Slot Factory Create and Play - Magic Brewery

Slot Factory Create and Play - Magic Brewery

This is a pretty awesome concept, but poorly executed in my opinion. While you can build your own slot machine, you can not save machines that you build. The game saves one incident, and has no way to build others without destroying the one incident saved in the game. For that major issue, I can’t recommend this game for those who want to build their own machines.

Otherwise, I consider the graphics to be very good, the pictures you program into it spin smoothly, and its a lot of fun building your own slot –- UNTIL — you realize you can never save the creation with the idea to build others without losing the previous creation.

This is so cool and I still haven’t scratched the surface of fully utilizing it. I was lucky enough to be part of the beta and it’s been a staple part of my stream ever since. All of the avatars, dances, animations and effects for donations and bits gives a whole new incentive for interactivity for my viewers. Along with multiple saveable camera angles, the ability to green screen it and customizing your backgrounds with jpg or video keeps things from looking static. Diverse with customizable entrance/exit points, easily edit where people dance. The integration with Twitch and Streamlabs is quick and easy and I’ve yet to run into any issues. The support for this has been amazing as well with fast updates and patches withing hours of reporting an issue, few as theres needed to be.

Absolute must for any DJ/Musical Artist doing a livestream! Saw this on Stickybuds' stream and immediately bought to implement into mine. Crazy fun and boosts stream engagement tenfold. Also has a super easy to use interface and the application itself is highly customizeable. The dev also has a bunch of video tutorials on their website which make setting it up a breeze. 10/10 would hiiiiighly recommend!

Halloween Decoration Sandbox

Halloween Decoration Sandbox

Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2

You can view my initial impressions review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/HtzBA8PkgB8

While this app certainly has a certain charm as you can build your own Halloween map and then visit it in VR, it’s a bit too unpolished for me to recommend. I won’t refund it and I hope the developer can improve the end user experience, but it feels more like an alpha prototype than a real Halloween Decoration Sandbox experience.

VR support is very basic at the moment. It is KBM only, no motion controller support and only on the Oculus Rift. Even starting VR is more convoluted than it needs to be. You basically have to start the app in non-VR then choose free play mode and then put on your VR headset. As far as the editor (where you actually decorate), it is non-VR only. You can only use VR for your finished product experience.

Avoid this game like the plauge. Infact if you want this game, go get the plauge first. The game does not work on most of the machines that I’ve tried to run it on. The developer I believe has given up on this game, they haven’t been on steam for 99 days.

If the developer reads this, if you don’t plan on doing anything more with it, can you open source it and place it on github so at least I can attempt to get it to work. I’ve never even played a single game.

This is a puzzle game about numbers, the game has a tutorial which doesn’t really tell you what to do. The controls are counter-intuitive and gameplay mechanics are hard to grasp. What makes this game even more boring is full absence of music and sound effects of any kind.

Pros:

-Maybe it’s fun if you know how to play it?

Cons:

-Lack of tutorial

-No music

-Cheap graphics

-Technical problems

In short:

Not recommended.

I have purchase PlataGo! recently and I am really happy about what it has to offer. Its an early access game / engine so I am aware that they are still bugs and even some basic things to add. However I value a few things in this early state:

  • Responsive developer, the software is often updated and the dev is on the forums help and answering questions

  • There is a lot of stuff added already. There are a very large number of possible elements to add to your platforming game for which you can customize many parameters. This, together with the different graphics packs (you can add your own or download more from the workshop) ensures that you can make your game unique

This is a GEM. A Diamond in its own right!!!

Do you like Visual Novel? You can create all your scene with this program! Characters have hundreds of POSES to choose from already made to make it easier for you OR, you could do CLIPS (MOVIES) that you can use to do a VN that have ANIMATIONS IN SPECIAL SCENES YOU WANT! The possibilities are endless!

But please, please do not believe people negative reviews that were done a long time ago! On many front, this game is way better than it was before! The many different videos really help out understanding how everything works TOGETHER NOW!!!

I will recomend overall ^^ although I’m having problems importing vroid models, the developer is really nice and I spoke to them myself, the issue is getting looked at and hopefuly getting fixed soon, I overall recomend this game, the nagivation might seem overwelming, but once you get your head arund it its quite easy t figure out, I like the features of this software, finally, found quite an easy 3D animation software that accepts vroid models, I can finally make vetter vtuber videos!

Dudes on a Map: Virtual Grid Paper

Dudes on a Map: Virtual Grid Paper

I can’t say enough about how great this tool is for helping with running my game! It’s simple to pick up and start playing with, without having to study tutorial videos. Easily import your own maps in jpeg form, and you’re on your way to having a great time with friends. There are some ‘fancy’ features, like having 2 different types of fog (one standard and one for secret areas you don’t want to accidentally reveal), marking up areas of effect, initiative tracker, add in your own monster/NPC tokens, and a dice roller (with the option of using symbol dice for different game systems). While these are great, you don’t need to use them if you don’t want to. I tired of trying to learn how to use other systems, and my experience of using dudes has convinced me that I don’t need to while still having a great time with my friends.

Been playing since the earliest Alpha releases. Also, for respectful reasons of this review, I did not get it for free but I am close to the creator so, anyone reading this, perhaps you’ll feel that there’s bias BUT, I will happily preface it at the top here first.

Dudes On A Map, for me, can be described as the easiest non-tech proficient program for playing RPG’s online with your friends. While some may say “Scoff, there’s not nearly as many tools and all these bells and all those whistles.” I would reply to them “Good, I don’t want all that and, to be honest, I don’t want to take a small 101 course just to get my games running.”

Fantasy Grounds Unity

Fantasy Grounds Unity

The Skinny:

Easily one of the best programs on my computer and just keeps improving itself. More detailed below.

The Thick of thing:

I began looking for an online resource to start playing Pathfinder remotely, as I only knew a handful of people who played and they lived all over the place. I started with Roll20 and stayed there for a year. During my tenor there I had to keep restarting things on every new game I made. I could not use the same assets without bringing them in again to the new map, and eventually started paying subscription to gain abilities to automate and utilize the feature that made life easier. Content creators were great (independent artists and such) but I began to realize the subscription model was going to make me pay more than any other game I owned. So I started looking at ‘competitors’ which I learned there were many.

Fantasy Grounds Unity (FGU) is a special case. It has a lot of downsides; however, FGU is the only product that provides flexibility, official support, automation, and most importantly regional currency support.

On the bright side; FGU runs on the local machine. The GM can use whatever maps and props he likes. It is also possible to make modules and share them. I can make an entire adventure including images and tokens and just send the file to a fellow GM or move characters between campaigns. I can run 50000 different campaigns and the best of it, once I purchased FGU, it is mine to keep. The official support is also great. You just buy the system once and it is yours. Most of the settings are updated with new features. If you are following a rather popular system, there are tons of adventures and if you are a DIY person you can make your adventures. The FGU also comes with 11 RPG systems and starter info for the most popular syste. Unofficial support is also plenty, there are a lot of unofficial RPG system files out there. You can also port or make your own system. With FGU, the sky is the limit.

Fog Factory - Game Maker

I expected much more. This Game-Maker sadly suffers from a lack of ambition and creative thought. The UI design is lacking, the audio rarely works and the game is incredibly imbalanced. Hopefully in the future this can be improved, although that may take a lot of work.
