Sniper: Ghost Warrior
I don’t usually hate games, but man, I tried REALLY HARD to like this game, but the game just manages to piss me off in a lot of ways.
I know this is an old game, but it’s so full of clunkiness and jank, even for the time of its release. Thankfully the sequels are much better and they learned their lessons from this game.
POSITIVE
[+] The sniping feels pretty good actually. The bullet cam somehow looks better than Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, and to a very limited extent, better than Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3.

One of the few sniper-biz-themed FP-shooters up to the moment. At least, conceptually. In reality, it’s just the same as the most of other mediocre shooters of the time, with somewhat good visuals, stupid and way-too-pathetic story, ill-calculated scripts and AI. And way too much “spray-and-pray” for the sniper game. Even the levels where you start in stealth, do some (few) precise shots and supposed to get away quickly… there always be some “twist”, leaving you with .50 cal machinegun or AK/M4 in your hands.

For a dollar you can shoot that jolly red suited bastard. save up points for a sniper and aim for that fat bastards testicles. Get to see them rupture in 3d and proceed to shoot his reindeer dead also

Finished the game within 4 hours, really addicting and fun game for when you’re bored exspecially near the christmas season, i shot santa in the balls like a boss!

My Thoughts:
What started out to be a charming game with great physics and weapon selection, soon crumbles into a looping disaster.
The game has issues and I could not even get past mission 3 without the game resetting. (See my Video)
I cannot recommend this game in it’s current state.

Sniper Elite V2
Okay, if your favorite slice of the FPS pie is sniping, you might want to give this a go. I got it for free during a 24 hr Steam giveaway, but after having played it through I’d probably pay at least $10 for it. That’s not much of a recommendation, but read on if you want to know why I take this particular stance.
It’s WW2, and you’re a sniper working for American interests at the end of the war. The storyline is okay, not superb, but passable. Well, mostly–the ending is a bit much, but no spoilers here. You are fighting against German and Russian troops while attempting to keep V2 rocket technology from falling into Communist hands. Stock World War II characters and situations are prevalent with no memorable bad guys. I played through the entire solo campaign in less than 24 hours, and while certain battles and moments have stayed with me, a lot of it is fading into one long blur of FPS glory.

The game is unlike anything else on the market, it is becoming and will become a cult classic just like I predicted when I reviewed this game a few days after the release (the Nazi Zombie expansion packs attest to that) There are only three major negatives about this game that I can think of:

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2
Well. Where to begin?
Ah yes.
Jesus Christ.
How this game isn’t branded as ‘Sniper Elite: 5000 for the Achievement’ is beyond me. You want zombies? This game gives you zombies: thousands of zombies. And I’m not talking Left 4 Dead’s hordes that cack-handedly slap you in the face in the hopes of making you feel bad, every single one of the shambling fascists is more than capable of dishing out a bucketload of damage before you’re able to shoot or kick them away. And yes, this version of Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army comes with the ability to KICK. Thank God! A marked improvement over those awkward ‘Oh God, it’s right in front of me and slapping me with a torch, blindly noscope, blindly noscope!’ moments from the previous instalments. I say instalment_s_, since if an enemy was right in front of you in SE:V2, it turned into a frantic mess of you flipping your SMG out and randomly spraying.

Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army 2 is a direct sequel to NZA which was a spinoff of Sniper Elite V2. So direct that it’s pretty much same gameplay but on different levels. Came out at the end of 2013, after Rebellion suddenly found out that NZA was a hit. Shoot more zombies from the third person view shooter!
Multiplayer community is kinda there. Most likely you will find no games when you launch coop, which would start your own lobby. And then, only a few minutes later it will fill in fully. So yea, wacky like that.

This is shit - you take out the first target - you can’t exit down the side of the mountain where the path is? You can’t climb or get through trees, jump or scramble over rocks. The enemy can climb the slope, but you can’t climb down?? You have to go through the enemy??? Like you would in real life?? I mean how many rounds does it take to kill one person?? Even a shot to the head and they are still firing at you!!!!!!!!!! Where’s the logic???
It’s like one of those really frustrating old style games where the enemy can shoot round corners or see you long before you see them, even when you are in cover - I mean really??? Sometimes you can get stuck on an element of the jungle like behind a tree or a rock and then its like you are caught on it????? You can go half way through a rock as nothing is solid but yet you can’t shoot the heavy gunner through the trees, as the space between the trees is solid???? Good try but so far off its untrue!!!

To gamers: The game has an amazing story line tied to a challenging, I mean, really challenging mission flow. Well worth the price for a piece of action influenced by the war against terrorisms in Sri Lanka. Tips: If you are a stealth lover, use the environment to your advantage. If you go guns blazing, aim for the head. For the heavy gunner, aim for legs. Play in “Easy”, because the game is full of surprises even in easy. Play through one time on easy and then try the higher difficulties.
To developers: I can not thank you enough for the amazing, breath taking, master piece you have developed. Finally, the battles of our heroes will live on, specially thanks to the amazing challenging mission structure. I played on easy and still I was beaten countless times by the AI. Excellent work for an early access game. I could give more insights on what bugs / things I found that could use your attention. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2
I would give this game something between a thumbs up and a thumbs down because I do like some aspects of the game. However, they force me to make a black & white choice and I choose “No Way”. The graphics are pretty good, the basic gameplay is OK but there are a lot of issues:
1. There are places on the maps you can get stuck and not be able to get out of AND you cannot kill yourself to continue playing the game! You have to leave the game altogether and rejoin (if you can).
2. There is no way to kick or ban a player on your own server DURING the game …you have to wait for the game to be over! This is the ONLY thing you can do to protect yourself and it isn’t even in-the-moment or real-time!

Personally so far I think this is the best game CI Games have produced. As a sniper-enthusiast I look for pros and cons with this game. I have already in advance completed this game on the Xbox 360 a long time ago, and to be honest I felt more connected into the game, and more sort a say “Alive” on the PC version. Here are some reasons why.

I’ve never been good at stealth games. I’ve also never been good at driving games - blame it on my Asian heritage.
When I played the original Sniper Elite V2, I loved the World War 2 setting, as well as the simulated realism of Sniper Physics – distance to target, bullet drop, wind, holding your breath to steady your shots. I detested the stealthing segments, throwing rocks and scurrying about. I would try the stealth approach 3-4 times, give up in frustration, and go very loud and turn the game into a shooting gallery as enemies attempt to find me, with my back against a wall and all approaches covered. Ultimately, the original Sniper Elite V2 wasn’t for me – that’s not a knock on my game, simply just a mismatch between my playstyle and game preferences.
