Knockout City™

Knockout City™

I haven’t been this excited about a game in a long time. The game developers did so many things right.

The game play is a ton of fun no matter how you play it - with friends in private matches or going solo in multiplayer. It’s been years since I wanted to go solo in a competitive game. Queuing up by myself has never been something I cared to do until this game. Now I find myself playing for hours with other randos.

The game mechanics simple to learn and there’s so many advanced tactics to discover and master. There are awesome moments in the game when you make good plays and even when you get styled on you can’t help but respect the other players for what they pulled off. Matchmaking feels typical 50/50, but I always feel like I can make an impact which is the biggest difference between other games.

If you’re chilling at Hideout waiting for your ban to lift, do not, and I mean DO NOT think of riding those floating cars above you.

I’ve experienced the same fantasies you did;;::

""" Perhaps if we ride those cars, they would take us to some mystery hidden spot that will unlock some achievement, or better yet, we would have a phenomenal ride around the city! I meann… There is no way the developers would have these periodically spawning cars above us that take us nowhere.. right??? WRONG!!!

Supraball

EDIT: I just can’t recommend the game right now due to the lack of players. When the playercount increases to the point where you can fairly easily get into a game with people at similar skill levels to you I’ll remove this edit. Just bear in mind the low playercount if you’re considering buying the game.

EDIT 2: Since the game is now free there’s really no reason not to try it. As of 10th September 2017 the playercount is such that you can pretty quickly find a game, and if there are empty spots the bots are pretty reasonable to play with.

Been playing the game since almost 5 months now. At first it’s difficult to get used to all the controls, but that problem disappears after a few days/weeks. Supraball helps with your aim, quick thinking and team game (well, only if you’re willing to play in a team).

The community is as much of a pro as a con: you can find friendly ppl and toxic ones too. The higher-lvl players know each other (at least by usernames), so it has that ‘big, dysfunctional family’ feeling to it once you advance to a certain lvl.

Virtual Pool 4 Multiplayer

Virtual Pool 4 Multiplayer

Bought the game a few months ago and must say loving it, it’s not only pool that you can play but an whole variation of games on a pool table or snooker table.

And you can play also games on a normal billiards table like Three Cushion Billiards and One Cushion Billiards.

The rooms where you can play have all different tables with their own atmosphere, even the table speed and pockets are adjustable the way I like it the best.

I was looking for a game that came close to the real thing and must say they “don’t come better than this”!

Hard to go wrong here - the online, multiplayer version of one of the best simulations of cue sports!

If you enjoy your pool (any of a vast number of disciplines), this is the game for you.

If you enjoy your snooker, this is the game for you.

There is the odd inaccuracy in the default setups - side stays on balls a little longer than is realistic, and pockets are typically more forgiving - but there are many options to adjust settings if you so choose, the latter among them. Among the more novel of features is one that sees the cue sometimes address the cue ball off-centre, until you correct it. Very realistic.

AFL Evolution

It’s rough around the edges but with tweaking of settings you can get the feel of watching or playing in a real AFL game. It has some frustrating features but in all fairness, as my hours played shows, I have gotten my moneys worth of enjoyment from this game.

Coach Career mode is what I have played and enjoyed the most.

Even there. some things need tweaking by the Devs. Clubs patience with a new coach should be softened, no real life bottom ladder club signs a new coach and expects them to play in a Grand Final or even finals in their first year. Also, AI clubs should, I feel, be much more agressive and less accomodating come player draft/trade time.

So my first few hours of experience goes as follows:

“I started a couple of practice matches to get the hang of the game.

First practice match was AFL Women’s team Melbourne Demons VS the Under 18s team NT Thunder, in which the women won comfortably over the kids.

After only two matches I felt I was getting the hang of the controls, so I started a career mode. I created my character, a 28 year old 5'7” Right Half Forward playing with Gippsland Power in the Under 18s TAC cup.

A few games in, and everything was feeling too easy, the controls were getting pretty intuitive. Bump up to medium difficulty, and that seems to be decent, yet still easy enough to learn for now.

AO Tennis 2

I wanted to like this game, and it has it’s positive points. So while I don’t recommend it, it’s not without some reservations as it does have a few redeeming qualities.

