The Worst Game Ever
It may be called the worst game ever, but I have had alot of fun! It is for sure something that can take your mind off everything as you die over and over deciding which direction to go! For .99 this is a deal! Thanks dev!

There’s nothing I love more than getting to stay home all day and not get ready for anything, which is about half the week.

Active Mummy
Active Mummy is a “template flip”, that is to say, it’s a “game” that has been produced by copying a game template/filling out forms in GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional “product” on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple retro platformer game, and they added a basic Egyptian mummy tileset/sprites (probably also ripped off from somewhere).
GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and results in terrible games like this one.

BasketBelle
I really enjoyed BasketBelle. One word I would use to describe it is charming. It’s a short game, roughly 1 hour, give or take if you try for the final achievement, but it’s very well made. This review is a short overview - there’s not too much to cover given the game’s length, but the execution and charm more than make up for it. Definitely worth playing if you already own it, or if you get on sale - the full price would be fine for people that don’t mind game length so much.
The story follows a young lad trying to find/ rescue his sister after she is kidnapped. The story has lots of warm moments, and I was pleasantly surprised how in such a short span of time, such vivid feelings were conveyed. You’ll see what happens when you play the game, there’s not much to elaborate without giving away everything, but the story was sweet and warm.

BasketBelle is an experimental Basketball-platformer-puzzle arcade game.
While the game itself is very simple each section offers it’s own unique challenge and mechanics, wither it’s playing in a one-on-one basketball game with a person or monster, using your basketball to solve platforming puzzles or flying through the sky avoiding obstacles. Each section is short and sweet and could have been developed into their own much larger/longer games but here they last just long enough to give you a taste before the next course of this delightful meze.

Epic Skater 2
Great Game.

Last review was of the early access version. Only right to do the full version of the game. This game is Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2D basically. And by basically, I mean WTF I played this 5 hours straight a day?? The game is great, every problem/ bug thrown at the devs they fixed at a resonable timeframe. Achievements are good to go after, and 100 of them. Devs listen on their discord. For an eternity of re-playability, get yourself a THPS/ THPS2 soundtrack playlist and go on a mix of nostalgia and new age gaming wave to really put yourself in a fucking early 2000’s gaming nuthouse.

HackyZack
Follow our Curator Group for more reviews
HackyZack is a 2D puzzle platformer focused on challenging mechanics and complex level design. Levels usually require a good amount of trial and error in order to really understand how to beat it. After that, the challenge becomes executing your plan.
Gameplay in HackyZack is essentially a Super Meat Boy style of platforming, combined with a ball you have to juggle around with you. While the levels are much more compressed and small, they retain a lot of the difficulty that comes with a game like Super Meat Boy.

This game was fantastic until it tried to be Meat Boy and then it sucked. The game’s controls are nowhere near reliable enough for what they want you to do in some of these levels. It’s real easy to slip up and do a diagonal input when you don’t want to, and it will almost definitely end your attempt. The slippery nature of the game was challenge enough, but then it gets to a point where you’re just… playing Meat Boy.
The game’s main mechanic and how much fun it was is put to the side and you now get to avoid spikes and make tedious jumps. In the level I’m stuck on, you don’t even get to the ball that controls the real ball until you make a couple of jumps through spikes, so after you die a bunch just trying to get to the part where you can play the fun part of the game, one little mistake means you get to do it all again! Unlike Meat Boy, however, the edge of the screen is usually really close to the playing field, and it kills you. I can’t think of many things in the history of my playing video games that has frustrated me more than kicking the ball up in place while I think about the next section, after finally getting through a difficult section, and poof, ball is gone. If you want something up there to kill me then put something there. I also find it pretty easy to lose track of your character sometimes. You fade out when you double jump for some reason, and on certain backgrounds and sections that were especially chaotic I lost many attempts to not being able to find myself.

Platform Golf
Nice little 2D golf game. There are various levels that keep you busy, trying to beat your best score.

Platform Golf is an extremely addictive 2D, physics, golf game.
One of those games that you normally play on your phone.
It reminds me a lot of the game Angry Birds, which i have played endlessly.
This game is relaxing, fun to play, addictive and at times highly frustrating to achieve a perfect score.
Not only do you need to try to get your ball inside the hole, but also grab diamonds and coins along the way.
To make that even more challenging, they added bouncy mushrooms, obstacles and water.
The developer recently added a leader board to the game, which makes you try even harder to achieve that perfect score.

Soccer Kid
I really loved this game as a kid - an enjoyable side scroller, with interesting features, good settings, good music and memories of World Cup 94 all tied in. There were many versions but as far as I know I had the best, which was the Amiga. I don’t know what this port is based on but it’s so disappointing - the scrolling and controls don’t even work properly together, which makes it virtually unplayable. Was it really that difficult to release a properly functioning version of this for the price?

Very slow port of a good game especially when jumping down. I would not recommend this game.

Spent about an hour on this before beating it. For some of the levels it is impossible to get 3 stars which pains my completionist mindset. The controls are pretty finnicky and sensitive to begin, but you get used to them after about 10 min of playing. It is only a dollar if you don’t get it from giveaway.su, but even then i wouldn’t recommend buying it.

Dark Roll: Free Kick Challenge
Very fun game, downloaded it completely out of interest and have spent a decent amount of time playing it since.
Single player challenges start simple and ramp up in difficulty, and are a good way to learn different ways to hit the ball, ranked singleplayer modes are also enjoyable, and the leaderboards are competitive, with people consistently one-upping each other to be the best. The dev also actively deletes cheaters from the leaderboards to keep them legit
Multiplayer is a ton of fun, and a great way to play a nice quick game and climb the ladder. I’ve enjoyed ranking up through the ladder, and it’s nice queuing into the same high ranked people and adapting from their playstyles (HarryCane is in my head rent free, steals my rank everytime)

This game is very fun, whether you are bored or you’re actually in a mood to play a game like this. Lots of single player challenges that get reasonably more difficult, and ability to get all orbs is possible, though tedious. Only thing I would consider is making the ranking system a bit better (like how I deranked after just one match as a new rank, and even after being on a TWELVE game winning streak and then losing once again, I’m now an even lower rank), maybe some type of visible MMR or point system, and add more various challenges and modes (if possible)
