My mother said to me- ‘Don’t ever smoke. Please don’t put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

Apparently the blast zone is actually quite large. BlastZone 2 is a short indie side scrolling shooter (ala R-type but I wouldn’t say this game is that similar to R-type) made by solo developer Mat Edzenga. It features a number of different ships with different load outs, 8 stages filled with enemy ships, interesting 3D graphics and a few extra modes to try your hand at once you have beaten the main game. It also has local 2 players, controller support and costs only a few bucks.

After the SGF summer contest I realized that I’m a dinosaur, over 900 demos. .. the window of time for me to make a sustainable living from indie game development has closed.

Get it, Hero!
Do you remember playing capture the flag in your childhood? Remember all the tension you had in midfield when someone was focused on you and you on him, seeing who was going to make the first move and get caught? and then someone would move, the entire enemy team would go after this brave hero who tried to make his tale, and that opened up a huge gap for you and your comrades to pass on the other side of the map. this guy got caught and you and your teammates, now that you had the flag in your hand, had the difficult task of tricking the other team into returning to your field, knowing that now the team would definitely focus on you holding the flag. I remember thinking how good it would be in those moments if I had the power of super speed, invisibility, or teleportation.

Even though the game still needs to be polished up before the Fall 2017 “final” release, I somehow keep coming back to it again and again in hopes of trying out new combos of weapon adjustments. If you like a shooting game that has lots of weapon options anc can stand a huge enemy horde that really stops you in the later levels, than this game is for you at Early Access.

I’m bought. This is a paid review. I have standards though; I don’t sell good reviews.
It’s going to be a positive one though. In specific, I was hanging around on a chinese fingerpuppets board, and some guy showed up saying “Hey, /cfb/, I made a game and I’m drunk and giving away free keys.” Free. That’s pretty persuasive. I grabbed one real quick, activated it, and didn’t look back. Free.
Forget the fact that I’ve never been an arcade junkie, never really play much in the way of shmups (SHMUP? Bullet heck? What are these even called.) and probably wouldn’t play it too much: LITERALLY FREE.

This game is amazing.
I bought it yesterday and played with a friend. It’s fun, it’s challenging and some fights made us scream like little girls. :D
It is easy to handle, but hard to master.
The devs are active, they respond to questions, bug reports and suggestions. If you report a bug it is most likely fixed in the very next update.
It is worth the money and a hidden gem. I hope it will get the attention it deserves.

Ich habe es gestern gekauft und mit einem Freund gespielt. Es macht Spass, ist herausfordernd und sorgte dafür, dass wir in einigen Situationen wie kleine Mädchen geschrien haben. :D

Итак перед нами аркада по типу “уничтожь всех” старого, ещё автоматного (кто помнит) образца с элементами прокачки. В целом сначала игра заставляет изучить свой корабль и его способности и здесь ключ ко всему - по вам стреляют синими и красными шариками: от них не уворачиватся надо - а переключив корабль в синий или красный режим по нажатию правой кнопки мыши ловить их - заполнив шкалу до предела вы получите перегрузку которая нанесёт урон всем ближайшим врагам и собьёт летящие в вас снаряды (не шарики), всё другое нужно сбивать. С боссами ситуация таже - последний конечно немного помучает вас из-за мини-бага с тормозом при сбивании его ракетного веера и корабль против него нужен тоже прокачанный - но зато его уровень ОЧЕНЬ богат на деньги и опыт, так что фармим и в конце концов он не жилец. Плюс рандом уровни после прохождения и прокачка пилотов без мании - 5 уровень= все способности.

Sky Mercenaries is a sh-mup that has an interesting play mechanism: polarity / color. Otherwise, it’s a fast-paced sh-mup like Raptor where enemies comes from left, right, but mostly up/front.
Your fighter can swap between ‘red mode’ and ‘blue mode’. In red mode, you absorb red bullets and gets damage by blue bullets, and vice versa. Obviously you have to switch based on your tactical situation: sky too crowded? Switch colors to absorb the shot. Remember though, enemy will adapt with you. You can be accompanied by up to 4 drones and depending on which powerup you nabbed you can be joined by wingmen and more. As you fly through debris of enemies you pick up dropped “coins” and whatnot which you can spend on upgrades.

POLAR

The target mode, one of the polar game modes, brings a different perspective to survival.
If you are a good player, you can survive in a minute without dying.
Polar is presented to you in 3 different game modes.
1-Free For All
FREE FOR ALL MODE;
In Free For All mode, you can pick up all the weapons from the ground and try them on other players.
This mod gives you a chance to try all the weapons. So you quickly get used to the game dynamics.
2-capture of flag
CAPTURE OF FLAG MODE;
5v5 two teams fight in flag capture mode. The team with the highest enemy flag in 15 minutes wins the game.
You have to fight tactically to ignore your flag on your enemy.
3-Target Mode
TARGET MODE;
In the target mode, the presenter chooses one out of 10 people and increases their health by 3 times, but since 10 people will fight you, you should practice good tactics.
If you can stand for a minute, the server will choose another player as the target. This cycle continues until the last player remains.
How do you earn coins?
-You earn +1 P-coin and +5 -N-coins for each player kill
-if you hit the player in the head, you earn +3 P-coins
-And if you complete missions you get P-coins and N-coins
-If you are the winner at the end of the game, when you stay in the game at the computer, your headshot and end-of-game points are calculated and your tokens are distributed.
The Chewllers
The Chewllers is a multiplayer, VR game, where 4 players protect the tower from monsters in Co-op mode. Evil creatures in this world are destroying everything they can chew. The main goal of the four players is to withstand the attacks of the “Chewllers”. You can fight against monsters in different ways, create your own crafted tools, or use existing explosive devices.
CHEWLLERS
You will see the different types of monsters in the game. Chewllers are distinguished from each other by their funny behaviors and abilities. Each requires an individual approach. The harder it is to deal with monsters, the greater the chance of them dropping resources, items, and chests.
CRAFTING WEAPONS
In the game, You will have primary and secondary weapons. The main weapon that the player constantly has is upgrading up to 5 levels. As for secondary weapons, there are 6 types of weapons that are functionally different from each other and have different roles. (Sniper, Shotgun, Crossbow, Grenade launcher, Machine gun, Potatoe Catapult). All secondary weapons are upgraded up to 3 levels.
THROWABLE ITEMS
There are 7 types of items available from which the player can make a bunch of weird and practical combinations of throwables. Creativity is the limit. Each of them has its own significance and uniqueness in various cases. Explosives, luring enemies, or chasing them are just a few of them.
Swimsanity!
For a game I have been following for a few years I am very happy with how this game turned out. A fun, simple, underwater shooter that actually has easy to control movement.
Seriously, that’s the big thing here. Anyone who has gamed for any amount of time can agree that underwater controls are trash in games. Yet, this game focuses on underwater combat and actually works and feels good to play. Beyond that, if you like twin stick shooters you’ll like this.
