LET IT DIE

LET IT DIE

I found out about this game while looking at random people’s broadcasts. And i’m glad i got to know about it! It’s released for PS4 about 2 years back and I’m guessing they just port it to PC like a year later?..

Now that said, i’ve only decided to write a review ONLY after about 800+ hrs of gameplay.. yes; 800+ hrs i played this game and only then i’ve decided to say whether it is worth your time/ money on this. This is my in-depth review.

IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO READ THROUGH ALL THESE EXPLANATION JUST SKIP TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH.

Disclaimer: I actually love this game, but I also love many other games and lying is possibly the dumbest thing anyone can ever do, so I’m offering you my completely honest and objective opinion about the things at hand, which comes from an experienced player and someone who plans on continuing to play this game.

Also, if you like this game, check out the “Elminage” series, “Elminage Original” and “Elminage Gothic” are on steam and you’re going to love them.

Chair Simulator

Chair Simulator

This game has given me purpose in life. I sit down. I stand up. I sit down. I stand up. The simplicity, yet challenge in this task represents the dualism of the universe. The strain from standing up relieved from the bliss that is sitting down. From the short 75 minutes I spent on this game before writing the review has morphed my entire outlook on life. I have learned the pain of death, the stress of pain, and the stresslessness of sitting. I sit and think. Think about the meaning of life. Think about my purpose here on this earth. And I have received enlightenment. I am the chair. I sit here with my arms on its doing exactly what it’s doing. I am becoming a vessel for the universe to pass through and maybe sit, gifting me with knowledge. I was lost before finding this game. Mindlessly going through the factory of life without much thought, this game has opened my eyes to the possibilities of this world that are sitting right in front of us. Overall, this game has been an eye opening experience that I would recommend everyone should try.

! You came. You sat. You conquered!

You’ve warmed countless seats, leaving a deep and indelible impression on each and every one!

Well done, sitlord.

! But…

! Sitting has changed you.

! You look down, now, at these limbs, at all this sinew and flesh. It seems so excessive, doesn’t it? Limbs, flaying. Appendages. Poorly-designed. A bit old-fashioned. Outdated? The real you has been trapped here, hasn’t it? Here, in this prison made of flesh.

It’s a thought you’ve entertained before, isn’t it? Privately. In dreams.

The Shimmering Horizon and Cursed Blacksmith

The Shimmering Horizon and Cursed Blacksmith

You opened your eyes, but nothing could be seen.

Suddenly, one string of dim light shone through the darkness.

As you followed the light of hope, it slowly turned from azure to crimson.

Once again, your consciousness faded away…

You opened your eyes, and found yourself in the middle of nowhere.

A mysterious girl, with her monotonous tone, spoke of various confusing matters.

Safe House. Purpose. Erosion. Death.

The only way to grasp the truth is to hold on the black sword of yours,

and fight against “This World,” no matter the consequences…

“Go explore the dungeon, you only need to focus on that thing right now."

“It’s nearly impossible for you to get through the dungeon all by yourself, even though you are holding that powerful dark sword."

“If enemies come in your way, the only thing you can do is to defeat them."

“Lighting this place up, that would my duty…"

“I will stay with you right here. Try all you can, through hell and fire’s end…"

The Final Boss of Asset Flips

This game is a very cheap & obvious asset flip comprised of stock content. There are a number of stock maps for you to progress through as you fight stock enemies whilst gaining XP to unlock more stock moves from the games stock combat system. One such move allows you to perform “a series of strokes” - this is the only series of strokes you will be performing as there is no nudity in this game despite the nudity and sexual content tags on the steam page.

It’s cheap, so there’s that, but it does cost time, and your time is better spent elsewhere.

Bugs and missing features

The trailer for the game is quite nicely done, but shows essential mechanics/features of the game which do not work or are not available yet! This is real bad.

[[[[- When I press TAB (ingame on the left screen side), the control should actually be displayed. However, this is immediately hidden again. (there is no menu for controlls in the main screen just graphics settings).

  • When I press the left mouse button, I hear a sword swinging, but the character neither picks up the sword nor swings it. Nor does anything happen when I press the right or middle mouse button. So the complete attack animations are missing (for more read below)]]]]

My Thoughts

Considering this game was made by a dev team of only 15 people, they did a brilliant job in making their own Souls-like game, you can clearly see the people who made this are huge DS fans, they even go on to say via their own Twitter and webpage that they took inspiration from the DS games and wanted to put a unique twist on it, safe to say they did it.. with a low budget this game is polished than most AAA titles out there, it is everything you expect from a FromSoftware title.

