Build & Battle
I love this game so much!! 8,7/10
This game is a underrated masterpiece which more people need to try out and support!!
Let me go though the pro’s and con’s:
PRO’s
-Amazing Art style that kinda reminds me of Age of Empire’s when it first came out (1999)
-It’s a traditional Tower Defence type game
-The game mechanics are really smooth and easy if you can adapt to it..(more on that later) which prefer of the game, that the game will let you learn on your own
-No in game purchases
-Super Fun and rewarding, you feel real progress when you succeed in a level

Works in Proton.
This is actually pretty fun - I’m sad this was never fully completed/left prototyping.
There’s a lot not explained: Towers that are level 2 and higher have abilities you can cast for AP.
Catapults have to be rotated (Also, their graphic made me think they were just some rocks on the ground)
But even so, I’m really enjoying this little game. I’ve never seen a turn based tower defense, and while it certainly has a few bugs (Occasionally a unit will get stuck in an invulnerable, untargettable, non-moving state causing you to restart the game.) I still think it’s worth giving a try.

M.A.X. 2: Mechanized Assault & Exploration
I’e always liked this game. I’ve played it +1000 hours on a different account.
It’s very simple, easy to learn, a lifetime to master.
5 different types of humans, plus a pod species much like Alien(s). You can choose or do it random. Six different maps. 1-on-1 up to 5-on-1. You can call it a city builder, but then again, you could call Napoleon an adventurer.
Never plays the same way twice.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Having played the original M.A.X., which was brilliant, I thought that I would try M.A.X. 2. Game loaded OK and it took a little time to work out what the differences from the original game were. This resulted in me taking about 1 1/2 hours to get to turn number 36 when the game crashed. It had done an automatic save at turn 35 so started the game again and again it crashed. I then checked that my system was compatible with the program, loaded it up again and tried a different scenario. It crashed again around turn 30. After two more scenarios and crashes I had spent 4hours trying to get it to work and thought that a refund was in order. Of course steams rules say so refund after 2 hours. How on earth do they expect people to test a game, that always crashes, in two hours. The game should be taken off their site until the software anomalies have been rectified.

Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
This game… man this game…
The first time I played this game was when I was like 10. For that era, it had the most beatiful graphics i’ve ever seen in any videogame.
The gameplay can be portrayed as a perfect combination of Age of Empires + Paint. Yeah, not kidding. You actually play the game as if it was AoE and when you get into a fight, you draw shit with your mouse to attack. If you draw an inverted & you make an attack that takes time but is sure to fuck up the enemy, but it also takes all your stamina, leaving you defenseless for like 3 seconds.

OUR:_Defense 2021
_OUR_Defense is a dynamic tower defense game. You must react and counterattack the enemies on the battlefield all the time. Fight in the most diverse conditions and places on our planet. Fight off alien swarm attacks with gigantic machine guns, shotguns, gauss rifles and even a giant laser created using alien technology.
At the beginning of the game there are only two towers, but when you open new locations there will be more of them. You will need to plan for what places, and at what point it is better to place towers. Improvements to your towers are also an important part of your defense. You need to understand at what point and in what sequence it is best to improve the towers built. When improving the main characteristics of the towers increase: strength, speed and range of the attack. To improve the towers, you will need credits that are given for killing enemies.
Betrayal
A WEB OF INTRICATE POSSIBILITIES – BUT FAIR PLAY ISN’T ONE OF THEM!
A new barrel of fine Welsh ale had just been broached. The royal palace’s smoky dining hall resounded in cheery voices. To one side of the top table a harpist and a minstrel were struggling to be heard above the commotion caused by two dogs snarling over a bone in the corner.
Eating slowly, I leant forward to catch the breathless whisper of a rival knight.
“They came in at a run, baying like wolves, four wild-eyed barbarians ready to cut, gouge, pulverize and kill anything that moved.”
That news was indeed music to my ears. My forces’ attack on his wealthiest town had met with success. Financially weakened, militarily broken, and politically bankrupt, he could no longer hold influence at Court.
So long as no evidence of my wrong doings remained. So long as the Gods blessed the crops of my harvest. So long as the rumors of the capture of my brother were true. The throne was mine.
I’ve cheated, lied, spied and slaughtered. The fruits of Betrayal are mine.
-
The West Marches is a corrupt land ruled by immoral leaders. You are one of four Knights with a lust for power, and in the pursuit of power, the end justifies the means.
-
The bloodiest battles yield the greatest spoils. Strategically extend your domain, reduce your rivals’ resources, and tighten your stranglehold on the peasants of the land.
-
Betrayal involves a long, hard, ruthless struggle, starting with the economic management of your towns and cultivation of your lands, culminating in the honing of your military strategy and execution of political subterfuge.
-
The towns provide your power base. Manage the successfully, and harvest the wealth needed to buy, bribe and fight for ultimate power.
-
Develop a mastery of political subterfuge, gaining places for your Courtiers at the palaces of the King and Bishop, ready for the coup which will make you the master of Betrayal.
Bombuzal
I can’t get the game to work at all. Level codes don’t seem to work and can’t determine what keyboard controls do what. Was very much looking forward to playing this classic from the past.
Keeps reverting to map view, which then doesn’t allow further game play. Only command that works is space bar which then restarts the game.

