Adventures in Morality: An Interactive Case Study

Adventures in Morality: An Interactive Case Study

First to the creator(s) of the ICS, you should be aware that there appears to be a bug with the cassette recordings. Every time you find one and play it, it also plays all the ones that you have found and played before, simultaneously, making understanding anything pass the third one nearly impossible. Onto the review.

This is an interesting experience. The idea being that an AI is the one conducting the Case Study on you is both intriguing and perhaps a bit alarming and I mean both of those ideas in as to whether you accept that at face value or if you accept that as part of a fictional narrative. I was actually most interested in finding and reading the log notes about the “childhood” and growth of said AI, and I got a good snicker at the mention of bonono monkies (i dont have to google, i actually saw a N.G show on them so totally got it ;) As for the Subject of the case study, this idea of sympathy types, while the particular labels used to describe said types might be newish, the idea behind it is not. I was reading about where people fall into self, tribe, and human kind in self help and spiritual enlightenment books back in the 80’s and 90’s. And those authors were NOT representing the knowledge as something new; but, rather as something very old and mostly forgotten or purposely suppressed (Those in power naturally tend to keep those below them divided and weakened through the use of Us vs them, whether thats Individualism vs Communism or Tribalism in one form or another.) The one thing none of those authors ever did was threaten to use the knowledge being shared to bring about an apocalypse and try to divide up the world based on results of some case study. Really not sure what to make of that.

Opening video has a couple good lines.

The rest is random questions that don’t make any sense as a test of morality. Not to mention that just by walking around you get 80+ ‘Humanity’ rating.

Chess Destroyer

Chess Destroyer

What a great and innovative way to play chess. I like the ways you destroy other pieces it looks really great combined with the amazing sound effects it makes when you crush enemies and next wave comes into play. If you are a fan of chess or have just played it for fun then i really recommend this game. I also think it is a great way to think differently and also practice some strategy in the real game.

Cool idea but the game is stacked against you. even in random “Easy” mode you can not keep it going for long as the goals become unobtainable

Divine Stone

Divine Stone

Divine Stone is a simple 2D platformer/puzzle/riddle game where you must solve riddles and other puzzles to pass each level. There’s hand drawn art but it’s not badly done, and there’s some clever ideas in the puzzles.

Some of the puzzles are a bit too vague/unclear, and on a technical basis the game is a bit clunky. Resolution is locked and can’t be changed, so the game doesn’t meet basic standards for a contemporary PC game. The translation is rough, too. I think the developers do deserve some kudos for a genuine attempt at making an interesting video game. There’s too many poor quality asset/template flips and construction kit games on Steam, so it’s refreshing to see a real game for a change.

Feeling Square?

Feeling Square?

Written for 1561’s Thoughts - Honest reviews, for busy people.

Feeling Square? is a difficult platformer where you need to move multiple squares over to the exit, but the death of one means restarting the entire level. It’s more frustrating than challenging. 4/10

I can say that I’ve never been a huge fan of the rage genre, but this game was definitely one of the best rage games I’ve played. The level design is super well thought out while also very challenging providing the player with excellent gameplay. Even if you are not a fan of the die and restart type of game, this is one i can seriously recommend to all types of people.

I haven’t slept in days. This game has an intricate and beautifully weaved story that is a joy to play through time after time, and you WILL enjoy playing it time after time because the endless mode provides endless replayability (no pun intended xD). I’ve already completed this game 5 times (on my 6th playthrough as we speak) and I plan to spend many, many more hours in the masterpiece of narrative-driven gaming.

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game

Just over 100 hours in. Most of it idle. I have got to what i guess is the end of the game. i can’t upgrade anymore and there is nothing left to do but continue to mow endless lawn. fun for a while but now just sit idle waiting for an update to something more exciting.

if you want something better look at leaf blower revolution.

Really? There’s an academy for this sort of thing?

Grass Cutters Academy - Idle Game appears to be inspired by another game by the name of Leaf Blower Revolution - Idle Game, both being idle games about yard work…only thing is that this game isn’t really all that idle and to get all the prestiges, you’ll be idling for approximately 200 hours.

You start off in an incredibly slow mower and can use points from clipping sections of yard to upgrade your speed, increase value of your clipping points, buy automatic mowers, increase speed of said mowers, etc. And while the auto mowers do the job for you…they aren’t really intelligent enough to seek out patches of grass as they just ricochet off the walls.

Para Bellum

Para Bellum

Para Bellum — is a real-time strategy puzzle game that will require a high level of microcontrol from you. The action takes place in an original fantasy universe in which you have to take control of the fate of an entire continent. During the story campaign, you will take one castle after another by storm, step by step freeing your patrimony from the power of the vile but powerful empire of Denatar. Para Bellum is an unusual RTS that uses original mechanics for the genre.

You are the first ruler to unite the scattered kingdoms of western Kiltmer under your rule in order to effectively counter the threat of the elven empire of Denatar. However, the Emperor of the Elves and the most vile of his vassals managed to outwit you: your army was weakened, your brother was killed, and you managed to escape only by a miracle, after a fierce battle for the capital. Many years have passed, and finally you have the opportunity to return what is yours by right, recapture every fortress of western Kiltmer and end the rule of the cunning elves!

Having examined the sketch of the fortress walls from your scouts, having analyzed the enemy’s defenses, you lined up your army in the correct formation, putting each troop in its place. All troops have special abilities and their own specialization. It is necessary to correctly combine units with their abilities to overcome the enemy’s defense.

However, it doesn’t end there! You have to personally lead the assault, opening up the potential of each troop on each of the five attacking lines simultaneously. Cover defenseless soldiers with shields, dodge the devastating shots of enemy ballistae, counteract the attacks of the besieged, light torches in the darkness and In the end, break through the gates of the coveted castle with successive blows of your rams!

The game sets certain conditions at the stage of army formation. You are free to choose the troops and their formation by yourself. To line up a turtle bristling with shields so that no enemy arrow reaches the target, or opposite, to shower the defenders with heavy fire of their own arrows, so that they are afraid to even look towards your impending army - the choice is yours! Most importantly, do not forget that to counter the enemy’s defenses on each of the attacking lines, you need to select the appropriate units in your own army.

  • Para Bellum is characterized by high dynamics of what is happening, any mistake or delay can cost you dearly.

  • You will need to collect a unique army, to successfully complete the level. This feature turns the preparatory assault phase into a puzzle.

  • There are three sets of challenges for each level, differing in their complexity. Maximum difficulty will require you to concentrate and use all units competently.

  • The army formation depends on your playing style.

  • Many interesting and varied squads and mini-games associated with them.

  • Colorful locations and formidable fortresses.
