lined story containing next to no replayability. Giving you a great experience for about 30 to max 60 minutes if you follow the story line and explore everything there is to see. Having said this the game trailer, story progression, graphics, music, inventory options and many other things give me hope that this will become an awesome and polished game.