Old school classic. Rather unforgiving, and some parts are rather trial-and-error because you often can’t tell what a switch is going to do until you flick it, then you realise you’ve made part of the map inaccessible…but that’s just how games were back then.
A nice, cerebral puzzle game from the late 80s. Hundreds of levels guaranteeing plenty of gameplay time.
I’d only ever played the Atari and Amiga versions before this, and whilst I do still prefer them because they have better sound and graphics…the DOS version does run a little slower which is arguably a good thing.

Chicago 1930 : The Prohibition
In the state it’s in, it should deserve a negative, but I’ve paid less than $1 for it so I’m gonna be more lenient.
The premises are all good, there’s the good vibe of an old-school game and the levels should keep you occupied and entertained, with actually some planning skills required to clear them. That said, the game IS buggy and crashes randomly. The way you operate your characters is also quite clunky, and frankly, a bit frustrating.
Be patient and work around the bugs, you’ll at least enjoy it for what it is.

I have no idea which stupid idiot decides to publish this game in this condition but seriously - I’m impressed. I just don’t know how it is possible to bug game without bugs. How you can fuck up selecting characters is just unanswerable. To change the guys you literally have to kill someone in the mission and hope that game will not select automatically another one by itself. Overall I love the game - but CD version not STEAM edition. Bought it only because CD version doesn’t work on anything above XP and I just couldn’t record it with FRAPS on XP. If you need to record it or if you have Vista or newer… You have to buy it… Unfortunately… But if you just want to play and you have access to PC with something between 98SE and XP than just find and buy CD version.

Command & Control 3
PROS:
-
nice concept
-
easy to learn, hard to master
-
units + offmap support
-
team change during the game, so you can react quickly
-
sounds
-
fair price
CONS:
-
infantry squads die too fast
-
pathfinding for vehicles - tragedy, they are turning 100x during a few seconds
-
unbalanced, for example cruiser missile have not enough dmg and big reload time
-
undestructable buldings
-
only a few units
-
only 2 factions
-
both factions have same units
Should be developed:
-
PvE
-
PvP
-
some units should have map limit, on some maps its only tanks spam
– Real player with 10.5 hrs in game
The game concept is really cool, even with a simplistic look, the sound design is engaging, the slowness of the units and the progress is pretty boring, the fact that you point to locations and you can’t have a precise idea of positioning like in company-style games of heroes leaves a little to be desired, the units also don’t have bonuses for the type of physical training, I believe that only for the type that it is ie if it’s just a grenadier or if this or that… the concept of as if it were a general commander it was really cool…so far I missed aircraft like the black hawk doing circular flights protecting areas with the machine gun…the buildings don’t have physics and also don’t give the immersion of soldiers ambushing or taking cover efficiently.
