Sir, You Are Being Hunted
It was a chilly, spring evening in O’Lution Manor when this first came to my attention and I must say, that my interest in gaming had been waning a bit, snatching short plays of casual titles rather than putting in any significant time playing anything of depth. Indeed, with my eldest son having largely commandeered the console, leaving me with the laptop and mobile devices, it seemed I was wandering into the realms of the casual gamer.
And then I came across Sir, You Are Being Hunted. The visual style and sense of humour lulled me in in and when I saw, yes, my word, it will run on my laptop, I decided to take the plunge.

The game is now out of Alpha, which means the developers are considering it more or less finished. In the past I made it clear how disappointed I was with how the game was turning out, and now I’d like to step back and review the game, the developers, and the history of both in their entirety.
The game taken completely by itself, with no consideration of the developers or the Alpha development phase, I feel is a decent but flawed stealth shooter. There’s some fun to be had in sneaking around in the tall grass, but nearly every other aspect of the game has something wrong with it.

Grey Skies: A War of the Worlds Story
I absolutely love War of the Worlds and anything that involves it.
But if you take the element of the novel and story out, unfortunately the game itself is mediocre at best. The game’s pretty to look at and the dev did a good job of making me feel like I was in England. But the mechanics are generic and the stealth was tedious. Enemies were bland, the crafting system wasn’t all that useful and the characters were next to non existent. I felt frustrated how there was so much stealth revolving avoiding what was basically Human zombies and far too little gameplay against surviving the actual Martians. Speaking of which, we don’t even get to see the Martians! We don’t see how they landed, when they landed and where the invasion began. We go through a drawn out string of avoiding people to get a tiny bit of Fighting Machine activity at the very end.

𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗕𝗨𝗬 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗚𝗔𝗠𝗘!!! Grey Skies is absolutely miserable, it is a combination of boredom and frustration. Grey Skies is a cheap, buggy and janky mess of a game.
There are a plethora of bugs that are down right annoying to deal with. The gameplay is extremely tedious and slow. Most of the time you’ll be running around a dull map looking for random crafting parts, that don’t really make sense (such as finding a red weed to make a glass of water). There are moments where you are forced to slowly walk down an empty, linear path for a few minutes straight, doing absolutely nothing. The music that starts in these walking sections ends before it is even finished, so you’ll be walking in silence for the last minute of the section. Also, the main mechanic in the game is throwing cups of water at generators.

UPDATE: THEY DO GIVE YOU A WEAPON BUT ITS ON THE GROUND AWAY FROM YOUR PERSON!!!
My Thoughts:
So, there are plenty of things about this game that I could talk about. I received this game from someone who didn’t want it so they had given me the key to redeem and try out. Is this game a bad concept? Absolutely not, but there are plenty of things about this game that I would say makes the $19.99 USD price-tag very high for what the game truly is. This game seems to have no story-line according to the description and what I have played so far. This game has you start off as a random person in the middle of a ongoing fight between what looks like humans and shadow-people with bright glowing eyes. Everyone will attack you on sight without really giving you time to find any weapons to defend yourself; this is due to the fact that you start out with ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and your health and hunger always starts out at 80% full capacity. You walk forward towards shipping containers and a building in front of you. You decide to walk to the right side of the building to find a singular bag with only 3 ITEMS and i haven’t found any type of weapon OTHER THAN GRENADES each time I search through one of these bags. That alone doesn’t make sense, since the bots always starts out with rifles and stuff so you are already outnumbered, without any guns in your inventory, with low nutritional statistics, and the enemies already have the upper-hand. You realize this, you freak out, try to kill them with the grenades that you had found, and you see the people are STILL STANDING AFTER IT HAD WENT OFF NEXT TO THEIR FEET. The enemies proceed to blow your brains out so you try to find a “Restart” button with no avail. The only buttons you find in the pause menu are “Resume” and “Main Menu”. You think to yourself “Okay, this is okay. I’ll just restart by going to the menu and starting a new game. Well sorry, you can’t do that. When you click “New Game”, you spawn in already dead as it DOESN’T restart you completely so your character dies as soon as the intro animation starts. So now you are forced to completely close the game USING TASK MANAGER to close the game and you are forced to relaunch it through steam or the launch icon for the game. So cool, you restarted a game, how about we go and get you a gun from this bag? Well the bag contains nothing but possibly health, food, grenades, and water; BUT NO GUN. So you take your loss and you want to continue on with your very short-lived adventure but sorry, you can’t find a button in the world that will close that menu. COME TO FIND OUT, THAT BUTTON ISN’T F LIKE IT SHOULD BE, ITS FREAKING TAB. TAB! Oh well, you try to continue but you die again and you are back to square one. So you try to find out how to use those very USEFUL GRENADES that you had gotten by revisiting the bag beside that building you are spawned by. Well, looking into the control options, you can’t bind anything yourself and it will only tell you how to do things like interact which is F BUT IT DOESN’T WORK TO LEAVE INTERACTIVE MENUS, and basic movement options. So you press every key on your keyboard and you find out that the Grenade button is G but throwing them is like chucking a FREAKING BOULDER so you throw the grenade and when you do, it doesn’t kill the enemies so you still die.

