JUMANJI: The Curse Returns

JUMANJI: The Curse Returns

Not what I expected being honest, I was envisioning more interactivity such as those in mario party games, it’s not a bad game but it does feel lacking. After playing for around 11 hours roughly I can say I have adapted to the game-play of dragging the corresponding item to either another character or the enemy at hand, it can be somewhat challenging, especially trying to get the save every location achievement which I had to enlist the help of a friend as the Ai was not working out, this is as far as core game-play goes however.

Streamed this game for about an hour, here are my thoughts.

The Phoesion engine makes the game look amazing. The physics are well done and fairly fluid and the ping-pong effect you can go through when you get hit makes for interesting moments. The gameplay is minimalistic and easy to figure out. Has lots of options that open up pre-game so you can adjust it for your particular system. The ladder-style leaderboard gives a competitive feel. Plus it’s a game you can play for a few minutes or several hours if you choose.

The gameplay is fun when you get the hang of the controls, and you can definitely get really good at this. Multiplayer with friends is a lot of fun. There isn’t much to do though, and I don’t think the developer is planning to update the game.

Bus-Simulator 2012

I really hate seeing all the negative press about this game on here and seriously if I didn’t know better I wouldn’t buy this game based on the reviews… thought I would address that!

With a mixture of common sense and user manual articulation this is a very playable game; in fact the BEST of the whole Bus Sim world out there…

A lot of people have problems with performance and bugs BUT with a bit of trial and error and settings adjustments etc.. you can make the game semi stable on your machine even with low to average hardware. Anyone who hasn’t spent hours over their lifetime making very tidious and endless adjustments to a game’s setup just to get a minimal amount of great gameplay hasn’t lived and should buy an xbox…

Imagine shooting up heroin whilst riding a roller-coaster made of crystalline excitement which is going through gargantuan hoops of fire over a swamp infested with three-headed sharks which have lasers for eyes and chainsaws for fins. That is exactly what Bus Simulator 2012 is not like.

You are initially offered a choice between two settings, “Beginner” or “Expert”. Beginner mode is essentially expert mode with more prompts and sunny weather. Even on the beginner setting there is a steep learning curve, I ended up watching tutorials online and consulting the manual due to the inadequacy of the limited in-game prompts and lack of help features.

Not gonna give it a Negative. But i could. Fun for a bit. Really fun if you just love winning simplton games. No real depth. Not hard to dominate at all. Confusing to start once over the curve you will win easily everytime. Wont play again unless it is updated or multiplayer. Worth 8$, ONLY if you like the sound of my review.

Lots of fun, once you get to know AI gets a little easy.

Would be awesome if Multiplayer was added!!!

I also drank at least two too many while playing.

Please. God please, spare yourself.

You may be entranced by the game name. The trailer, making the game appear humorous. You could be an achievement hunter, like myself, and be attracted by the Achievement Scouts curator saying you can complete this in 10 minutes. Of which, you can get 10 of them in one minute (

! press q on the main menu a few times, play a game, you’ll have enough money to buy everything.) You could be lured to the game from the 90% sale - bringing the price down to 49 cents.

Space Station Loma: OPERATIONS

Space Station Loma: OPERATIONS

Quick Review: Good Introduction to VR game play and physics. Very easy to start. If you enjoy follow the leader type games this is a game for you. Should be a $5 game.

Review: Simple to learn but gets chaotic very fast. You basically are following commands given to you on the main screen. They are timed and you need to do them very quickly. I am old and slow…which means I suck at the game. Has a leader board for keeping track of high scores, which can make it interesting if you have friends competing with each other. I think it is a good game for people who are being introduced to VR / gaming. If you are looking for something more long term with complexity this is not the game for you.

Space Station Loma: OPERATIONS - Simon says “don’t blow up the darn space station!”

The concept behind this game is simple, you are the operations guy on a space station, you know the people you see in the background of the bridge on deep space 9? The guys sitting at terminals in the background of the death star. And the computer tells you what to do.

