Voice of Pripyat
People have definitely not given this game enough credit. Yes the graphics are a bit lo-fi and development seems to have stopped… but it is a fun game in the vein of old school Half Life Deathmatch. Even some of the maps are clearly remakes of Counter-Stike maps [which I think is more charming than not].
In practice the game is perhaps a little ugly, but livable. In a rare display of progress, you can opt to have a male or female avatar. The execution of Stalker elements is enjoyable, with the maps being littered with anomalies and TDM rounds occasionally featuring a random wave of zombies and mutants [some of which STALKER fans will recognize lol], there are other gameplay modes and many maps, but in the noobie lobby people seem to play mostly Bunker. Also, those people are Russian. Very Russian.

Let’s present this “Stalker impersonator” [Long review].
PLOT:
As a Stalker, a modern scavenger in the irradiated “Zone” of Tchernobyl, you fight for power and fame against other Stalkers and horrible mutants.
LAYOUT:
You have 2 currency: bolts and gold, to buy weapons, ammunitions, armors, items such as food/ medkits and bonuses (you don’t need to use real curency to buy items in the game, contrary to the browser versions with microtransactions). Items are great and bring a fresh air to this kind of game, the only problem is that some fights became longuer and more complicate if you use all items availiable.

Planetbound
This game definitely has a steep learning curve, which stopped me from playing it for a while, but once you learn how the game actually works it becomes a lot of fun. It has some drawbacks, like how upgrading anything but weapons at the beginning leads to instant death, and the default settings being weird, but it also has some fun gameplay, oodles of replayability, and bunch of weapons and enemies. Furthermore, this game looks great and I have yet to encounter any bugs in it.
In short: Worth the two dollars you should get it.

It’s a fun little game that I enjoyed while being idle on my computer most of the times. It’s quite hard and things get really chaotic after a while. It’s really fun! Haha

Battlezone: Combat Commander
As the lead artist on this project and life long lover of Battlezone 2 (The first real 3d game i played) I wouldn’t have worked on it as hard as I have if i wasn’t going to recommend it, which of course I do.
I worked as faithfully as i could to restore and enhance the battlezone 2 i played and loved, despite initial criticism, much work has commenced to further enhance the battlezone: combat commander experience visually, I knew I had to step the bar up as one of the key elements of BZCC was it’s beautiful graphics and rich, unique worlds in which the war for biometal was raged back in 1999.

I served as a tester for this game, so I’m going to be as impartial as possible.
I enjoy the game overall, but there were some items removed that I wish weren’t.
There is also plenty room for improvement.
In case someone doesn’t care to read through the bullet points.
For under $20, I would recommend the game.
The following isn’t a comprehensive list, but is a list of items that I could think of at this moment.
Things I liked
- Shadows have been fixed when compared to 1.3 and older versions of Battlezone II. Shadows never looked correct.

Call to Arms
Don’t buy the creators of the game messed up the editor and it is laggy.

One Shell Straight to Hell
(Review was updated on Dec 2021) I’ve spent many hours alpha-testing this game and decided to buy it on release day. Here are my thoughts so far, a list of positive and negative elements:
The good stuff:
-
Uniquely witty main character.
-
Good variety of unlockable skills and lootable guns, be it primaries or secondaries.
-
The setting: a terribly haunted mansion property set in the 1910’s - 1920’s.
-
The Padre’s voice actor probably smoked 10 cigars and drank too much whiskey. Fantastic.

One Shell Straight to Hell
There’s a brand-new Roguelike indie title on the streets; One Shell Straight to Hell. One Shell Straight to Hell lets the player experience the best of two worlds with its well-put-together Roguelike dungeon-crawling gameplay with a touch of base defense elements mixed in.
At first glance, the game seems to be simple enough with its Procedural Generation World. But as you cross the first stage after finishing a base defense wave, the game becomes something much more.

## STELLATUM
Good game, I very much enjoyed it.
As I see some reviews, I feel I should write something that 'overcomes' them all - well, I cant do that. But… This is finished game, balanced and polished. Long enough - maybe 14 hours to end story mode. Some levels are harder than others, not overwhelming, so game difficulty (adjustable: easy, normal, hard)is fine.
It brought me memories of Xenon II Megablast - my favorite shmup of all time - you have to even collect little balls from dead enemies, except story mode can't be played through on one session (thankfully) and the music is not as good and...

