Starlight Explorers

Starlight Explorers

It’s a fun way to learn about gravity and orbits, with a story designed to welcome a younger audience to those concepts. Beyond that, the simple aim-and-release gameplay is versatile enough to range from a meditative squiggle-drawing activity to a fiendish spatial-reasoning challenge.

The game is very relaxing and satisfying when you find the right trajectory. For me, Starlight really shines toward the middle of the story missions where the planets are no longer shown and you must find them through their gravitation pull.

Nirvana Pilot Yume

I love the concept for this game - visual novel + SkyRoads (which was an amazing DOS game where you piloted a little space car hopping along interstellar highways) is such a good, fresh idea. Nirvana Pilot Yume also throws in a great synthwave soundtrack as well as an artistic style that reminds me of 80s anime and vaporwave music videos. The visual novel aspect of the game is really well written, and the dialogue is enjoyable and the sex scenes natural and non-cringy.

The racing sections are a little rough at the moment - I think my biggest problem is that the tracks are REALLY hard, or at least the difficult bumps up dramatically after the first track, which is dirt easy. It’s quite hard to see what exactly is coming your way, because the vantage point is directly at the horizon whereas in SkyRoads, you had somewhat more of an overhead view, and thus more time to react and move your ship around obstacles. In Nirvana Pilot Yume, I feel like there’s almost no time to react at all because stuff is coming at you so fast, and the collision detection is VERY sensitive. The brake option also doesn’t seem to do much at the moment but pull the camera in closer, and currently when I try slowing down in all tracks after the first one, the speed meter at the top doesn’t change. (Not sure if this is a bug or not.)

I recently received this game for free as a curator connect offer for my group Visual novel, JRPG, Anime. First of all, this visual novel is an adult eroge visual novel with a few NSFW CGs. For those who don’t mind adult visual novels, read on.

This romance visual novel with arcade racing and platforming segments by Dev9k features a male protagonist Mitur Aldaine. Mitur graduated from an Academy and became the greatest racer of Alba Proxima and an Eye in a futuristic world where territorial contests between different orbital stations are decided by races among spaceships.

This game is awesome.

I’ve played plenty of 2D shooters in space, and this is by far one of them.

I have a lot of praise and a couple of complaints. I’ll skip the praise because you can find that elsewhere, or just look at the gameplay for yourself.

This game’s difficulty curve is ridiculous. Assuming you, like me, haven’t played the original game, you’ll be thrown into the gameplay right away with very little time to adjust to the unique mechanics of ship-building and combat. There are a lot of different parts to build with and constructing a powerful ship is more nuanced than throwing a bunch of pieces together. In many cases, a tiny ship is more effective than a large ship, but building a large ship is half the fun.

In Korea, Captain Forever, well-known as “우주선 키우기”, became famous while playing by the number of online BJ.

The original version of Captain Forever can be played by connecting to “http://www.captainforever.com/captainforever.php" , Captain Successor as the extension addition that you can play after purchasing $20.

Well then, where to start…

This game is mostly text, but there are gameplay elements, so if you like being invested in a great story, look no further. As one might guess, this takes place in space. The gameplay elements are not very complicated, though some of them are luck based. Average time for a full playthrough is around 10h. You can grab it on sale, but normally the price shouldn’t be very high. The art (the scenes) is quite good, the lore is original and the world (The exploration part) is rather well-made for a 2.5D game. It is not a very difficult game. I really enjoyed it and would recommend you give it a try.

A beautiful experience with great story, deep lore, outstanding music and artworks.

The gameplay consist of planet explorations, puzzle solving, try / roll for luck mechanic tailored into this masterpiece.

If you’re searching for something with deep and emotional story, try this.

The soundtracks are definitely worth the purchase. so if you can, get the game with it.

10/10 Absolutely Recommended.

UPDATE #1: Started the game up again to continue and the very first time this was done couldn’t continue. In fact, I don’t even know if you can continue because it was too broken and I had to restart. Recommendation downgraded to a NO at this time. Will upgrade if this problem is fixed.

Decided to test this again and quickly played to the same location. Exited. Started. And the game continued exactly where I left off. So it should indeed continue the game when working correctly.

Did some more testing and the story video file mentioned below needs to be played as if you continue there’s no other opportunity to do so. It just won’t play regardless of what I do. So I could upgrade it to a yes based on the above only happening once but having part of the story missing keeps it a no and I won’t play anymore at this time. For now, I will wait and see if they fix it.

Returner 77 is a minimium hinted “unlock this device” type puzzle game. It have a space mysterous story background and well crafted “out of this world” settings, which is very similar to the famous “the Room” series.

