As someone who has nearly all the achievements and an ironic amount of playtime at the moment of reviewing, I feel as though I am legally obligated to review this game.

I’ll spare you the history lesson here, as you probably know what Among Us is. I’ll just talk about the new update and my experience with it. The new update includes 4 new roles, 3 of them are for Crewmates and the other is for Impostors. Scientist, Engineer, Guardian Angel, and Shapeshifter. The Scientist can access the Vitals from anywhere, and any time. Engineers can vent, just like Impostors. Do note that the abilities of Scientist and Engineer get disabled if the Comms Sabotage occurs. The Guardian Angel is given to you upon being voted out or being killed by an Impostor. It allows you to break the game by shielding Crewmates and disabling an Impostor’s Kill Button for an entire round. The Shapeshifter is an Impostor-Exclusive, and allows you to become any Crewmate that is/was alive during a current round. Anybody from a previous round cannot be shifted into.

Игра с ужасным, конченным, токсичным RU(даже не CIS) комьюнити; редикми обновами; дорогим донатом но ска родная и все равно классная. Рекомендую, но только если играть через эмулятор. А если понравится то только тогда брать на ПК. ZAKARxROXIE.

Just… Fantastic and extremely underrated.

This game may not seem like much when you first test it out, but as you continue playing you realise the depth and sheer strategy and mind games this game possesses and reflects on to the 2 of you playing.

And since you only need one other player, remote play is actually very smooth and easy to carry out, since you don’t have to worry with the burden of trying to stream to multiple people at once. Also, the game isn’t demanding for the stream at least from my experience, so the people you play with should have a really smooth experience for the most part.

Goose Goose Duck

Goose Goose Duck

Like most who play Goose Goose Duck, I began by playing Among Us! It was not long into playing I met others and began playing with VoiceChat, then began playing the modded versions of Among Us - before I knew it - regular/no voice Among Us suddenly seemed stale and lifeless.

And then I heard about something called ‘Proxy Chat’, which means you can talk to other players while you are on the ship, but only if you are within eyesight of someone/within their proximity. There is a program you download separate from Among Us that allowed you to use this feature… but unfortunately it was very buggy, unstable, and would never work, resulting in many people just repeating “can you hear me?” or “I cannot hear anyone.”

Paper Pirates

Paper Pirates

A great social deduction game to play with friends or family. Lots of fun and easy to pick up no matter what age the players are. The artwork is a delight and it has a huge number of customisation options to make your pirate your own.

There are different game modes which allow you to vary the difficulty - scored games adding that extra challenge with secret objectives; is that player a ghost or are they just a bad human trying to max out their points? The daily voyage is a nice way to try out different modes and you can fill the boat with cute bots if you are playing solo. You can earn achievements to unlock cool hats for your pirates and the events change things up including the option of an audience mode for people who don’t want to play . The audience can vote to influence what events take place. It’s a nice touch that really does make this a very inclusive game. Iteration games has stepped things up a notch with the current Halloween event. Who wouldn’t want to play as a skeleton or pumpkin pirate! Highly recommended.

Iteration Games clearly understands the Social Deduction genre very well, and the result is Paper Pirates sidestepping a majority of the problems I find in other similar games.

Paper Pirates succeeds at both being a game that’s simple enough to convince your friends to pick up, yet has enough mechanical depth and just the right pinch of randomness to keep the suspense high all the way until the last treasure falls overboard, or everyone gets home.

Things like traditional mafia/werewolf’s follow the cop strategies, Town of Salem’s vulnerability to mass-claiming, and the rigidity of Secret Hitler’s mechanics in general lead to a highly-optimized “metagame” (a specific strategy that most players familiar with a game employ almost always due to how extremely effective it is) that doesn’t really appeal to everyone, and can be especially grating to newcomers. Not to mention how being voted out in all of the above means you’re forced into the role of spectator for the rest of the game, and the first person eliminated essentially doesn’t get to play at all. Paper Pirates solves this by instead demoting players voted out to the rank of stowaway; you cannot win as the stowaway, but all it takes to escape the dreaded barrel is for another player to go overboard and fill it in your stead. And believe me, plenty of pirates will be getting flung off this paper ship.

I’ve wiped my old review clean and am going to be much more concise in this one - having played both the Steam and Switch versions of the game now, I can firmly say that if you plan to play this game at all, the Switch version is the way to go - though I would skip out on both. It has less RNG bullshit in it and the controls simply make more sense and it has overall less bugs, however…

Upon a second playthrough of Jin Conception (once on Steam, once on Switch), I can confidently say that… while there is some good here, the cons just definitely outweigh the bad. Even knowing the answers of who is friend and foe, there is virtually no way in the game to actually deduce this naturally. I had the benefit of speaking with the developer during my playthrough and was able to speak with him afterwards to try and clear up some misconceptions and unfortunately the conversation only proved to clarify what I feared: the story is in fact incomplete, with much of it simply not in the game.
