Death Realm

Death Realm

Game looks beautiful as hell, and combat is silky smooth too.

The TAB menu and some audio stuff are a bit clunky but overall i’d say its really worth a try

Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition

Pascal’s Wager: Definitive Edition

VERY good action-RPG despite the bad translation. Even if I wouldn’t call it my favorite souls-like it’s definitely worth a playthrough or two.

I explored every bit of every map, did all sidequests, etc and with that my (blind) first playthrough was almost 50 hours. I hear you can rush and finish it in 10, but why would you want to?

I see some people complaining about the voice action but I disagree. First it’s not all bad. Second, even if it where good, with the current translation they would mostly babble nonsense anyway.

I only started to play this game but fastly enough I get confused why the hell it has so many negative reviews.

There are a few proses that hooked me personally. First of all, I do respect difficulty in souls like games, however it’s also the reason why I don’t play them: I don’t have enough free time to spend several hours for defeating one boss. Pascal’s Wager allows me to set difficulty mode to “easy” and just to relax. Also I love the aesthetics and the graphics: this PS3 vibes make me nostalgic to the times when the games were good. As this game was ported from mobiles - it runs perfectly on my potato PC. In minimal system requirements it’s said that you need GeForce GTX 750 Ti. No, you don’t: this games runs pretty good on my old Nvidia GT 640.

Is this a bad game? I dont think so but it feels very rough. I personally would not recommend it based on other big title souls-likes and even smaller titles. It would of course be unfair to compare it to Dark Souls but even compared to the smaller titles I just feel as though it needs more polish.

My concerns are the lack of a proper roll, the lack of keyboard support, some poor telegraphs and bit unfair enemy tracking. Biggest thing is probably ranged enemies can hit you from off screen and you’ll have no idea where they are given the fixed camera.

Tails of Iron

Tails of Iron

I absolutely adore this game. I’m going to break it down in to sections

Story:

I like the story, its the typical hero has to save a kingdom. However with their use of characters and different locations it helps you move away from from that stereotypical hero also being a rat fighting frogs and bugs helps this as well.

Narrator:

Special mention the narrator is brilliant in this he adds some grit to the story and i feel like its another great layer to this game.

Combat:

I love the combat in this game. Its brutal, this game really punishes you if you make mistakes but once you master it you can have a lot of fun. Its a very simple combat system but it works so well. I will admit i sucked at the start but once i got through it i really started to enjoy the game. Another great little feature is executions. Each enemy has a brutal execution that you can do on them

Grabbed this up after reading a few reviews and watching the trailer and glad I did!

I went into the game with a curiosity for how they would handle RPG elements and combat in a traditional side scroller. It reminded me of old school Wonder Boy meets that classic book series RedWall. It was a nostalgic hit for me.

The mechanics were simple but well executed. Combat was just challenging enough to keep you on your toes but not so intense to need breaks (Ahem.. Dark Souls) I found the art style both endearing, charming, and savage as they didn’t pull any punches on cartoon gore – which I respected.

DARK SOULS™ III

DARK SOULS™ III

This is one of my favorite games of all time. There’s so much depth, variety of playstyles and builds, plenty to explore and learn about the game, so many weapons to use and play with. Weapon arts are cool, hit boxes are (mostly) really fucking good in pve, and there’s an amazing sense of power in actions done in this game.

A lot of people consider ds3 the fastest of the 3, with faster movements, rolling, stamina usage, ect ect.

In my opinion, this gives your player character a “badassatry” that doesn’t exist in any other souls game. You’ll roll through giant moves, just BARELY dodge a flurry of attacks, and slam the enemy with your 66 strength scaled heavy ultra greatsword.

Real player with 408.2 hrs in game

Masterful level design, compelling combat and weapon systems. varied and fun magical options. Dark souls 3 is the kind of game that you can replay over and over with different experiences each time. At the surface level, the community can seem toxic, but you can fairly easily get past those people to find the passionate, helpful, and friendly community it has to offer. If you’re looking at Elden Ring and not sure if you want to buy it, try this game first. Take the time to read item descriptions and npc dialogue for an interesting and interconnected story below the surface of it all.

STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™

STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order™

“Qui-Gon used to do this.

He used to roam around the galaxy picking up strays.”

~Karen Miller, Stealth (Clone Wars Gambit)

OK, this. This is exactly what many of us waited for so long. True, I am not the biggest Star Wars fan in the entire world (proud Trekkie here), and yet, I love it very much (aren’t we all?). And yet, EA, who used to have the rights for a very long time, just sat on them for years and did nothing aside from milking The Old Republic MMO (which feels more like a single player game with online features at this point) and occasionally dropping grinding-oriented online FPSs that felt nothing like what we had in proper Battlefront installments back in the days. Now finally, when EA’s Star Wars license almost ended, they’ve decided to do something real to prove that they actually can and… you know. Convince Disney to keep working with them. In other words, Jedi: Fallen Order was their way to show-off. And they really did try their best.

Real player with 67.7 hrs in game

Well, since we had not had a Jedi game since FU II, Fallen Order was most welcome.

However, I cannot call it a perfect game.

My main issues:

  1. Ballance & Realism/Canon compliance. I started it on max difficulty, and it was a pleasant challenge until the first boss (AT-ST), which was far more difficult that anything before it. I then lowered difficulty. However, some bosses were still difficult even on the padawan difficulty. The problem is not the challenge posed by the bosses per se but the lack of any content designed to prepare you for it.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos

You are Pseudo, a powerful warrior living as a recluse in the strange land of Zenozoik. When you become embroiled in a quest for the Artifacts of Chaos, everything changes. Explore the world and defeat your enemies, but never forget the sacred rules of the Ritual.

The Mysteries of Zenozoik

You are about to enter a strange and inhospitable world. During your quest you will meet unusual characters, travel across breath-taking landscapes, and discover ancient secrets.

The Protector and the Protected

Pseudo is a formidable warrior. Despite his outer stoicism, he is haunted by his memories and chooses to live apart from civilization. This quiet existence is upheaved when he meets a small orphaned creature whose incredible healing powers have attracted the attention of Gemini, the terrible mistress of the Artifacts. Unable to leave the boy to face this threat alone, Pseudo decides to protect him – not realizing that larger forces are at play.

The Only Law

In Zenozoik, there is only one law. According to an ancient custom, the rules of combat are determined by a game of dice using artifacts with special properties. To succeed, you will have to search for the most powerful of these artifacts, fighting your battles according to the ever-changing rules of the Ritual.

Martial Arts

To succeed in hand-to-hand combat, you must master all the ancient techniques. Every warrior, no matter how strong, has weaknesses that can be exploited. Grab your enemies, block their hits, stun them, dodge attacks… every opportunity seized takes you closer to victory, but mistakes can be fatal. To bring down the toughest opponents, you will have to perfect your skills.

One Night, Infinite Stars

Every night, Pseudo’s dreams are so vivid that they literally come to life. Enter his mysterious dreamscape and embark on a multiplayer adventure. Play co-op with up to three players or challenge other players in arena combat.
