LET IT DIE

I found out about this game while looking at random people’s broadcasts. And i’m glad i got to know about it! It’s released for PS4 about 2 years back and I’m guessing they just port it to PC like a year later?..

Now that said, i’ve only decided to write a review ONLY after about 800+ hrs of gameplay.. yes; 800+ hrs i played this game and only then i’ve decided to say whether it is worth your time/ money on this. This is my in-depth review.

IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO READ THROUGH ALL THESE EXPLANATION JUST SKIP TO THE LAST PARAGRAPH.

Disclaimer: I actually love this game, but I also love many other games and lying is possibly the dumbest thing anyone can ever do, so I’m offering you my completely honest and objective opinion about the things at hand, which comes from an experienced player and someone who plans on continuing to play this game.

Also, if you like this game, check out the “Elminage” series, “Elminage Original” and “Elminage Gothic” are on steam and you’re going to love them.

Hello i will be bitching about more the kind of errors most devs commits when doing a game “focused on controller” or “controller recommended” excuse my gramar error’s im not NA at all but it’s still pretty easy to understand me.

And second i only gave it a positive review because there’s no middle one .

first and foremost heres the playlist of stuff i did found which i believe just me nitpicking for stuff that still isnt working 1 month away from release lel.

the most agregious one being the KEYBINDINGS settings.

People calling it clunky and such… IMO, it’s fine? It feels clunky at a glance, but there are sort of combo-cancels and methods to achieve faster attacks with knockback and such at the expense of damage and stamina.

Leaping attacks typically eat a lot of stamina, but have high knockback and allow good reach. Some deal decent damage, others throw enemies…

As for normal combos, I felt there was little incentive for heavy weapons to use light attacks at all. They deal far less damage and have near the same stamina costs.

This game is really fun and has an amazing potential. Usually I do not write any reviews but I would like to see more players enjoying this game.

It is an easy to learn - hard to master game with a combat system wich allows very tactical but fast action.

Players can equip two melee Weapons and there are diffrent primary and secondary attacks/attack combos for every weapon. Players can also equip a shield or various ranged weapons and one magic spell, both working with a cooldown. Weapons and spells can be equipped with several items to increase/modify thier potential.

Such a fun game! It’s like a dungeon rogue crawler brawler pvp battle royal. Basically there’s a battle royal map where you level yourself up and be the last player standing or more PVP smaller matches to earn rewards for better upgrades

Pros:

Feels original, map crawler mixed with PVP

Easy to use controls, just learn to dodge and attack and which weapons match your player style

Its free!

Tons of different game modes to try out

Leveling system feels competitive but doable

Cons:

Graphics feel more like a mobile game

A simple, straightforward arcade game that makes for a fun playthrough. The controls are responsive (with shooting slowing down your movement, so it requires at least a touch of strategy), and the graphics are crisp 16-bit stile, with some animatino. Enemies appear when you advance beyond a certain point, meaning the best plan is to frequentl stop and deal with enemies before advancing. This causes a slower pacing than your average run-n-gun title, but not so much that the game isn’t fun. It’s entirely possible to trigger a few too many enemies and find yourself overwhelmed or having to do some tricky manneuvering.

The game is very dynamic, great art and with the humour being a nice touch. You would need to react fast on certain areas. I wish the player had more lives, coz those finish pretty quickly. I liked the idea of switching the character against fire, jungle and water. The game is very easy to pick up and play, though you would be challenged if you want to progress further.

Review:

This game is really fun I enjoy rhythm games even though I’m trash at them, if you like hard rhythm games you will definitely like this. The power downs ESPECIALLY the inverted control one is actually satan and overkill. The dialogue is pretty dope especially when the narrator is constantly making fun of you for sucking at the game. It has a leaderboard as well, even though as per usual I think there’s already people who have used programs to cheat it or the best rhythm game players in the world have already hit all the levels and perfected/near perfected them. I wish there were more normal levels for casual players/songs to play through and the the music is alright nothing super revolutionary, but it’s not bad or annoying.

What can I say about this game? By and large, a very good action-platformer. Fast, not very heavy, with nice graphics. Yes, it feels like many things were “taken”, or simply copied from the Hollow Knight. But in general, it is interesting to play. It would be. If not for a small unpleasant circumstance. I have run the game twice. And twice it flew out of me with the deletion of my save! This is just wonderful! This is just fine! I don’t have the words. Developer, how can you make games LIKE THIS and upload them to the public?! Was it really impossible to conduct tests at least for critical bugs?! If they correct it over time, I will even go through to the end. But now this game is simply impossible to play! Dislike.

This game still need a lot more work to do, especially the way the sword slash effect is short but still hit enemy a bit far from it is kinda weird, theres a bug where after you defeat the 1st boss, when you fall down it wont load the next room and you just fall into void. Also the most annoying thing is that your game crashes and then your save file is gone.

If you can bear the current state of this game, i would recommend you to give it a try.