It starts off easy…really easy….you think “i can do this”, “I am THE operator” and soon learn that the computer is mean and has it in for you lol

Arc Vector

Arc Vector

Arc Vector is an action arcade game with a hint of flight simulator, inspired by various classic 1980-90s Archimedes games.

  • Pure arcade combat across 3 distinct campaign areas, the Lush Tropics, Scorched Deserts and Volcanic Rim of Melos

  • Intuitive flight controls - pitch and rotate your ship with the mouse

  • Dogfight against alien pilots, dodge anti-aircraft fire and destroy enemy tanks in their tracks

  • Capture enemy bases to recharge weapons and fuel

  • Destroy supply depots to secure bases against being recaptured

Pilot a stolen alien ship in a rebellion against the Archronite invasion. Fly across the archipelagos of your home world and capture enemy bases with the help of your navigation droid co-pilot, DFX-9T. Battle against enemy Arc Vectors, Fighters, Drones and Laser Tanks, liberate your planet, Melos.

Backstory

You are a lighthouse keeper on the planet of Melos, a small world rich in oil and gas, home to a small population of industrial workers, fishing fleets and sheep farmers, scattered across the Melosian Archipelagos. (“Melosian sheep are famed for their genetically engineered Kevlar-like wool” - Melosian Tourist Board).

Melos has been invaded by the Archronites, a warmongering species fighting their way through the local galactic sector. The Archronites have started to colonise Melos to exploit its natural resources, driving the native population from their homes. When one day you discover they have even invaded your tiny home island, you are forced to act.

Together with your trusty navigation droid, DFX-9T, and after an enemy pilot had apparently met an unfortunate fate on the rocks, you commandeer their vessel and take to the skies in the fight back against the alien colonists. One by one, you must capture their airbases and destroy the infrastructure they are putting in place.

Beware, however, Archronite Commander Veilos will be out to stop you! You will come up against his forces in Arc Vectors - a devastatingly powerful attack ship, and Arc Fighters - a stealth-like fighter aircraft, Drones, Plasma Tanks and Laser Tanks and numerous other defences. Fortunately, the ship you have stolen is also an Arc Vector!

DCL - The Game

DCL - The Game

A great and fun sim with amazing tracks, amazing speed, and awesome environments. It runs VERY smooth and fast even on the highest graphics settings. There’s lots to like about this game and its pretty great for a first go.

It does suffer from one bad flaw though. Momentum is waaaayyyy too over weighted. The quad drifts heavily in the direction of its momentum even under full throttle. It causes the quad to twitch and jerk randomly on throttle punches. Its all very out of balance. The quad accelerates and slows like a 200g racer. But then turns into a 10 ton elephant under dynamic maneuvers. This also creates an unprecedented amount of drama just trying to get the quad through a gate. The pros know how to ‘point and pray’ and can get used to it. But I fear that newbs might quickly become frustrated. I couldn’t imagine a beginner grinding through it. Its super annoying. DCL will say its because its a heavy quad. I’ve flown 900g quads for years and that’s total nonsense. They fly smooth as butter, not all twitchy and drifty. Its a shame they got this one thing so wrong. Though I also hate the quad trails, that can’t be turned off.

Pros:

  • Run silky smooth on my potato of a PC (i7 930, GTX 750 Ti, 16GB). This was a concern after having bought DRL first

  • Visually more appealing than other simulators

  • Fun, large, visually attractive maps

  • Flow mode is a nice way of doing the multiplayer races where you get to practice first and practice races are also ranked

  • Pushes you to your limits

Cons:

  • The drone sound is extremely disappointing. Especially when doing turns, you just don’t get that nice air-ripping sound that makes sharp turns fun (similarly with the handling). With FPV Freerider Recharged (I have the demo) I just get a more satisfying feeling when doing sharp turns
