Polynomial 2 - Universe of the Music

Polynomial 2 - Universe of the Music

Well that sure is a game that’s gonna scratch an itch long forgotten about by the industry at large.

Well has the industry ever considered this type of game with a great deal of respect to begin with ? That’s a question for another day.

Polynomail 2 might be only at the start of its existence and its adventure, but straight from the start we can see ourselves linking it to a long legacy of games made to get you “into the zone” .

If just like me you’ve cherished games such as Jeff Minter’s Tempest 2000 , Space Girafe, Gridrunner Revolution, or hell Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s Rez or Child of Eden or outside of the shooting game genre his feverfull Lumines series , The two Playstation 1 game oddities that were Internal Section and Vib Ribbon (a game that is still better experienced on its original hardware by the way) . Then if I tell you that Polynomial 2 is apparently setting itself for the very same kind of experience then you know what I am talking about.

Released six years after the original game I was pretty excited to see how Polynomial 2 had changed from the original.

The first game, The Polynomial, I initially found quite confusing and unintuitive, but after a little while of trying to get used to it I found that there was some fun to be had. There was a lot of personalization when it came to what arenas you could play in (and therefore what aesthetic you had), what animator type you used (which could change the tone a fair bit) and what sound visualizer settings you had. It wasn’t something I was particularly drawn in by, and didn’t put much time into but it was a unique game, which was nice to look at and something fairly chill to play.

Beat Hazard 2

Beat Hazard 2

We all enjoy listening to music. But when was the last time you played your music? This is Beat Hazard, an intense twin-stick space shooter powered by your favourite artists and songs.

Bigger. Better. Brighter

Beat Hazard 2 builds on everything that made the first game successful—then takes it to the next level. For example, the new “Open Mic” system detects and uses the audio output from your PC. This means you can play to literally any music source. YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music? Everything’s supported. Feel like some karaoke? Plug in your mic and start singing! The game uses ACRCloud Music Recognition to detect and identify your tracks automatically and update scores to a track leaderboard where you can compete with other players. The visuals have been overhauled with new art and a gorgeous 3D lighting system. Crank up that visual intensity to 300% and enjoy the carnage! Encounter massive procedurally generated bosses created by your music.

_I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting to be positive about this game, until I got to finally play it.

For someone who didn’t play the original Beat Hazard before, I can easily say that it’s really fun game._

Beats powered by YOUR music! EMBRACE THE SEIZURE!!

Beat Hazard 2 is a music-driven arcade shooter where you pilot a spaceship that fights ridiculous amount of space junk asteroids, other battleships and numerous intimidating flagships while listening to the beats of music pumping through your ears.

Haul Asteroid

Haul Asteroid

Catch Asteroid - Haul Asteroid - Grind Asteroid

A simple, minimal game that is difficult to master. Chaotic movements from the double pendulum + varied weights of asteroids require intuition and focus.

My first published game + characters designed by my son. Hard but addictive. Two great songs.

LATEST LEVEL ADDED: GRAB ASTEROID!! Now asteroids fly by from all directions - You must chase one down and drag or throw it into the grinder. Avoid the other flying asteroids which can knock you off course or use them to bang another asteroid into the grinder!

Features:

• Simple & minimal yet challenging & addictive!

• A 99¢ game you can play forever!

• Double pendulum game play!

• Experience all 3 of Newton’s Laws of Motion!

• Rocket-powered Tardigrade!

You are a mutant Tardigrade - a bizarrely resilient micro-animal that has been massively enlarged via CRISPR gene editing and fitted with rockets and a double-pendulum entanglement beam to mine asteroids. Haul the asteroids into the grinder without grinding yourself and make BILLIONS!

Each asteroid will have random rotation and mass(from very light to massive) which makes them behave differently when connected to a moving player. To start, the asteroids are easiest and become more challenging as your score increases. Later sparkling asteroids are chaotic, very difficult and very lucrative.

Super simple controls:

Fly by WASD/ Arrow keys or XBOX thumbstick.

Toggle Energy Beam ON and OFF with space bar or XBOX A.

S.N.O.R.B.I.C.E G.L.U.N.K. TARDIGRADE :

Super Normal Organism. Regular Biotraits: Intact. Crispr: Extreme.

Glial Level Upgrade: Need to Know.

Additional languages included are Hindi and Indonesian. Game and music by solo developer. Released on Steam, iOS & Android

Love those space-arts at the background, looks atmospheric :)

I was an indepented beta-tester, and after release I can say with my honor that I can recommend this game.

Single-player is pretty hard, but I get a nice feeling when finally understand how to solve puzzles, also they seem like well-designed and each of them is like small (or sometimes big) task. And ending… Yeah, nice one :)

Versus mode becomes INCREDIBLY fun when you achieve a full control under your movements and ball, also it’s a nice choice to spent time when there’s 4 of you.

Nice little oldfag thing, really enjoyed it. No bugs so far, hope none will be in the future. The gameplay shows the guys have done a great job. Though I had to spend some time reapplying controls but it was worth. This game will be appreciated by those who like challenges because each level always requires a portion of thinking =)

This game is great to have fun with some friends. If you are playing with friends, I would suggest using controllers so that the keyboard isn’t cramped. When playing solo, some of the characters are much better at certain levels, so I would suggest you switch characters if you can’t figure the level out with the one you are using.

Oscillatron: Alien Frequency

Oscillatron: Alien Frequency

If you like games that can use your music library it’s a decent shooter. I like the little slow time effect it adds on my music. If your track is noisy and at full volume at all times it’s easy mode. The medkits blocking your bullets is an odd decision. For the low 90% off Summer Sale price I can recommend it.
