VR Skater
VR Skater is a gem, balancing nostalgia with cutting edge technology. Not everyone is or was a skater back in the day, not everyone has played irrecoverable hours in various Tony Hawk console games. A front side nose slide may be indistinguishable from a backside tail slide to you. None of that matters. If none of anything you just read chimes, you can and will still derive huge enjoyment from this game.
This VR experience matches accessibility with challenge. There’s an “easy to pick up hard to master” vibe. Such challenge may not be for everyone in the long-term, but it has me hooked here and now.

An incredible start to Early Access!
TL:DR Pros/Cons list at the bottom of the review.
This review will be subject to change as the product evolves and more content is added, but I wanted to share my initial thoughts on what’s available right now. (Playing with Quest 2 via the official Oculus Link cable)
VRSkater is what I would consider to be the first real VR Skateboarding game on the market. It captures the feeling of being on a board and is a thrilling experience! The trick list isn’t huge at the moment, but it satisfies most of the street skating tricks I enjoy. On top of that the tricks are actually challenging when in motion. Something I immediately loved about this game was the precision required by the player to execute things properly. You’ll definitely want to play through the tutorials to get a feeling for the mechanics.

Hover Skate VR
Backed 100% The developers are genious. This concept needed to be done in VR, and Hyper Light found an innovative way to make it, not only feel great, but work so smooth! Please realize how rediculously polished this release is compared the flood of gimics we have these days on Steam. This is one of those VR games that you can just waste hours in trying to land a flawless line. I’m not even a skater by any means, but a big fan of other skating games through the years. I think this one is honestly the next evolution of those franchises. EA needs to contact HyperLight and send them a cheque to create a big release with this code. I have a lot of faith that this is going somewhere in the near future. Imagine multiplayer! I can’t recommend this one enough. Not to mention - Those new music tracks are so killer ;) Wish HyperLight the best of luck!!!!

Feels like what you expect with a vr skate game. physics are good controls do take some getting used to but definately feel right when it comes to tricks. sound is good it has some track that are reminscent of old 2d skate games. levels are good but limited atm and fell on the rails, you can only go one way, only suggestion /change id like to see is opening up the levels more and letting people actually go left and right and move more freely in anopen area. when i loaded the school i was expecting to bbe able to skate around the school, not just a stair case in front of it, but early access means this can change and may open up the possibility for more aerial stunts with bowls and half pipes. custimization is great so far and it looks like there is more to come. looking forward to see where this game gos. also this game was free from a raffle but i think its worth the support. theres something with potential here. also to the dev look into vive tracker support with wireless i could see it being a big hit. aka trackers on your shoes

Rocket Skates VR
This is a unique arcade racing game, because it is a unique, arcade, racing game where you ride on jet skates, from the first person through an obstacle course. In addition, it is also a sports game, since all movements in the game world come from physical body movements: that is, you need to squat and wave your arms. This is one of the first games in which it is not only pleasant to play, but also good for health, which helps to burn calories and keep muscles in good shape. There are a lot of chips, the gameplay is very diverse!

A 20% discount allowed me to show interest in a new game of a modest studio EpiXR Games UG, which makes chic projects without extra pathos. “Quality games at a modest price” - that’s about the slogan they have ;)
As for the game itself - I liked almost everything.
Most of all I liked the idea of the game. Our task is to fly a rocket passing checkpoints on its way. In the process of the game, as you gain skills and experience we will be available a variety of items (eg baseball bat) which adds not only interest to the game and more and additional features.

hoVRboard
This is the kind of game that just gets better the more you play and become one with the control. I’m using WMR headset and at first I couldn’t see my controllers so I thought I couldn’t play it. You’ll need to bind WMR control in the options menu, then your controllers will appear in game. Took a little while to get it but as I played and experimented I found myself having a complete blast! (PUN intended) the first time I blast jumped!! The challenges will make you work hard to complete and that is helping me to get better. Great Fun!! Really excited to see the different boards and what they will be like. Big thank you to Tomy Horst. I would buy again.

Fun for the price but it’s not quite as polished as Jet Island - some of the physics are off and there’s a few poor UI choices as well as a bunch of spots on the map that would benefit from some minor tweaks. For example halfway down one of the long downhill halfpipes where the pipes join it acts like a collision - easy fix would be to lower the bottom one a tiny bit but for some reason they havent done it and I have found 3 or 4 in 3 hours playing no doubt theres more
If they fixed up the bugs, polished the map and the physics I’d happily pay $30 for an improved Hovrboard 2 as its a lot of fun at its core