Anthology of Fear
The world that surrounds us is not always obvious. Sometimes the weirdest, unpredictable and unreal events have logical and very mundane explanations.
Anthology of Fear is three unique stories of such events taking place in different epochs and realities.
Take on the role of three heroes, control their actions and experience the horror of the early 20th century in the remote areas of Russia, contemporary drama taking place in an ordinary house, and unreal events between shreds of reality.
Each episode is unique gameplay with a set of different features. From the mere expulsion of the world, through hunting, to the struggle for one’s own existence.
-
Three unique stories - each of them is different locations and different from each previous style of the game.
-
Gameplay deriving solutions from the classics of the genre - do not expect simple and boring jumpscare. The mood of the game is built here by the atmosphere.
-
Psychologic horror - nothing that surrounds you must be obvious. Get deeper into the symbolism of the threads of history and get to know what really happened.
-
Exploration motivated by a story - the story will force you to explore each of the worlds of the game. Get to know all the stories and the laws that govern them.
Chibi Horror: The School
I really enjoyed this game as something different. You roam the halls of the haunted school, hoping not to run into the one active chaser as you collect eight books. Books appear in random locations each time, and you never know where the chaser is.
There are some jump scares, though they didn’t always appear in the same place or happen each time. Overall it’s pretty fun and you have infinite run and battery life. The only problem I had is that the chaser can spawn right in front of you even if you just left her a floor away, so there is an element of luck as well.

It’s like, Minecraft slender man but with your pixelated wives. You never know what they are going to do. They will stalk you and try to get your attention. If you are really lucky, you will never see any of them due to the way they randomly roams around. I am deathly scared of little girls stalking me so… it’s perfect for me. https://youtu.be/iYnCeasOte4

Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5
Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5. The alpha is 6/10 for me. Here are the Positives, the Art-style of the game is beautiful, the Controls and Physics are way better than the first game in my opinion, and messing around in the game is really fun especially seeing how the “AI” reacts to certain things.
Here are the Negatives, The Game is extremely un-optimized like I’m getting 30 fps sometimes, the puzzles are really difficult and random. For example, there’s a bored up window on the outside of the house and there’s a tree right next to it. Most would think that the tree has no collision BUT IT DOES! So you have to jump on the branch of that tree and throw an item through the window to hit a lever. WHAT THE HECK?!? and Finally my last complain is that the GUEST IS ALWAYS ON YOU! after going inside the house once he is always on you. That’s my review hope it helped a lot.