I actually do recommend Stellatum, but it comes with an awfully long list of qualifiers to that and a lot of issues, so this is marked not recommended for those who are looking for the problems with the game as there may very well be dealbreakers in here for you. I could not in good conscience recommend it to just anyone who likes space shooters. If you don't mind the things I'm about to mention though, then I can fully recommend it.
So first off, other negative reviews have stated that the component parts you need to craft items are really random. This is true, you will often be missing key pieces. As you get into later levels, more pieces drop, but more are needed, so this doesn't help much. Fortunately, there is also a universal item drop that every enemy drops which lets you craft any component part you need. This isn't mentioned anywhere in the tutorial and it's not especially obvious on the crafting screen you can do this, but it means playing through each level once will typically give you enough parts to build anything you need, but you may need to craft specific parts at times.

## Band of Defenders
lol this game is FREAKING AWESOME the more I play it the more I love it,
seriously (not sarcasm) this is easily one of the best games on Steam,
takes fps 'skill', has all kinds of upgrades and weapons and turrets and barricades to get, all kinds of strategies to try out and test,
has solo and multiplayer etc etc
-Easily- one of the most under-rated games on steam, and maybe one of the biggest 'hidden gems' I ever played in my whole gaming life.
Anyone down-voting this either came in with massive preconceptions about the game or was expecting something else, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this game other than it's too short (lol),

### Initial Reaction:
**The Good:**
I like this game a lot - really fun co-op with friends. Small community which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. You can share weapons you craft with friends which is pretty cool. The game has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see where the developers take it. I like that you can instantly reorganize your defense between rounds (if you misplace a turret or wall, there is an "undo" option which can be used immediately or in any round after).

## Anstorm
If you like simple top-down twin-stick shooters give this one a try. Anstrom seems to be inspired by Ubermosh and TTV and basically offers a mix of both, though it's not so much hardcore arcade-style. There is a campaign (story mode) with bosses (ans some are pretty good, classic 2d Contra-like). The campaign alternates between arena actions with different objects (clear area, run, survive x seconds, find something, destroy something, and more) and fewer maze levels (TTV-ish with enemies). And then there is Survival mode which comes in two separate flavors, Maze and Arena, that is more arcade.

A very solid 2D-Arcade-Shooter. It has it's charm even though character movement can lookt a little bit janky. I helped to translate the game so if you don't understand something it is probably my fault. The dev is open for criticism so if you want to help improve the game just help him out.

## Hijacker Jack : ARCADE FMV
An interesting take on the FMV genre, instead of point n' click type FMV games. (it is still)
It is a pretty decent enough game, but could be better.
Edit : They've lowered the price, so in this state, I recommend it.
(This is not a VR game, whoever did tagged that is a dummy.)
My analysis (serious one) :
Controls are confusing, I prefer this control scheme on mobile, but not here.
Pretty impressive for such a low budget project. (atleast better than Stay Dead lol)
But a small nitpick when it comes to the fighting system, the combat system is fine if its actually video game graphics but no, this is a film. The thing is, to progress in the fight scene (I'm talking about the guy in Jasmine's house), you have to do a specific action, which makes the fight frustrating (especially if you have no hints enabled) because it's repeating the same thing if you fail to do that specific action.

I can absolutely recommend this game, a couple of hours of fun for 5 EUR. I played with the Android version earlier, but it's a much better experience on PC. (improved video quality and controls)
The gameplay is smooth and the action scenes are amazing :)

## Executive Assault
Before starting, Im giving a disclaimer. THIS GAME PROBABLY WONT BE UPDATED MUCH ANYMORE. There wont be more content coming. What you buy is what you get. There isnt DLC's. And Im not 100% you get my golden rule of 1 hour for 1 dollar of playtime for this game. Now I'm gonna do nothing the negative reviews ive seen say, but explain why there isnt more content. There is a 1 man dev team and hes coming out with the sequel set in SPACE GET HYPE. Look up exec assault two and he has frequent updates and photos and gifs from what hes working on. And he gets a Sh*t ton of respect from me from being a solo dev.

This has the potential to be an awesome game. What you can play of it is rather enjoyable. As far as alpha's go, it's great. But the developer seems to think it's full release. And is working on Executive Assault 2\. So, I don't forsee a significant amount of development happening on this, especially considering the patch release history prior to working on EA2.
That said, I will probably purchase EA2\. From what I read it's a single individual who makes the full game, which makes this kind of an incredible project, and if that game gets more developed than this, I'll very likely recommend it.
