Cards of the Dead
At first the game felt fine…and then it becomes clear that the only way you can progress is by brute-forcing it. There’s no strategy, there’s no cleverly using character abilities. It’s just sheer dumb luck and the deck is massively stacked against you. It didn’t become apparent until after the 2 hour mark, and the second story is absolutely infuriating in how badly it is designed in regards to gameplay. REQUIRING SERUM TO USE A GUN THAT YOU HAND OUT LIKE CANDY IS BAD WHEN YOU HAVE TO USE THAT TO SURVIVE.

The rules are simple, survive.
That being said, the game is really difficult. But, there’s pretty frequent auto-saves to help you along. If you enjoy RPG’s and are willing to play a card-game variant, give it a go. I’ve enjoyed it so far.
After an additional 5 hours, I can say that the game is still difficult. It’s a lot of trial and error, which I can appreciate as you’re really learning how to play as you go. I’ve just beaten the game and am only missing the 100% completion achievements, so that’s probably another hour or so, but overall, the game’s decently short. Personally, I’d recommend the game as it’s priced, especially for all those that love Indie games, but on sale, it’s definitely worth it!

Soul Reaper
Soul Reaper quickly hooks player attention with an effectively deployed progression system, and does a fine job in offering multiple avenues to keep engagement levels high. While enjoyable for the most part, its grindy nature can render it tiresome, and the current lack of proper side quests beyond feats leaves something to be desired. Still, it’s a good debut, and a fresh ambassador for the RPG genre that leaves a lasting impression by defying convention.

Really nice, and fast paced; monster-catching strategy RPG. The game has aspects of idle-game style gameplay, however the strategy comes from squad optimisation, gear socketing, and order placement (there are ‘row bonuses’ available, but those’re kinda beyond me at the current time of writing, lol).

Aeloren Tactics
Many grammar and spelling error, total lack of map design and absolutely no tutorial nor explanation(will be kind of rough for players new to the genre)
There is many better and cheaper alternatives, don’t lose your money on this.

This game is the very definition of why you shouldn’t take reviews too seriously.
I read the reviews and thought of not getting this. Boy, were they wrong. One of the reviews complains about grammar. I don’t see it. In fact, that guy’s grammar is atrocious. Secondly, the developer states that the font makes the capital “H” look lower case. So, that explains a bit. Also the other reviews about the game being too hard? You have multiple characters that have one hit kill items across the map at the start of the game. Also the side missions were very easy and my people are very strong. It just sounds like people are not actually playing the game and are quick to leave negative feedback. So, I just have to say… play the game. You won’t be upset.

Guile & Glory: Firstborn
I just completed Guile & Glory: Firstborn (it took me 17 hours – story + delve runs), and I had a great time adventuring in the Drowned Lands. If you like turn-based tactics games, and if fighting epic battles against mythical beasts gets your blood pumping, you should definitely pick this game up.
Guile & Glory: Firstborn is described by its dev as being inspired by Into the Breach (gameplay) & the Golden Axe series (atmosphere), and this is exactly what the game delivers.

A lot of people compared this to Into the Breach, but it’s really more like Deadly Rooms of Death for people who aren’t masochists. Like DROD, there’s no miss chance, no random choices from the AI, and no excuses besides your own incompetence if you get yourself killed. But unlike DROD, you can level up, change your loadout, or even take a hit and accept a lower score. There are outcomes in between “choose exactly the sequence of steps the dev intended” and “die horribly,” and the bonus objectives encourage excellence without mandating it.

The opponent moves its queen back and forth non-stop until I make an attacking move. This is not how chess is played. Furthermore, I have 3 knights left and 2 pawns and the opponent 1 pawn somewhere a bit below the middle of the board and the game is failed for me. Why? The reason cannot be a stalemate.

Dungeon Crawler Daniel
Another winner rpg from Wolfs Moon Studio and Shane. This one is different than the others as there is only only one town with multiple dungeon levels. Dungeon levels are timed so have to be quick yet have to fight to build up all the characters you pick up (over 20) on your journey. Huge variety of monsters and bosses (optional ones also) and plenty of items and chests in the dungeons and the town has all the necessary stock needed to buy.
