Barbarian Souls

Barbarian Souls

This game is an absolute masterpiece. I wish the dev would have charged more than $14.99! I would have happily paid up to $70 for this game. Barbarian Soul’s beutiful scenery will go down in history. The graphics in this game could go head to head with mainstream games like The Last of Us and Cyberpunk 2077 and I 100% believe it could win. I was absolutely DUMBFOUNDED when this game wasn’t nominated for GOTY 2019. The gameplay mechanics are on par with souls like games such as Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2 Remastered, and Crash Bandicoot. The ambient sounds like the rain and thunder are so beautiful that I could listen to them to fall asleep. I wish steam would allow me to buy multiple copies of this game so i could have a steam library FULL with Barbarian Souls. I love this game so much and would recommend it to anyone and I mean ANYONE that loves story driven and absolutely beautiful games!

Ok, so the only positive thing I can say about this game is that the visuals are pretty decent.

For the rest I did not play much, I found the combat and AI to be extremely unpolished. Also the game could do with more weapons.

At this time I cannot recommend this game, gonna need alot of work.

SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption

Maaaaate, such a great game! 💕💕💕.

Summarised:

  • Great combat mechanics;

  • Varied and creative bosses (no two bosses are even slightly similar);

  • Sooo immersive and pretty 😍;

  • Fitting soundtrack and delightful sound design;

  • Quite cookie-cutter story (though still well realised);

  • Almost inexistent character customisation.

As I said earlier, this game… Mate, this game is quite a banger Hahaha. The combat feels so responsive with wonderful animations and all the features u would expect from a souls-like (parry, dodge, timed lock, etc etc) and quite material as well, the sound effects - especially of hitting enemies - truly make you feel that your weapons are made of metal and are cutting through the enemies' flesh or their armour. Speaking of which, u can really tell how passionate and familiar with the genre the devs are by just looking at the bosses themselves, each one has a special mechanich or “quirk” so to speak and - supposing u face them in the same order as me, from left to right at the hub - their difficulty progresses quite nicely: First u’ll be facing some more standar “quirks” alla environnemental hazzards or multi-staged bosses but it soon progresses into more troubling ones such as odd attack timing or spawns - I’m intentionally vague this one so to not spoil the surprise for u 😝 -. The game is constantly pushing new ideas before u and every fight feels so exciting.

So, let me start by saying I really, really enjoyed this game; I thought it was worth saying this outright because I’m likely to end up saying more in the way of negatives, but that’s purely because the positives can be summed up so neatly.

The game does exactly what it says on the tin, and is exactly what I hoped it would be; a series of Dark Souls style boss fights in which you take on a new debuff before each fight.

It’s challenging in exactly the right way, it has good design for the bosses (which are all unique enough that no two encounters feel the same) and the combat is satisfying.

Its pretty fun. Controls are hard to get used to, but it’s a good game. I would love to continue playing, but I ended up stuck in an area of the game I was not meant to reach yet, and am unable to leave :I

It’s not good as I expected two years ago, when I got its demo… in many aspects, not good. But I still like its pixel graphics. And maybe its story.

Rouge-like warning !!

It’s sort of like Streets of Rage, I think. Never played that game, but I’m familiar with it’s type: a sort of 2.5D brawler where you shuffle along a mostly 2D plane, but can slowly shift axis. Your attacks mostly only hit along the same axis, though there’s some wiggle room, thankfully. Animations are good, mostly, but combat can start to feel pretty tedious at times, especially since you can’t run from encounters at all, so if you’re struggling to beat a mid-boss, as I was, you have to fight every enemy leading up to them over and over again. Get’s pretty grating. Furthermore, because a lot of evasion depends on positioning, and the basic movement is really slow, it can get quite hard to evade when there are a lot of enemies on screen. You have a spear twirl that can clear out people right next to you, but if it doesn’t connect, you’re basically certain to get counter-attacked in the brief window you’re locked in after the spin. And if you get knocked down with enemies nearby, you’d be better off just laying there because you’re likely to get utterly crushed the second you stand before given any chance to defend yourself. Just a bit of a grind. Not the worst game, but not really something I can get into.

Dark Fantasy Warriors

Dark Fantasy Warriors

This game is extreamly good for its price. Level design, graphics, sound, everything is so good. Enemies are not dumb, they attack together and it is really hard to beat them. And the best for me in this game is satisfaction after killing extremly hard bosses. I really recomend you to buy this game if you like games like dark souls.

I have given this game its fair share of my time, in short, this game is a very barebones experience. In the entire game there are only two enemy types, knights with swords and knights with a bow and arrow. All of the minibosses are also just the soldiers with a reskin and a larger model. The only truly unique enemy is the final boss, which casts all sorts of magic, it is a really cool fight actually.

I’ll list of some glaring issues I had:

  • Can’t interact with the chests scattered throught the map, which meant I didnt pick up a single new item on my entire playthrough

Viking Warrior

Viking Warrior

The games graphics seem good, but there is very little if any interaction with the surroundings. The tutorial is non existent and the inventory menu gives no stats or help at all, also you can not save in the game. Until the problems are fixed or addressed the game is only part way done. I hope the makers will update it soon with a

lot of fixes for these issues.

DON’T BUY !

Viking Warrior is a barefaced SCAM, bugged and bad copy from other 2 games:

good Dark Fantasy Warriors and bad Dark SASI.

Example, in the super short 1st level, the portal at the end of the bridge has no walls on either side, vanished, what a fortification. No sound walking or running, etc.

Buy Dark Fantasy Warriors games instead, nice game.

But don’t buy Dark SASI either, only 2 levels, the 1rst one is the same level as the 1st one in Dark Fantasy Warrios (although with different enemies) that has 5 levels though short ones.
