Sky Tale
A fun game to pick up and enjoy some nice hours in sandbox mode or try to get the highest points possible. Quite simple but still enjoyable overall.
The achievements are fun and challenging, but the windmill/wheat field one seems to be broken/wrong, as with all 8 wheats placed directly next to water tiles seems to never trigger a progress on the achievement itself.
Some polishing might be required, so that users can actually know how many resources there are on a tile (X rocks, X trees), how many resources are taken by each building (e.g. by hovering over the tile) and how many points you get at the end turn from certain buildings (houses)

sky tale is an islanders -like, so I’ll be making a lot of comparisons to it (you might want to check the link for my review). this one’s on a grid with a bit more to it than plonking down random buildings where they give you the most points. sadly, neither lets you re-visit previous islands without copying files over, and this only keeps the one currently in progress, not all your previous attempts like islanders. I was hoping they wouldn’t copy this aspect as well…

Eufloria HD
This is a fun little game and will chew up your free time if you let it. Supposedly relaxing but can be quite hectic on some levels.
There is one major flaw in this game - one of the achievements is impossible. The “Hero” achievement is broken. Level 12 is supposed to have 100 seedlings you can find/rescue on the map (on top of your starting 100). There are only 60. The devs acknowledged this issue and promised a fix several years ago. It has not eventuated.
As I am an achievement hunter, this ruins the game for me completely.

The game has a nice atmosphere, but the gameplay is repetitive once you get passed the levels that introduce you to new features(increasing the stats of your spawned units by sacrificing enough of them to a planet, making enhanced units or bombs with occasionally generated extras from the planet), but frankly these are all VERY optional.
You can win every level with some iteration of the same strategy: Beacon all your units to one planet and roam around bulldozing the enemy, add the beacon to the new cluster of units, rinse and repeat. Using other features helps, obviously investing in stronger units aids the brute force, but in the end it’s still just a brute force strategy.

First Days of Atlantis
It’s definitely a step back from traditional city builders, but in this case that’s kind of a good thing. It’s challenging enough to pique one’s interest trying to unlock the higher tier buildings, but relaxing enough that it’s a good time sink if you just need something to do while you relax. All in all, not a bad little game, especially if you catch it on sale.

Great mix of City Builder and highscore hunt. I especially like the little details like boats, people and sheep (which you can pet btw.) that move around and make the city you build feel alive.

Gameplay & Controls:
The game is played with your keyboard and mouse; the layout and keys are pretty simplistic. This is in no way whatsoever a bad thing! This is simply a minimalistic game that doesn’t require much to offer you hours of joy.
You start the game on one island, choosing between two build packs. Once chosen it is up to you to determine where to place your buildings. Depending on the position that you build, you will receive a score for each placed building. There are several factors that multiply the score; it can either be increased or receive a loss. It comes down to some strategic thinking.

Magna Graecia is a game that lets you create unique ever-growing farming villages set in ancient Greek style. In this game, you have to transform a lonely house into a charming hamlet by placing your buildings strategically, raising their level, receiving various adjacency bonuses, and expanding your territory. Magna Graecia is suitable for both who want to relax, slowly filling their village with olives and grapes, and those who want to test their strategic thinking because every ill-conceived building can be one of the last in your Greek village.
You start the game with one house in the center and six empty hexagonal tiles around it, which you have to fill using a randomly generated sequence of buildings and resources: crop field, winery, forest, and so on, gaining points along the way. To expand your village, you need to build a house that adds all adjacent tiles to the territory of the Greek hamlet. In this game, you can (and should!) level up houses, wineries, and olive farms. Leveling up mechanics are simple: 3 same first-level buildings, where each is adjacent to the other two, turn into one second-level building, which gives you amazing bonuses. For example, a second-level house adds all adjacent tiles in a radius of 2 to the village (the radius is doubled). The game ends when the limit on houses is exhausted and all tiles in your village are filled with buildings and resources.
There are two key resources in the game – olives and grapes. We can say that this is the real pride of your Greek hamlet. You should place olives and grapes on the adjacent tiles to olive farms and wineries respectively because adjacency bonuses play a very important role here: each resource gives +1 by default, and for each farm adjacent to it, this indicator increases by 1. Farms level up the same way as houses. Their radius of influence and adjacency bonuses will be doubled (now +2!), significantly increasing production in the village. Remember, that’s a very powerful tool. By placing buildings correctly, you will literally become an olive oil and wine tycoon, thereby adding a lot of points to the overall rating of your village, which will show at the end of the game, how well you did in creating a Greek farming village.