There are a lot of bugs here and there and there seems to be a countless amount of downgrades from the gameplay trailer we all got to watch and love but that doesn’t take away the outstanding new game we all are going to get sometime in 2021. The new gameplay features added to this new roleplaying horror game makes the series all the better. A brand new story with brand new characters cannot be denied as a good and well created game. Over the updates and new alphas this game will get, I truely hope this game will become what we all saw and loved from the gameplay trailer and that they clear the bugs and glitches. And with all that being said, this brand new sequal to this series is worth trying out and hopefully gets the attention and love that this game deserves.

Solicitude Wake-up
Pretty dam scary, only few issues that I had so far:
-Monsters sometimes camp in front of the door and never leave
-Can no longer grab items(might be an index issue)
-sometimes the shelfs dont open right away (possibly index)
-sometimes lose all the batteries (not sure what causing this)
The above can all be fixed by restarting the game.
Honestly good for the price I got it for and with some improvements I can see this being replayable

You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/KDhD-8-ua5A
Solicitude Wake-up is a VR Horror Survival game. Basically, you’ll be walking through very dark corridors, looking for batteries and keycards, while monsters roam around the hallways. You’ll have to navigate through the darkness with your handy flashlight, which needs constant battery recharges. Yeah, it’s that kind of horror game.
The darkness hides the pretty bad visual quality of this game, with the poor muddy textures, uninspired level design, and bland 3D models and animations. It is almost impossible to see without the flashlight and it’s also difficult to see with it. You will at times be able to hear monsters as they roam outside the door of your current room. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the highlight of the game.

Until Sunset
Until Sunset is a stealth puzzle, you need to think carefully before making any decisions.
You find yourself in a school shooting, you need to go out and also understand what happened. There are clues about what happened throughout the school, use this to your advantage.
There are several shooters in the school, try not to confront them, stealth is always better. Are you ready to escape this?

About This Game
“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away” Whiteside is a first-person survival horror game. As an investigator of the Common European Asylum System, explore an island where they keep the mentally insane that are beyond help, uncover the truth, but don’t believe everything.
Setting:
On an island that is now used as a mental/prison facility, part prison part asylum terror and horror awaits at Whiteside Asylum. An old hospital for the criminally insane who are hopelessly past rehabilitation. The island was deemed an ideal location for a prison/asylum. It is assumed no prisoner could ever escape or survive the cold ocean that surrounds it.
Acting as an investigator of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) it’s your duty to inspect the asylum to make sure it up to standards. Up on arrival straight away things seem off, and what you discover is only the beginning.
Features:
-
Survival horror: You will have to use all your wits to try and seek the truth but also survive in this horror slasher.
-
Enemy AI: Enemies will not be predictable there is no set path way, they can come anywhere and at any moment, you will feel very unsafe
-
Graphics: Whiteside utilizes the unreal engine 4 and has made use of nearly all the engines features, including real time volumetric lighting, high textures, pushing the boundaries of what computers can do to give of a truly AAA quality in the graphics department
-
Rich Story and multiple endings: Whiteside focuses on story as much as it does on graphics and performance and game play, in this rich story telling game the player has choices that can be made which will effect the outcome of the story, not only that but environments have different entrances and exists meaning there can be multiple ways around the environment.
-
Random Jump Scares: Whiteside has hand crafted jump-scares made to scare the player but only a few will generate during each play-through giving the player more reasons not to play again
Xenomare
Xenomare is a fun little Survival Horror Roguelike it very hard and I died a lot. In this game, you have to search for items and do the task then leave. This is all done well having to avoid and hide from the enemy. There are a few maps and difficulties. I was mostly playing on easy and was still dying a lot. This game does have a big problem with the full screen being off the screen to the bottom right. I fixed this by using a program called Borderless Gaming. Overall, I recommend giving this a try if you like Survival Horror games and afford to spend $8 if not you can wait for a sale. Just know this game is still an Early Access Game so the dev is still working on it.