The Good:

  • First half of story is interesting

  • Puzzle is original and challenging

  • Overall Difficulty is little bit harder than “the Room”

  • FMV Voice log keeps you move forward until the end

The Bad:

  • Second half of story is completely off track on the original mission

  • Ending didn’t explain well for the mystery

The Turing Test

The Turing Test

The Turing Test is a first person puzzle game. There are 7 chapters, each with 10 puzzles per level. In each chapter, there is also a bonus challenge puzzle. When a new room is entered, a snippet of dialogue will feed the player story in small increments. When the end of a chapter is reached, a non-puzzle room can be explored to get more of the game’s story. Puzzles will scale up in difficulty as the game progresses, and each new chapter will introduce a new mechanic. The character we control is a woman named Ava Turing. With the aide of an AI named T.O.M, we progress through the game and try to find our missing crew members.

When I first heard of this game, knowing of the concept of The Turing Test, and having an interest in psychology I was really looking forward to where this game could lead. Reluctantly I have to say that I think this game was hyped up too much when it first came out, and when I played it a little while ago now, found it underwhelming. It’s a great game, but the hype created a high expectation. If you want to play this game, don’t expect too much and I feel like you will enjoy it more.

If you read the description for this game before you play, it creates intrigue, and already puts ideas in your head. It gets you thinking and conspiring even before you start the game.

Such wasted potential

Definitely try the demo first to see if this floats your boat. Be warned of some terrible design among the stunning gameplay

Chorvs is an impressive debut, featuring some exciting space action, decent visuals, and a story that has some promise. Unfortunately, it’s let down by some questionable choices about the art design, controls, and gameplay. This game really could’ve been exceptional but for each good element being balanced out with an equally terrible one. It’s games like these why Steam needs a middle rating rather than a thumbs up or down.

I usually don’t write reviews before I finished a game, but this one is the exception since it’s so damn good, I thought I spread the word a bit since I’m not seeing it get the attention it deserves…sadly. In short: this is worth EVERY PENNY, absolutely brilliant double A game and great value for the price.

Long version: So, the game is an arcade space combat shooter. If you’ve played Freelancer, Darks star one, Everspace etc…. then you know exactly what I mean. It’s not a full price game so expect some double A jank, but few and far between. The game also had no bugs whatsoever while playing, which is a breath of fresh air in today’s industry.

I went around all the locations, looked at all the objects, read the text in the form of notes, books, tablets, the calculation is exactly for this. I can say: really beautiful graphics and room design from the point of view of the interior. Good work with light and bloom and light dispersion effects, the emphasis is on creating darkness in rooms, but at the same time it does not seem like it is not enough. As for the music, it is a masterpiece, the author of the music perfectly conveyed the atmosphere of a melancholic space travel. And an important part is the plot, which creates the right mood, perhaps it is typical for this kind of games, but it is not repulsive, but rather intriguing. All of the above creates an emotional and memorable atmosphere. A question for the developers: how could you f*ck up such a project and not complete the plot in the second part, or at least in this part? I’m really sorry.

Space Pilgrim Episode I: Alpha Centauri

Overview:

Space Pilgrim Episode I: Alpha Centauri is a casual point-and-click RPG set in a sci-fi universe where Captain Gail Pilgrim makes her livelihood transporting cargo and passengers aboard her father’s old starship. In predictable fashion, something goes awry when the ship is in space, and the adventure begins.

Graphics and Sound:

What are you expecting for a game that you get “awarded” coupons for on Steam for crafting badges? Alright, I won’t cut any corners this time! The graphics and sound are both comparable to the graphics and sound to games made in the fourth generation of consoles, which is good enough for me, since I find game graphics from that generation to be aesthetically pleasing, and this game’s graphics are no exception. There’s nothing in particular that I like about the graphics, but there’s nothing I would consider game-breaking about any of the graphics.

Space Pilgrim Episode III: Delta Pavonis

Space Pilgrim Episode III: Delta Pavonis

Gail Pilgrim and her co-pilot Sabina White set course to Leto, in Delta Pavonis. After ousting the police out of their spaceship and helping the rebellion, they need to stay low. Leto is a planet with many retired rebels or pilots and Gail’s dad is living there. So, while Sabina will try to get Emet out of the space port and make sure that the android isn’t spotted, Gail will try to find her dad as he disappeared and help friends of his… Seems to be easy, eh?

This third game continues the plot from the second episode. As usual, it’s full of humor, of Gail putting herself in impossible situations, though Sabina is now joining her in that field. True, the ending wasn’t the one I was expecting and I’m eager to discover the final episode but it’s nice to have a story that isn’t revolving around space ships.