Otherwise, just wait for the full game to comes… maybe…

I downloaded this game just observing it’s cool aesthetics. I didn’t expect too much, just a sort of hack & slash sort of game to chill out too. However, it was much more than that. This game takes inspiration from the souls genre (it’s a soulsborne game), but still manages to add it’s own twist to it. Definitely reminds me a lot of Sekiro (second life mechanic is kinda there), except Sekiro doesn’t have a complete hack & slash aspect to it.

There are moments where you have to pick your pacing and choose who to attack along with placement, and moments where you can absolutely slash everything in your path. It’s quite rewarding. If you choose to mindlessly click and just try to beat up everything…it might work for a few seconds..but then you’ll likely get killed. Certain enemies require heavy attacks, some work much better with light attacks etc. If you’re in the middle of a cluster and get hit once, it’s over for you unless you get out of there & reposition. The final boss however was somewhat hack and slash-able, but required a ton of positioning and dodging (parrying was hard as hell but not impossible).

I really enjoyed this game. I finished the stage around an hour and then I tried to speed run it on the harder difficulty. I think the game is really fun and I’m going to be playing it over and over again to try and speed run it but I do have some problems with this game. First of all I think that the combat is fun but it feels like its stuck between wanting to be a souls like game and a character action game. I spent half my time playing this game as a dark souls game by dodging and attacking and the other half as if it was metal gear rising and honestly if feels better playing it like its devil may cry 3 or metal gear rising. You have basic combos with light and heavy attacks and a visually pleasing finisher which is really fun to chain when parry an enemy. Speaking of the parry I feel like its awkward. I tried getting used to the timings of the enemy attacks and using it mid combat and I could not get it to work consistently all the time. Maybe I’m bad at it but I also did spend hours maining royal guard in DMC 3, 4, and 5 to get a consistent royal release. I did read that you can only perfect parry enraged enemies and I tried to do that but some times it feels like the parry doesn’t go off. Another thing that I found very problematic was the blur during combat. This games throws so many enemies at you and I’m fine with that but there is just so much motion blur that I cant see enemy attacks. I turned off motion blur but it didn’t help and the enraged enemies do glow when they start an attack but the blur prevents you from seeing what kind of attack they are throwing so you have to pray you parry right or dodge. Dodging would seem like its a better option if parrying is too risky or if its not your play style but there are so many enemies that surround you that you cant do a safe quick dodge so you are forced to use the longer version of it which does give you a lot of space but it takes forever for you to recover so you end up taking damage either way. It feels like you are being punished unjustly. The crowd of enemies should be toned down if it this game is going to be a souls like game or refine the parry and dodge. Having more hit stun and more fleshed out combos and aerial combos would make fighting in a huge crowd of enemies more manageable or just really ironing out the existing mechanics. I would like this game to become something more and even become a fully fleshed out priced game. I doubt this game will be further updated or worked on by the developer but if it does I hope it gets better and chooses between being a souls like game or character action game because I feel like that is what is holding it back. I enjoy both types of games and I am a big fan or the soulsborne games and devil may cry except the reboot. I’m not saying the game cant be both but it needs a lot of work as a hard core game with the mechanics it has. There is other things I didnt like about the game but I feel like I covered the main ones that I wanted to talk about. Maybe this review is shit and if it is sorry you read the entire thing.

This is a very charming game. The music, art style, and colors give it a very melancholy feel, which fits the story perfectly. You play as a disabled bee who has been cast out of their bee hive, and is summarily eaten by a bird. The bird turns out to be a factory which enslaves bugs for an unknown purpose, but our little buggo friend finds themself free from the bird’s mind control, and attempts to leave the bird. Every level has a secret, and they’re all really fun to figure out. Looking through the other comments, I’ve seen people say that there is a difficulty spike down in the lower intestines, but personally I didn’t find it too bad. I thought the most difficult part was the part where everything becomes a maze; that took me the longest to figure out, and I eventually ended up just wandering aimlessly until I found the exit. All in all, I really enjoyed this game. It had its difficult moments, but they were satisfying to get though, and I’m really glad I downloaded it. It even teaches a really fantastic lesson: sometimes what others perceive as our greatest weaknesses, are in fact our greatest strengths.

~~TLDR: The game itself is pretty good but the state of the cash shop has led me to ultimately downvote this game.

This game is definitely better than a vast majority of other garbage clicker games on Steam. Good art, music, UI. The items can be a bit confusing. At least early on the game is pretty generous with handing out chests, so you’ll end up with quite a few weapons. To me at least, it’s very difficult to tell what is good and what is bad. I would like to see some additional way to tell how good a certain item is.~~

So, this review will be a bit long, but it will be a idle game lovers view, and marking all pro’s and con’s I see, with some thoughts on it.

What I would like to begin with is, I had a save issue, after I had drop some $ into the game, and I wrote a message to the email given when I was looking for support. The first response back was amazing. They gave many different ways to try to fix my save file from loading cloud, or finding computer save, etc. They said if I could, they would love to at least have me start from the beginning and they would refund “all” my shards. If I could find a save of me in the 2nd world, they would start me there while refunding all my shards.
