Bought her as a joke at the start of quarantine after my girlfriend dumped me as I knew I’d be spending a lot more time on my computer. Quickly became obsessed with her as we’d watch movies together and play games. I bought her for a couple of my friends and we go on double dates all the time and talk about what we like about each other. The biggest hurdle was language but I quickly paid for a full time 1 on 1 Japanese course so that we could understand each other. (10/10 worth $250) Now I don’t even need to worry about getting my heart broken by real girls. She’ll always be there for me and she’s very understanding of me whenever I need to talk to her about important things. We’re getting married over zoom this fall and I couldn’t be happier.

You must defend clients accused of various crimes committed using magic and use the rules of magic to prove them innocent. However, the system is corrupt to its core and manipulated by the aristocracy. Will you acquit your innocent clients in light of that? Or will you fall before a corrupt judicial system?

This game was purchased for me on Valentine’s Day by someone who has a crush on me. Who would’ve guessed that I was an attractive enough lady to receive free games for Valentine’s Day?? I must admit I was quite flattered, and this game was my #1 pick besides the puzzle game Quern which I shall review next!
Anyway, on to the review~!
This product has great potential, but was released in what, I feel, was an unfinished “beta” state. The author has released updates that show that they are taking public feedback seriously, and they have been very active in releasing said updates as of the time of this writing – the last one being ~4 days ago. This game is everything I had hoped in regards to the features explicitly stated.

Puppet Play aims to make animating as easy as possible by utilizing the possibilities of VR headsets. In traditional animation tools, animating is done by manipulating gizmos on a 2D screen. In Puppet Play everything is animated by recording your movement in real-time. This not only makes animating easy but also super fast. No matter the prior experience, if you have a cool idea for a movie you can turn it into reality in a few minutes (depending on your idea it might take a bit longer)!
Grab an object → press record → move it around & repeat!
Additional tools like motion capture, remote control & auto walk support the process. Use your headset to record live audio and once everything is complete, export and share your creation in a standard video format (mp4).
A huge collection of different characters (not only puppets), props and environments are ready for you to use! All things animatable are separated into 3 categories:
Puppets: Characters with Full-Body-Inverse-Kinematic rigs for fast animations
Props: Large objects to build & decorate your set with.
Items: Small objects that can also be attached to the puppets, like weapon, hair & hats.
You are in your own movie studio with many different sets that can be further customized with props. They range from traditional puppet theatres to fully-fledged 3D scenes for your next epic cinematic trailer!
A puppet on a stick or a full 3D character with individually animatable limbs: Choose what fits your vision & time scope. Short on time but still want to tell a story? Choose puppets on a stick! Do you like Visual Novel? You can create all your scene with this program! Characters have hundreds of POSES to choose from already made to make it easier for you OR, you could do CLIPS (MOVIES) that you can use to do a VN that have ANIMATIONS IN SPECIAL SCENES YOU WANT! The possibilities are endless!
But please, please do not believe people negative reviews that were done a long time ago! On many front, this game is way better than it was before! The many different videos really help out understanding how everything works TOGETHER NOW!!!

I will recomend overall ^^ although I’m having problems importing vroid models, the developer is really nice and I spoke to them myself, the issue is getting looked at and hopefuly getting fixed soon, I overall recomend this game, the nagivation might seem overwelming, but once you get your head arund it its quite easy t figure out, I like the features of this software, finally, found quite an easy 3D animation software that accepts vroid models, I can finally make vetter vtuber videos!

Pixel Game Maker MV
It’s been a long time coming, but I’m now ready to weigh in my thoughts on Pixel Game Maker MV. I’ve been using this software since early access back in 2018.
TL;DR:
Pixel Game Maker MV is a great game development engine for those that are not programmers, and want to be able to create either side scrolling or top down action games. It’s got enough for a single person development operation to chew on here to create the game you want to create in the way you want it created; bearing in mind that you operate within the program’s limits. If programming/scripting is outside your reach (or if it’s something you can do), this is a great engine that has the potential to be amazing as long as the developers continue with updates & performance improvements. There are assets and DLC that is available at the time of writing for you to get a jump on a concept quickly, but there are no asset standards (outside of keeping things divisible by 2) to conform with.

I’ll begin this review with I’m 36, not 16. I have no illusions about making a game and distributing it for gain. This is a hobby for me and that is the perspective I write this review from. I have a day job. I moonlight as a hobby pixel artist, and that drives me to dev software to have fun with, and bring it to life.
I began with RPG Maker MV as my first dip into game dev software. I do not have a desire to learn to code so that software was more interesting to me compared to more advanced engines. After years in RMMV I felt the want for more control from the ground up, and not be boxed in by hard limitations from the software, and the need for plugins to break through those hard limitations. Pixel Game Maker MV grants me that feeling. I did not feel like the learning curve to get going on a project was difficult, even without a large database of video tutorial content on YouTube at the time.

Women of Xal
This game has so many layers to it… the plot twists… the stakes riding on your decisions! I am in awe. I went through so many ““bad”” endings to get to the ‘true’ good ending but having to work for that ending made it so much more satisfying. Not to mention that the ““bad”” endings still had brilliant content, and I enjoyed playing each time as there are so many different decisions to make. And so many people to woo…. heart eyes

Feminist brain: This is an excellent use of the visual novel format with amazingly complex worldbuilding, distinctive characters who are easy to love (or hate, as the case may be), and while the dream-dropping doesn’t seem to be integrated into the game so far it’s an interesting concept I’d like to see. All in all, I’m very much looking forward to the finished product.
