Zenith Into Maronarium
A lo-fi glitchcore multi-genre game. There are platforming parts and shmup parts and there seems to be wolfeinstein like parts but I didn’t reach these.
It’s mostly an art game, an experiment if you want. Most of the sequences are unplayable. Some of the platforming levels start rather easy but you end up confronted to an extremely hard jump sooner or later. The shmup parts play way too fast to even think about playing it for real.
Think of this as an art experiment, and you’re part of it. Just don’t pay too much for it, buy it on a sale preferably. You’ll get an hour out of it, at the very max. I found it ironically more interesting than some games that were trying seriously

Great and ultra cute platformer with even greater difficulty level. Worth the money, because of big amount of content and cutesy.
Gaming journalists: “It’s kinda like Dark Souls of dino games.”

Game description key-points: as short and simple it’s a Hard-core 2D platformer

Just Old stylizes itself as a “Hardcore” 2d sidescroller game. but in reality is sloppily put together glitch filled mess. Mechanics wise the game is unforgiving like it advertises, but mechanics are broken such as the rope literally detaching itself from it’s positioning while you climb. The gameplay comes off as sluggish with enemy ui and the player character’s movement speed is unbalanced and often causes unintended mistakes during your run. Functions intended to make the game “hard” instead come off as pretentious and tedious such as the no save function or restarting the game from level one every time you die.The soundtrack also grows from mildly annoying to aggravating as your deaths from stupid mechanics start to pile up. If you have some money and want to piss yourself off buy Risk of Rain 2; you’d have a lot more fun.

Robby’s Adventure
Fun with my 7 year old!
– Real player with 4.5 hrs in game
A precision platformer that doesn’t have the responsive controls, precise hitboxes or time to practice for the precision it demands. Double jumps can either be short, medium, or incredibly high without any explanation for why you get one over the other. Sometimes just being too close to a bullet or enemy counts as a death instead of being actively hit by something. There are security camera segments that are barely visible, and I suspect unseeable for people with red/green colorblindness. Overall, the game end up just being enragingly frustrating instead of fun. The style is cute, but it doesn’t make up for the gameplay.

A Winding Path
A Winding Path is a charming and original experience, offering chilled out gameplay that provides just enough of a challenge. It’ll take 2-3 hours to complete but there is plenty of scope to spend longer in the game for those who want to explore in detail or become a master at the Artemis Archery Club! The beautiful combination of gameplay and styling give this title a unique and wholesome feel, it has the potential to appeal to a range of player preferences and I highly recommend it!

Admittedly I did not like the first hour of the game, I was afraid it would turn into another stick guy game with generic puzzles, but it got a lot better toward the second half, mainly because the quests just became a lot more creative, and in general, the experience gave me a strong sense of escapism, granted it happened much later in the story. Also, I am questioning the use of WASD and 1234 in a game like this, I really feel like mouse UI would be a more relaxing option, I even got a finger cramp because there is a mechanic you need to constantly spam, if you are curious about hidden interactions anyway. Hunting for hidden achievements and optional trinkets is probably the strongest part of the experience, I think the side tasks for the collection were very enjoyable - and you can unlock some cosmetics hats too. As for the story, I was invested more in the second half of the narrative, for whatever reason I didn’t fully grasp the intended theme of the world, it’s not a familiar setting to me, but I will say that I loved the ending, it gave me a satisfying closure.

Blade Warrior
Blade Warrior’s store page heralds this game as a MS-DOS “classic”, a label that it does not truly deserve. Instead of being a well-remembered title, the game was actually very obscure on the PC. It is a port of a better known Amiga title that did get quite some recognition and a score of positive reviews. So, how come the PC-version isn’t as well remembered? And how does the game hold up in this day and age? Lets find out!
I actually bought this game back in the day, so I’ve added some personal memories to this review. If you don’t want to read all that, I’ve added a TLDR-section at the end. I’ve also put up a guide based on my notes.
