Marble Run 2D

Marble Run 2D

EDIT:

This game has resulted in hours of enjoyment for me and my lil' one and I would say is easily worth the money. The developer listens and that cannot be overlooked in the slightest.

Escape From Violet Institute

I really, really want to like this game. The 2d portion shows a lot of potential, and the shift from perspective inside the game proper is well done and keeps you interested in whats going on.

The game suffers from overly confusing sections during the 3d portion, I in particular had to speak with the dev twice due to getting stuck behind a plant and the game needing to have its collision changed, and another when a scripted event did not properly trigger to kill my character.

Please dev, if you are reading this if you could post a text or video walkthrough or hint guide or some such it would make it much easier, and less likely for someone to get frustrated and quit because they couldnt figure out what to do.

Autumn

Autumn

═══════════════════════════════════

Overview:

To start off Autumn has an AMAZING concept, and a very interesting take on spirituality within a game. With that being said, this game has a lot that needs to be improved on.

The concept I really liked, which is what nudged me to purchase this game. As a big fan of nature, not really the spiritual side of things, it seemed to be a enjoyable time-waster. But I was wrong. The game is not optimised whatsoever and it feels as if you’re lagging half of the time with slow animation and movements. The tutorial does not teach you much at all, it’s just a couple of signs which refer to things within the game that I had yet to learn or see. I actually referred to the only Steam guide for this game which helped me actually understand this game completely. Kudos to that Steam user!

Everyone seems frustrated about the puzzles… For me, I have never been a fan of sliding puzzles either. To be honest, I really disliked them (good thing they are optional!). But this game made me want to give them another try so I started from an easy-ish looking one. And you know what? The satisfaction from solving it is enormous! :D

Overall, the game is really slow paced but relaxing. The music is very soothing and I love the visuals - everything looks like a watercolor painting. Actually, it is more of an experience than a game (but a very pleasant experience) and should be approached as such.

Run Of Mydan

Run Of Mydan

A Fly-Around Shooter With An Interesting Art Style.

This is being played on an Oculus Rift, with an i7-8700/16GB RAM/1070Ti, on Single Player/Campaign Mode.

The first time I played this, in early 2018, it was on on-rail shooter with a a well-put together polygonal art-style (to myself, Roman-style influence). It was an okay experience; another rail shooter in a sea of them at the time; played for 30 minutes and walked away. Because of its art direction, I thought I would come back to it one day.

My review is based on the single player campaign.

First of all many of the older reviews state that this is a on rails shooter. This isn’t true of what the game is now. It’s a free flying strategic shooter that is the closest thing we have to a super hero game on steam (think superman or iron man or neo vs agent smith but primarily a shooter). There is also a race like obsticle course level.

I got into vr a few months ago after getting the Valve index system which I love. I’ve been bingeing on steam sales and now own over 200 vr titles, I have also played the top Oculus exclusives. Run of Mydan is definitely in the top ten, if not top five of my favorite vr games. It’s not perfect and needs more content but this is one of the most fun vr experiences I’ve had. Highly recommended.