I started this game hoping for a great souls-like with a unique twist. For starters the harden mechanic is genius and is one of the best parts of the game. There are 4 weapon types and only one of them actually makes you feel powerful. There are 4 shells but only one has the stamina to allow more that one combo before backing off for 30 seconds. The game does have the brutal difficulty you might expect, however it isn’t done in an engaging way. Every enemy of the game is beaten in the exact same way. Hold back until your stamina is full, do 1-3 attacks, harden to avoid the counterattack, hold back for 30 seconds, and repeat. Out of the three temples one of them is invalidated by a single ability from the best shell and another one is a massive, empty, poorly thought out mess that punishes you for exploring by ambushing you the moment you pick up the item. (This is a repeated thing not just a once off.) After beating the boss in each temple the game goes into “Fog Mode” and rearranges the temples to make it difficult to leave. Essentially punishing you for completing your objective. Your objective being completely obscured and barely even existing outside of: “Beat the Game”. Despite all of this harsh criticism, I have more that twenty hours and two playthroughs down and am considering a third. I genuinely don’t understand what kept me going through this game for multiple runs but it keeps me coming back. The visuals are absurdly good, the alternate soundtrack absolutely rips (please use the Blood Christ soundtrack it’s the best), and it kept me going for multiple playthroughs. However, the difficulty is poorly constructed, the freedom to choose the way you play is punished often, and the game is strangely buggy for being months out from release, and it spends far too much time punishing you for playing the game. Despite all that I still find it captivating. My rating is a 4/10. Just below average enough that I really can’t recommend it strongly but not so bad I don’t think it shouldn’t be played if you find it interesting. Given it’s around 10 hours of playtime and I couldn’t see paying more than $20 for it in it’s current state.

Rage Wars

Rage Wars

Let me start by saying you would be hard pressed to find a game as good as rage wars out there on the market right now. The only thing that can even come close is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and even then it’s still a clear second place. This game has consumed my life and I know for a fact that it will consume yours if you give it a chance.

Pros:

Cheap- The 1 dollar price tag is nothing. That’s the cost of a hamburger from mcdonalds. Needless to say you CAN afford this game.

Visuals- The visuals offered by this game are nothing short of stunning. From the city to the park, and even the school. They’re sure to immerse you in the world of rage comics.

Bright Memory: Infinite

Bright Memory: Infinite

Let me start off by saying I was enjoying this at first. The combat is fun and chaining combos together doesn’t get old. I was about an hour deep and thinking I’d probably recommend this despite some flaws due to the reasonably low price. I started to think about how to word that and make it clear that this is a budget shooter and don’t expect much beyond that.

But then the paint chips away and the problems start adding up and I’m sitting here wondering why am I trying to make excuses for what is a flawed game? There’s at least two massive problems that I just can’t forgive:

Gachimuchi Life Simulator

Honestly, I expected more from the game, I didn’t like the music and there’s little gacha in common, the world didn’t like it either, it’s kind of open but at the same time empty

Yes, sometimes I want to spend an evening playing a game dedicated to my guilty pleasure. Perhaps someday I would like to have all the gachimuchi games in my library. As for this particular one, one of the advantages is minimalistic graphics, which allows you to run the game on any computer, the presence of game achievements, and my favorite sounds from the gachi. Nevertheless, the developer still has a lot of work to do.

My name is Van, I’m an artist, I’m a performance artist. I’m hired to people to fulfill their fantasies, their deep dark fantasies. I was gonna be a movie star y’know, modeling and acting. After a hundred and two additions and small parts I decided y’know I had enough, Then I got in to Escort world. The client requests contain a lot of fetishes, so I just decided to go y’know… full ♂Master♂ and change my entire house into a dungeon… ♂Dungeon♂Master♂ now with a full dungeon in my house and It’s going really well. Fisting is 300 bucks and usually the guy is pretty much hard on pop to get really relaxed y’know and I have this long latex glove that goes all the way up to my armpit and then I put on a surgical latex glove up to my wrist and just lube it up and it’s a long process y’know to get your whole arm up there but it’s an intense feeling for the other person I think for myself too, you go in places that even though it’s physical with your hand but for some reason it’s also more emotional it’s more psychological too and we both get you know to the same place it’s really strange at the same time and I find sessions like that really exhausting. I don’t know I feel kinda naked because I am looking at myself for the first time, well not myself but this aspect of my life for the first time and it’s been harsh… three to five years already? I never thought about it… Kinda sad I feel kinda sad right now, I don’t know why
