Gallantry
Really great game, I am having lots of fun with it, would highly recommend!

The game is absolutely terrible. The controls are sluggish and you will get your tail feathers handed to you about 99% of the time. There is no time to even try to aim your lance. Shield or Head I can’t see to aim for them. You just put your lance over the line and pray you either break your lance or do some serious damage to your opponent. The balance mini-game is an absolute joke. It is totally unresponsive. I hit right as soon as the dot appears, and it shoots straight to the left and throws me. The Rock Paper Scissors mechanic of Barding, Shield, Lance, and Armor need to be explained better than “Oh, just play around with it.” All these elements make for a frustrating and unpleasant experience. I do not mind a challenge. I do mind a skill-based game leaving it up to lady luck to make the final judgement. This game has so much potential but in its current state I do not recommend it.

NOBUNAGA’S AMBITION: Taishi / 信長の野望・大志
While I think this game can be fun, there are many things that still need work. Hopefully there will be some good feedback with the PUK being released for Japan today, and some good newer mechanics like officer play and some more strategy. I just saw a 3GB update on my game and I didn’t see any changes today, but I assume there will be changes coming soon. But we aren’t talking about the PUK we are talking about the base game as it stands now.
As the game stands now, I believe it is good, but could have been a lot better. Combat for me in Risshiden was pretty fun, and SOI was a bit more complex but still easy and enjoyable. In Taishi combat is slow and there are increments you go at instead of keeping it moving like in the previous two games. It gets annoying when I have to move the battle at a pace like that, and the officers aren’t even fast enough to catch up to an enemy even if I slow them. I lost battles where i had double the numbers because my Daimyo or General got beat down (I get it but not everyone is Yoshimoto and gets Oda’d). The castle construction aspect is lacking a lot as well. Spend 8000G only to end up with a bad castle with no farmland to make troops? Cmon… But I will say, the development and harvesting features are a bit more interesting. These can be really good moving forward for the series (As Nobunaga, Post Towns are your friend). Though most people found that way to play the game boring. For me it is a refreshing system to see as I love the thinking aspect of the games. In Risshiden sure the town building as an officer paid off well, but it was literally always the same. At least with the new features, there is some creativity in how to build your clan. Pick your own resolve to your play style and choose your own starting point (I always take Wakasa Takeda and screw Nobu out of conquest). Enemies have a brain, which is a HUGE upgrade from Risshiden. Shockingly, officer growth doesnt suck anymore which is something that annoyed the hell out of me.

Ehhh, while it’s true that KOEI is now also in the business of releasing a bare bone game and then you need to pay twice for the PK to be a real game… but…
The last installment’s basic versions' map was MUCH better, the graphic level of this installment seem to have gone backwards 5 years for some reason.
There’s some real positives IMHO, the fighting system continues to improve. I like this version, it’s getting more realistic to how things actually worked while still having good gaming elements. The battle’s strategic thinking level is very well done. as is the element of choosing where and when to fight.

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIV
First Impressions: Gameplay is much like Rotk IX, which to me is a good thing. IX was a favorite of mine, but since I cannot buy a fully English version of that this is the next best thing.
Great empire building gameplay, you can micromanage a small unit to take control of the surrounding city. This makes a lot of sense, if I’m a farmer on the edge of said city why am I going to support the new ruler if I haven’t actually seen them in force. This was before the time off TV and internet, gotta spread the word your in charge.

Even though I am a fan of the RotTK series, I cannot recommend this game to others except for the die-hard fans or those that does not mind clicking on the same things repeatedly and watching the AI play for you. This game focuses heavily on tedious micromanagement until you lose your patience and use the macromanagement features for the AI to automate the work for you. The myriad of problems made all 12 scenarios bland and boring. I will give a concise analysis on the 3 main systems that I believe make/ruin the game: UI System, Battle & Domestics Gameplay, and Balance & AI Issues.

Wars of Succession
Problems:
-Turn processing takes FOREVER
-Bugged events still exist (I’m looking at you Savoy)
-GA can land on the French coast and take Paris immediately upon entry into the war, ending the war vs the AI (WSS)
That being said it is (IMO) the BEST of AGEODs games. The period is one I have (had) little knowledge of. The forces opposed to one another (once again I am speaking of the War of Spanish Succession) are varied and interesting. I love the game. If it processed faster I’d have a thousand hours in it. Beautiful. Interesting. This is a diamond in the rough.

After playing more than half a dozen ageod games this one captures the period as well if not better than the others covered there periods. As with all these games the dictum of an army marches on its stomach is the over riding governing principle ignore that and your armies simply melt away. The policy and decree actions in this game give its real feel of the wars it covers, and also though turns still take time it doesn’t crash anywhere near as much as the earlier games. So if your a wargamer this is one to get the next time its on special.

