Mutilate-a-Doll 2

Mutilate-a-Doll 2

I’ve managed to squeeze 491 hours of fun out of it, if that says anything about the game at all. It looks simple, but there’s so much content it’s unreal. In 491 hours I’m still discovering new items and abilities. The game is consistently being updated by an amazingly kind developer. I’ve spoken to 0rava personally with questions about development and they were incredibly kind to me. If I had to point out one flaw, though, I’d mention that sometimes hotkeyed items just won’t appear. To fix the issue you have to reboot the entire game.

If you know who I am, it’s kind of obvious why I’d recommend this game.

Mutilate-a-Doll 2 has been one of the most influential games of my life, and seeing (and helping) it grow to this point is astonishing.

From Day 1 I was hooked on this game, and that’ll never stop. I’ve made countless contributions to this game, and will continue to do so in the future. I just love it that much.

If you want a game to relieve your stress, brutalize your enemies, and have fun… this is the game for you.

Explore these 1750+ items with your heart on your sleeve, and enjoy the carnage that is all at your hands.

Tracks - The Train Set Game

Tracks - The Train Set Game

A few things strike me about this lovely game:

-The cheerful piano music in the background. Together with the wooden railway-building and train-driving, the experience feels relaxing and meditative.

-The game’s creator has been wonderfully friendly and open to the early adopters of this game. He’s engaged and helpful and open to ideas…which is awesome.

-The game has a wonderfully calming and cheering effect on my train-obsessed 8-year-old son. He has ADHD and is on the high-functioning end of the Autism spectrum (aka Aspergers, prior to DSM-V). We’ve been collecting wooden trains, tracks and destinations for 6+ years now; building tracks literally all over the house seems entirely normal to us :).

This game is honestly just really pleasing and relaxing, you have so many competitive games that can just start to annoy you but this one is just calming and could really not even get you mad at all. The game is a fairly simple concept but it was excuted perfectly to make a fantastic game that is really a new idea. If you have the money and this looks fairly up your alley, I would highly reccomend it. The game only shows signs of getting better through the updates and I am exited to see what more might be added. I would also like to complement the music and graphics, the music all ties together to kind of make one song and with it you can really have the relaxing feeling the game gives you. The graphics are really a step up from what you could expect, the wood that makes up the train is so detailed and with the unreal engine 4, the physics are also something that is a pleseant suprise to find how well everything is. This game is, in my opinion, flawless with its execution and I highly reccomend it.

Kill It With Fire: HEATWAVE

Kill It With Fire: HEATWAVE

This is my arachnophobia therapy… well, kinda. ;) Not a game for you if you love spiders or are a PETA member, everyone else should be able to get a good amount of enjoyment out of this.

One new level (including reworked versions of the two in Ignition), three new species (all of them nightmare fuel), and a couple more weapons - the pan rules, I hope we’ll be able to hit those jumping spiders out of the air with it. Maybe it’s already possible, I flinched every time to be honest.

Had this on my radar since the r/indiegaming post in (IIRC) Febuary, was already planning on buying this after playing Ignition, this was enough to ignore my “no pre-orders” rule.

I don’t know how to explain it, but this game was really awesome. You’re basically wandering around a house, finding and killing spiders. The spiders are also diverse, meaning there are actually multiple types. You can obtain several different type of ‘weapons’ to use, such as Clipboard, Revolver, Hair Spray & Lighter, Frying Pan, Shotgun. These aren’t the only items, and this doesn’t even include ‘Upgrades’ for them.

Throughout the game, you will have multiple objectives (written on the clipboard). I do have concerns of repetition and redundancy, however, each stage (before release) did have it’s own unique objectives. I’m definitely looking forward to this game’s release!

The ultimate budget timelapse friendly space rts

I have rewritten this to make it a bit more critical. I encounterd this game on android in 2016 and fell in love with it because of it’s simplicity and the various space monsters, ship and sandbox abilities of which the developer kept adding more, after searching for a community I found their discord and not a while later became an alfa tester and bought it on steam just for that so I am kinda used to bugs tbh. I haven’t seen real bugs in a long time btw

Too damn good.

Galimulator is a game where you look at it and go, ‘‘Oh, another indie game with.. (insert not pg family friendly clean word here) graphics,’’ but.. it isn’t.

This game doesn’t have the best graphics for two reasons, which are listed down below.

[olist]

  • Snodd, the maker of this game is the main developer, and he does nearly all of the work. The other developers, well nobody knows what they do. Probably in Denmark betraying the emperor of Sweden, Snodd.

My favorite purchase all year.

If you’re wondering what I’ve been able to do with FlowScape that led to my review, you can take a look at all of my projects here .

I knew the moment I laid eyes on this, I would most likely love it. It exceeded my expectations as a casual design & illustration tool that just about anyone can use. I have spent many hours putting together village & macro background scenes. The Sculpting tool allow you to create mountains, hills, lakes, rivers, as I see fit. The Painting tool allows you to create walkways. I can construct anything from realistic waterfalls to lost ruins with the Transformation tool to manipulate just about any object.

Wow, it’s difficult to say in words how impressive and relatively deep this instant gratification “game” is! Marketed as a game, but used by many as a 3D design tool. Oh, it’s not Maya, or Lightwave, or even Bryce or Blender, which is cool because we already have those. This is something different, and special, and FAST, and easy! And for all its limitations, what IS here is a lot deeper and impressive than you might imagine!

I’ve made a nice living from building scenes in 3D software for many decades, and I’ve spent countless hours working with wire-frames and pallets of textures and bump maps and lighting devices, and scratching my head over each new entries' exploration into the 3D modeling' procedures. It doesn’t replace those high-end spreads for many projects, but this WILL be replacing the high-rollers on a few projects and making my life so much easier!