Graphically this game is better than most, if not all others out there. It’s not “next gen” quality, perhaps they need a bigger budget for that, but if tennis and graphics quality are your thing, I doubt you will find a better option.

cut scenes/cinematics, are a nice touch. If you have no patience for these things, you can cut them short and get right back to it. Otherwise bask in the glory of a good game as you sit down and take a drink from your bench on a change over, or stare at your cool shoes as you slow motion walk onto the court.

This review is solely about the gameplay when going against the AI and my experience starting the career mode.

Even at the amateur difficulty level, It’s really hard playing against the AI if you try to play normal tennis as a new player. You can cheese drop shots and chip and charge because the game is broken in that way, but that’s not what I’m looking for. If you just care about winning, then cheesing as I’ve mentioned is the way to go, and you won’t find the game difficult at all. All of the issues I have with the game are about how hard it makes it to play normal tennis.

AXIOM SOCCER

AXIOM SOCCER

What’s this? A game where you use hoverdrones to shoot a ball into the opponent’s goal? Rocket League with guns?! Oho, I am SO up for that!

Summary

A diamond in the rough, this is a ball game with a clunky UI but extremely fun and satisfying gameplay even at this early access stage. It’s easy to learn but hard to master and the ways to improve your skill go beyond simply understanding how to aim at the ball. There’s massive potential here that I hope the devs can capitalise on, but meanwhile it’s a blast that I’d recommend to any fan of Rocket League or Supraball!

Real player with 36.2 hrs in game

Fun little early access title. I played through Beta and had a good time with it.

Easiest way to describe it is “3rd person shooter Rocket League”, but try not to get hung up on the RL comparisons. Axiom Soccer is still and early access title - it’s rough around the edges and a lot of details (some of them fairly major) are still being worked on. RL is of course far more polished/fine tuned, but bare in mind that RL’s beginnings started over a decade ago - it’s had the time to build a community, acknowledge feedback and grow; Something I hope Axiom will be able to achieve too!

Curling On Line

Curling On Line

Curling On Line is a Faithful recreation of the Curling sport. It has very sophisticated mechanics that make for a very fun game indeed. It is well worth getting past the ‘learning curve’, as the satisfaction of performing complex shots is immeasurable. The graphics and sound design are ok but leave some more to be desired. The only bug that I have come across is that about 4 stones into a multiplayer match, the game will suddenly end.

Never appears to be more that the last stone so no build up of stones in/around the house.

Graphics simple and OK for price but not a game of curling when only one other stone on the rink.

Happy to be corrected if I’m missing something but as I see it a waste of money.

Dino Dini’s Kick Off™ Revival - Steam Edition

Dino Dini’s Kick Off™ Revival - Steam Edition

Dino Dini’s Kick Off Revival has taken a lot of stick over the last year after the PS4 release, In my mind, largly due to a misunderstanding of what the game is. This is not a football simulation. Kick Off Revial tries to capture the essence of football in an arcade style game and put the player in full control of what happens on the pitch.

This means the ball does not stick to your player.

Passing direction and power is not assisted

You can run in any direction

Height of kicks and shots is player controlled.

I played the original kick off for a million hours when I was a kid and i have so many fond memories of it that I was a bit dubious about this remake (especially after reading the reviews).

But I took the plunge and I’ve got to say, I think it is even better than the original!!

The same lightning fast gameplay and natural feeling controls - even though it’s still one button, I think the controls are much more refined now with an analogue controller.

A warning though - you need to practice…a lot!

RATINGS

| GFX | 9/10 | A great job with 3d model, Nice particle effects and interactive scenary. |

| GAMEPLAY | 10/10 | The mechanics are simple and easy to remember. |

| REPLAYABILITY | 10/10 | I’ve been playing windjammers for over 20 years and now we have Disc Jam. Simple games just don’t get old. As long as you have someone to play with you will be coming back to this game over and over again. |

Mechanically, the game is fantastic. The amount of different shots you can throw due to the slick controls is amazing. The concept is brilliant althought technically it has been done before (OG windjammers) I think that Disc Jam is the superior game of the two, the “from the back” viewpoint suits the game much better and allows for true 3d.

The game suffers from 2 major problems.

1: Lack of content. There is a training mode, offline vs bots/local player singles or doubles, and online singles or doubles. That’s it. And every single one of them is pretty much exactly the same. No interesting new arenas or new mechanics or mutators.