Children of the Nile: Alexandria
If it runs choppy, google the jade empire fix, and it will work a treat. This game is an absolute favorite of mine. I know it’s dated, but I don’t care. I love it, and I play it all the time. It’s seventeen years old, but the game play is superb, and the soundtrack is absolutely gorgeous. Stunning in fact. It’s educational, entertaining, immersive, and detailed enough without being overwhelming in its micromanagement. My single greatest complaint is that it really is prone to crashing, and it’s gut-wrenching when it happens.

Though this game is a bit old, it is still a gem of a city builder! SOme of the visuals are stunning, the colors and the way the light changes the pyramids from pink to blue, however don’t zoom on any faces, cause everyone in Tilted Mills Egypt got hit with the ugly frying pan. But watching the sun break over your Palace while the glistening glass ribbon that is the nile rises up every flood season is a beautiful sigh
Gameplaywise this was the city builder that broke the mold and allowed free plaecment of buildings, by which I mean that there are no market walkers, no building ranges, the only limit to the layout of your city is the distance between things so feel free to build for beauty rather than utility and its is rather difficult to badly screw up

Civil War II
At first I was a bit overwhelmed, and felt like there was more micro-managing than I could handle.
-
I first played the game tutorials, but they covered mostly just the basics, but there was still so much I couldn’t understand.
-
The manual is comprehensive, but doesn’t deal with tactics, nor how or when to utilize the many nuances built into the game.
-
I searched YouTube and found several helpful postings, but most dealt with specific topics, and I still couldn’t grasp how to connect all the moving parts.

Civil War II has the makings of bing one of the best strategy game available – especially on the Civil War, definitely an underserved topic. It’s extremely complex, but that translates into a realistic feeling: war is complex.
Unfortunately, AGEOD has dropped the ball in 2 major areas:
First, the bugs. Almost all players have commented on them, so it’s the game, not individual computers. In a campaign, the game crashes about every 3rd turn. Fortunately, reloading the game with a previous save allows the war to go on. Except I reached March 1863 and encountered a hard crash that’s unrecoverable, recurs after reboots & reloads.

Europa Universalis IV
I’m a divorced woman of color. Recently, my ex got our son Larry a video game called Europa Universalis for his 14th birthday. It seemed good for him, because it takes place in the distant past and he’s always been interested in history, so it seemed like a nice enough game, no graphic violence or anything, at least until I sat down and watched him play at it. I don’t know what sorts of racists made this game, but it’s basically a colonialism and genocide justification simulator. If you want to survive, you need to have access to money and soldiers, and the most (only) reliable way to ensure you have enough is to attack and conquer your weaker neighbors. If you don’t, you can be sure someone else will eventually come attack and conquer you.

So EU4 was a good game. Then they released the 450+ ‘bug fixes’. The entire game outside Europe has now been put back behind a new paywall unless you have the paradise DLC as it is now impossible to develop your provinces to spawn institutions as army tradition gives you impossibly high dev costs. I played one game and when I needed to dev an institution from a 1/1/1 grasslands province and starting cost is 120. That is only with 33 army tradition giving a 150% penalty. This was a custom nation and I had -20% dev cost. Good job paradox forcing everyone to buy your shittiest dlc in order to use any of the other DLC’s you have paid for. The game is now broken outside of Europe without the paradise dlc. You make me sick Paradox!

IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover
This is the best WWII combat flight sim out there at present..BAR NONE…It is the most complete WWII fighter pilot experience you will get….I have tried other WWII flight sims on the market and they are all very arcade like…This is the REAL DEAL…I have flown this sim over 1000 hours and I am still amazed at how real it feels, how good the landscape looks, the flight characteristics, the damage models, it is breathtaking!..and it is still being improved
When this sim originally came out it had flaws that put a lot of people off and gave bad reviews on sites like this. Unfortunately this has marred what is now quite literaly a brilliant sim. Its taken a while (2 years actually) but for those of us who gave this sim a second chance we have not been disappointed. For that reason I feel that I should make people aware of what they are missing if they don’t get this game, but don’t take my word for it..checkout the recent youtube videos..

TL:DR:
With Team Fusion patches, this title still beats newer sims in terms of multiplayer experience. It’s cheaper now too so a win win for all. Forget the BoS/BoM as your first title. Go with IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover as your first entry into the genre and you’ll likely never look back.
Team Fusion are set to release their 5th patch in the coming months which opens up a new theatre and expands the airframe set. IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover has a bright future and really is the #1 choice for anyone looking a full immersive experience.

illuminati Simulator VR
illuminati Simulator VR is a Free to play indie VR game where you explore the map and figure out what to do. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked bad, played bad, sounded bad. Not a good game! I think the game actually has horrible coding, was running in the background for four hours after i ran it and then exited it. Avast active defense didn’t like it either. The VR movement was terrible. Has crappy 3D models. Objects floating in air.
Do NOT download this game, not worth it.
