Wand Wars

Wand Wars

Wand Wars is a really polished game, and probably the best party-game I’ve ever played.

While there’s a clear Lethal League feel to it, it’s clearly more accessible, because the game mechanics are so simple. The problem with Lethal League is that even though it’s an excellent game, it has that fighting game aspect that makes it very complex. You’ve got to learn safe zones, angles of shooting, bunts, with or without jumps, special moves, etc… and consequently, when you hit 50 hours of playtime, your friends will be no match for you anymore.

I love playing four player co-op games that are suitable for groups of varied skill level. This game manages brilliantly, another title with simple controls but surpisingly deep gameplay. Plus superb art and visual effects, stuff that makes the gameplay feel super satisfying when you land that sick off the wall double kill. In addition to the main mechanic of playing dodgeball with a big ball of magic you have power-ups and the ability to turn other players into chickens (take that Kyle). Lastly the game comes with a good selection of maps, each with its own unique twist. One map has fires you can light with your chicken spell, light them all and you summon a minion to help you; another features bubbles that you must break to get the powerups. All in all this is one of those games that will have all your friends asking when they can stop by and play again.

Windjammers 2

Windjammers 2

25 years later, throwing flying discs at your opponents is still as cool as back in the days. Sequel to the NEOGEO cult classic Windjammers, Windjammers 2 is the perfect mix between what you loved about the classic title and brand-new mechanics.

Fast-paced, strategic, easy to learn but hard to master: Windjammers 2 follows the steps of the first episode and brings back what makes the Windjammers series an amazing fun and competitive game!

New challengers, new stages, brand-new mechanics and awesome new power moves will make your head spin and enhance your windjammin’ experience. Master the slapshot, dropshot, the jump, the smash and the powerful EX MOVE, and enjoy the kickass soundtrack coming straight out of the ’90s.

Sophie De Lys

“Soyez prêts !” It’s time to meet the French fashionable fast and furious Sophie De Lys and her super moves. One simple advice: choose the right way to go.

Max Hurricane

With his impressive silhouette, the Canadian champion isn’t here to joke around. He’s ready to blow anything out of his way with only one throw. Klaus Wessel, you’ve been warned.

10 years later, you would have thought Japan gave up on the jam? Hiromi Mita is still around with her fast and tricky curve shots shots that will make you regret facing her.

Klaus Wessel

After a decade of hard training, Klaus Wessel, also known as the Colossus from Germany due to his powerful shots, is back and ready to show Max Hurricane who’s the strongest jammer alive.

Loris Biaggi

Swift, strong, versatile… the Italian Loris Biaggi is still the great champion he was back in the days.

Steve Miller

He’s agile and a natural at pulling off reversals along with tricky curved shots. He’s back to prove that he is still in the game.

Gary Scott

The extremely muscular American competitor is once again here to show to his opponents how powerful he is. Get ready to see one of the most impressive shots of the game!

Jordi Costa

The all-round athlete Jordi comes back in the game after 10 years of training. His clinical shots and his speed are the assets that can lead him to win the championship!

After playing for a little over an hour, I can note a few points!

  • Nice graphics

  • A game about sports, not violence

  • Also, in the pluses, you can note the authors' statement about the appearance of major updates

-At the time of release, the game is played in about 2 hours, taking into account restarts

-Perhaps the price is too high, but if everything is as the developer describes and a collection of several games is waiting for us, then the price tag is very worthy

And so quite an interesting game, like Hotline Miami, but only about sports!

This game is so fun! It puts an exciting twist on classic arcade gameplay. One change of the rules can screw your opponent over! If I didn’t receive this game as a gift, I’d happily have paid for it!

There are now 3 bocce games for VR. Bocce VR Simulator is the newest edition. While I haven’t played the others, I can recommend this one. It’s solid all around. You can play single player against AI on easy, normal, or hard difficulty or you can play local multiplayer (pass the VR headset around for 2 players).

You have full locomotion available with snap turning. The physics seemed fine to me. The throwing physics and the ball collision physics all seemed realistic. I did not experience any issues playing this game. The game ran fine on my 1060 GTX at a steady 90 frames per second. It’s running on the Unity Engine.

DodgeBall VR

DodgeBall VR

Lots of bugs. Ball is hard to throw, since it seems to stick in place sometimes when you throw/release grip. Uses plenty of apparently stock assets and music. I’d be more interested in this game if it had multiplayer and if it were more developed. Concept is cool, but the game needs more work.

This game blows. Plain and simple. They are honestly just making these games more and more pay to win. It’s rediculous. Basically just a carbon copy of the last game with a few more novelty factors in it. Don’t waste the $25. Also, the physics SOMEHOW got worse. Developers, you should be fucking ashamed of yourselves. I mean did you even test this? Did you even sit down and see how long it would take to get to some of the higher level balls. Unbelievable.

Real player with 253.8 hrs in game

Hands down this is the best bowling game ive played since PBA tour on Playstation many years ago.

What this game does best is capture the pin physics really well, the ball reactions to the lanes and the subtle reactions to the 12 different oils patterns.

There’s no better feeling than blowing the 5 pin, or tripping up that 7 pin, or rapping the 10 pin down for the crucial strike, or kicking the ball return after leaving that solid cold 8 pin. the game itself is great, challenging and rewarding.

Rugby Challenge 4

Rugby Challenge 4

Basically just an update to RC3 Fixed some of the game play issues but not all. Graphics are ok and control model is good. The ability to edit teams and import new players to make squads accurate is a big plus. The poor and inaccurate commentary has been retained from RC3, but the new set moves are quite good.

What really continues to let this game down is the AI game play model. This seems to have been programmed to try to keep games even, coupled with really poor offensive and defensive programming. This results in periods where it decides the opposition needs to score and your team just make constant unforced errors, including:

I tried to like this game and ill probably still play since im stuck with this. This game has very few positives with a lot of negatives so ill just summarize everything first.

Pros

  • Really like the new creation a vast improvement over RC3. It makes player likeness very achievable.

  • Game play feels a bit smoother

  • New features like kit creation, Some more modes

Cons

  • 1st off the price

  • Trying to mod this game is bullsh*t now you have to use a lot of 3rd party software now since there is no Zip Pak file.

AFL Evolution 2

AFL Evolution 2

Alright firstly,

Massive improvement from the first evolution, i feel like the gameplay is very fair and if you mess up a marking contest it’s genuinely your fault. So good job from a gameplay stand point which is the reason i very much like this game.

HOWEVER…

Wicked Witch seem to just brush past some major details about this game where it seems like no effort was put in whatsoever. Here’s a list of those:

1, Commentating is even worse than evolution 1 the audio is pieced together so poorly it’s hard to listen to, also one player from the saints, hannenbury doesn’t even have his name called when he gets possession or kicks a goal, it just says. “great goal from….” as in he doesnt say the name. I think the commentating was honestly better on afl 2006 for the PS2, how is that possible?

I like this game. I’m a footy fan and decided to get this cause of the fact that I can change guernsey numbers for players. There are some suggestions I would make. I’d love to see them implemeted but it doesn’t bother me too much.

  • I’d like to be able to outright delist players in coach career mode. Even if they are on a contract (If they are, make me pay out the rest of the contract’s money or something) Perhaps I just don’t know how to do this. If so I’d like to be enlightened.

  • Please put in the Australian anthem that they use in real life AFL finals. That would be nice. Understandable if you can’t cause of legal reasons. This version is shit though.
