Teenage Blob: Paperperson - The First Single

Teenage Blob: Paperperson - The First Single

This is the best version of “Paper boy” that i have ever played, please make this a full game, not just a mini game! The music is great but the other 5 games don’t match the quality of this one, and i feel like i’m not alone in saying so, the concept is great but i would have really loved if all the games were NES remakes like this one.

Well… it’s a “split release” featuring 6 songs & 6 minigames (with the demo version featuring just one song and one minigame, which is a Paperboy clone).

This immediately hit a nerve - you see I have an almost pathological obsession with playing various versions of Paperboy, ever since the Amstrad CPC home-micro version was (sadly) lacking any sort of in-game sound. (yeah, it’s an emotional scar from my teenage years, what can I say).

This particular mini game is pretty nice - but there’s just one problem: There are times when the perspective changes from the classic isometric view, to a side-view (resembling Kikstart, somewhat). However, this switch (which follows the song’s rhythm) can occur in completely inappropriate times (for example, at the moment you line up your newspaper shot) and when your view suddenly switches back, you can miss your shot or crash into an obstacle, etc.

The short story that stopped abruptly, when it ended, I was still expecting something, laughing and crying. The content of the dialogue is easy to understand, the mini-games are simple and interesting, the characters are also very cute, and the gangsters who can fight and trade in a fair and just way are really unsatisfactory. When I looked at the name of the game, it made me smile again.

A little nice simple game, nothing more to say. I think a continue with more lore would be aprreciated but not necessary.

I wanted to report a bug tho:

If you fast forward the dialogues the text clouds will disappear and you may remain stuck in a dialogue forever because of not seeing the option to close it.

Thats because i tried to speedrun it to see if it had more ending, but no. So don’t waste your time trying to find it-

Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head Games

Keep in mind this is a $5 game. Very short, but showcases the advantages of VR in a third person platforming environment very well. It is very intuitive and clear to see where Finn and Jake are in relation to the world and hopping to and fro is intuitive. Quick to hop into and just as quick to finish, this ‘game’ feels more like a water testing product; to see how much interest there is for similar games in the future. The controls are nice and tight, but there are a couple things needing tweaks, such as tapping the ‘glide’ button will keep you in the air longer than holding it as intended. And after sever months of radio silence Achievements are still inoperable.

A Fun, Immersive, but Basic Experience

This game has some stunning visuals inspired by the artwork animation from the show, along with concise gameplay mechanics for the player to almost immediately get used to. The game has added immersion with your favourite characters from Adventure Time interacting with you. This experience is similar to the PSVR exclusive ‘Astro Bot Rescue Mission’; when you’re essentially playing your average 3D platformer; but just using a VR headset to look around. The game is also fully voice-acted by the shows' cast.

ADventure Lib

ADventure Lib

Well, this was a silly game. It basically randomizes items and mixes them up, so instead of a knight, you might be a chicken or butter or what have you. Your spear might actually be other random items. The puzzles are as simple as they get and the whole game wont take but 10 minutes or so to finish for most people. You can play over and over if you like with randomized items, but other than that, there really isn’t a point to playing the game again. I think all told, I would probably give this one a 3 or 4 out of 10. Easy achievements if you care to get them all. I walked past an item that would have given me the two I am missing and I really cant be bothered to go back and grab them, lol. Meh.

ADventure Lib is a very entertaining, funny and short experience.

A Gameplay & Review video showcasing the features I’m about to talk about:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqY4WZ_SvMk

When you start the game, all objects and characters in the world are shuffled with the game’s database of objects.

That means the character you play as could be a potato, and you’re trying to save toilet from a fire-breathing plunger.

The gameplay is incredibly simplistic. You have a “Look” action that gives you a hint what the object is meant to be used for. E.g “This rope is very sharp” so you know to use it as a sword. You also have your primary action which is to use or talk to objects/characters.

86

86

I’ve only played a small amount of “86,” but have really enjoyed it thus far. It’s a challenging puzzler that only relies on symbols and iconography to teach the player the rules of any given challenge. The cartoon art style is effective at translating all information required for the player to solve the puzzles. The strict time limit adds a nice sense of urgency, and the addition of a “notepad” in the game hearkens back to the days of PC gaming where game booklets and manuals had pages of empty space for the player to write down learned knowledge. The $5.00 price tag is more than reasonable for this type of game (I’m reminded of “Frog Detective,” in that sense). I’m looking forward to playing more.

This is a very satisfying and one of the few monster games currently on the market. The animations are perfect and the gameplay is mostly original. It’s a bit disappointing how short this game is (story mode is about 1 hour) but you can spend hours in arcade mode. I can’t wait for a sequel!

Bundle Kitt

This is literally the best game I have ever played. It has an amazing soundtrack and stunning visuals with a deep and complex character with a profound character development arc. I was instantly taken in with Bundle Kitt, it was a perfect combination of cute and fun that left an aching desire to play more. I love this game and honestly cannot recommend it more, its a free, cheap game that will brighten your day and put a smile on your face. Thank you Bundle Kitt.

My Experience

OK, Bundle Kitt is fantastic. The speed at which the character moves and the abruptness of the mews are just perfect. There are many games that try to be funny, often through scripted jokes and cutscenes. The brilliant thing about Bundle Kitt is that it actually involves the player in the comedic timing. The scenes often don’t end until you meow, but once you do, they end immediately, like a jump cut. Bundle Kitt is one of the funniest games I’ve ever played. For the price of free, you should check it out.