Prior to obtaining this game on Steam I have played this game for several months off and on. This is probably among my top few favorite games. I would endorse this without reservation and encourage it for everyone.

Although this game couldn’t be said to have the best graphics of any space game, I beleive it reasonable to claim that this has some of the best and simplest gameplay of all realistic space games. It is easiest to learn and has a sprawling potential for the imaginative soul who loves to understand how spaceflight really works.

I love messing about in this game.

Whether you make a “simple” rocket with a realistic design or a fuel tank loaded monstrosity,

you will find plenty to do.

There are plenty of challenges & objectives in this game but the popular ones are obviously Sandbox or Maximum Speed.

There’s quite a few bugs here and there but they seem to be ironed out as soon as possible.

People keep comparing this game of being an easier version of KSP,

but I haven’t played it so I can’t judge it yet.But I’ll be sure to pick that up soon as it looks fun.

Homebrew - Patent Unknown

Homebrew - Patent Unknown

Edit: Updated at 4,500 hours of play time

Intro:

This game is basically a watered down 3D modeling program with a bit of gameplay. The world is mostly empty, save for a few interesting areas to drive around and some player made areas. However, the gameplay is not the reason why I play. I play for the building. I have yet to find a sandbox building game with a better builder. It is an extremely powerful tool, letting you build incredibly complex and detailed creations.

Builder:

The building in Homebrew is done with a few simple tools. You create plates, pipes and shapes, then modify and move them to create the shapes and designs you want. There are servos, hinges, and springs with a parenting tool that allow you to create complex moving parts and vehicle suspensions. There are several prebuilt parts like engines, seats, and wheels that you use to make your creations work. The logic system is also just as detailed. Every working part has a logic box in the tuner that can be hooked up with other logic boxes to behave in whatever way you want.

Update Dev 2015: The v14 patch is here! This is a big one. The devs basically remade the game in Unity 5. Some of the systems are entirely re-done and it is overall a big improvement. I’ll highlight a few great points below, but this isn’t an exhaustive list of all the great changes / addition.

  • much more flexible building tools (like being able to adjust pipes after welding them to your vehicle, etc).

  • you can save vehicles / sub-assemblies and spawn / weld them in other projects :)

  • flexible plating / skin system: It’s only the start right now but there are already some easy to use parts for making body panels that far surpass the rigid old dog plates from v13.

Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator

Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator

UEBS is not really a game. What it is is a platform that allows you to creae your own scearios by positioning units in starting arrangements. Then you watch them fight. I compare it more to watching a lava lamp or sitting around the campfire. For some reason watching the patterns flow is mesemerizing. But it is not really a “game”,

If that was all there was to the story I would say go ahead and buy it as the cost is quite reasonable. But there are too many problems to recommend it.

  1. The AI is too limited. For me it was fun to try to coax the AI into doing more. But that will get you only so [not very] far.

I dont review much, but I have some strong opinions for this game so I figured I will share them:

The Pros:

-Epic and large scale battles! You can have huge amounts of troops on the field at once, and lag is very reasonable for the most part.

-Lighting is really nice, looks quite good!

-UI for setting up battles is good enough, more on that later.

-Mods are supported, but more on that later as well.

-FPS version is fun for about 30 minutes, not why I bought the game, but entertaining enough to add to the pros.

Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution

Species: Artificial Life, Real Evolution

Species: ALRE is a game for those of us longing for the glory days of SimEarth and though those days are long gone we can atleast see some semblance of evolution happening here.

The Good

Species ALRE gives players a wide range of options to steer how evolution will occur throughout their playthrough. There are map-wide effects such as raising or lowering the sea level, increasing or decreasing land fertility, screwing around with the global temperature and more.

Other effects are to introduce artifical selection pressure for traits that the player finds (un)desirable. This is achieved through rovers, spawnable autonomous entities that are given a single mission, to either feed or kill those with the trait in question. This allows the player enough freedom to have his creatures evolve however he wants, such as giving them enormous necks or creating a biome consisting only of hyper-aggressive huge herbivores.

I want to be clear: this is not a “game” for everyone, but if the idea is intriguing enough to you and you have some spare cash I would say take the risk and invest in it. There is nothing like this anywhere else. This isn’t some sort of half-assed early access stuff that will poorly mimic other titles then end up abandoned. This is a legit playground for anyone with a fascination with biology, genetics and evolution. If you want to make it a “game” and actively set goals you can. However, a good question to ask yourself is whether you’d be interested in letting the simulation play out without any interference.

The Last Leviathan

The Last Leviathan

The Last Leviathan Is Truly an amazing Game with a simple but brilliant game mechanic.

Build A Floating, Armored Ship And Take on The Sea!

Testing the build of your ship as you sail, you have the option to fix or adjust (when not in Battle) the Ship, To anything from The weight to the Weapons to even the style.

The Art Style is very reminiscent to Legend Of Zelda - Wind Waker.

because the quality of the game is so stunning and visually appealing it would almost be taking as a game developed by nintendo in the craftsmanship alone.

Real player with 32.4 hrs in game

As a simple ship building and sailing sandbox this game let me entertain myself for a good 30 hours before it’s limitations and flaws started to suck the enjoyment out of it.

The ocean wave and wind physics are outstanding, and really provide a test for the ship designs you can come up with. You can add lots of water propellers, ballast, and even functioning wings if you want to try making a sort of hydroplane design for speed.

Outside of the sandbox, there is really not much else to do, there is no substantial “game” there other than the sandbox.
