Star Witch

Star Witch

‘Star Witch’ is an Oculus Rift Only action shooter that for some reason doesn’t work on the Oculus Rift. In fact, the frame rate is so low this game is pretty much unplayable and definitely so nauseating that you wouldn’t want to play it anyway. It seems to be a poorly made shooter with some of the worse voice acting you will ever hear. I know £3.99 isn’t a very big asking price, but asking anything for this at the moment is asking too much, avoid this for now until it gets fixed. Hunting Simulator 2

Hunting Simulator 2

Actually I’ve fallen in love with this game despite what most people say about it. At first I was sceptical about it and decided to try “trial version” (if you know what I mean ;)) but I liked it so much so I decided to buy it to support the developers. These guys did an incredible job of turning the weird and unplayable first HS into a decent game that just needs some polishing.

Everyone compares it to tCotW but to me tCotW loses in most points. Let’s see:

  1. You can only carry two big guns unlike in tCotW where you can run around armed to the teeth like the Doom Guy and you don’t even get exhausted. Here you get exhausted after sprinting with a full backpack and your guns.

Hunting Simulator 2 Full Review

As with most of my reviews, the TL;DR and final verdict will be at the bottom.

It is a bit strange for someone who loves animals, to go ahead and buy a game where you shoot animals, but I found a unique sense of peace wandering through the forest tracking animals, the water in the distance, the wind howling through the trees and a bird in the distance collectively brought the forest to life. I come from a family of hunters, but I myself never found joy in taking the life of an animal for sport, or tradition. But I enjoyed the wilderness, tracking an animal only to feel the joy of eventually having your patience pay off. So I decided I would get a hunting sim, but which one would fit the bill?

WILDZONE

WILDZONE

Wildzone is an open world first person shooter powered by brand new Walk In Place locomotion system: DEEP LOCOMOTION.

LOCOMOTION

While in most other shooter game you have to choose between snail simulator or crazy motion sickness,

with DeepLocomotion you can achieve the FPS experience you use to have with flat monitor.

Just much more immersive.

SETTING

This is abandoned area and there is a reason why. Meanwhile some people trying to get there to find some weird things.

It is rumored that it can be sold for good money. Another are not interested at money at all.

WEAPON

The game has a realistic set of modern weapon with high details level.

Real ballistics, real damage and and real feelings.

DEVELOPMENT

Development process is going from low end up, starting at open forest world with solid-rock 72fps on Oculus Quest.

With regular free builds you can check and control: development always going to upgrade and never downgrade.

The Signal From Tölva

The Signal From Tölva

I really really like this game.

It’s not without flaws. One or two of the flaws are even pretty large. But the game is still really good.

First, the good:

The game is beautiful. The world is really well-crafted and varied enough that you will almost always have something interesting to look at. In particular, the day/night cycle with its moving shadows and gorgeous night sky is really lovely. Exploring this world is a joy, and you never quite know what you’re going to come across next: Wreckage of giant robots? check. Huge ships? Check. Ancient ruins? Check. It’s all here.

A moody title screen, something about hacking, and you’re in control of a robot… now what?

Tölva took a while to get into. I was sold on this game through flashy screenshots of lasers and robots… but after a very short while I noticed that the weapons are dull and the enemies behave like… well, robots, but not in a positive sense. The ironically small scale of developer Big Robot meant this game could never be completed without skimping in areas where you’d otherwise see quality and variation. Animations are stale, encounters stay the same through the whole game, new weapons bring simple stat increases that keep pace with the strength of enemy shields. You get stuck on things, you get stuck in things, often it feels as if the ground and your feet are two magnets repelling eachother.
