Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape

Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape

Loving this game so far. Super fun top down game, kinda like a slower and more suspenseful version of Hotline Miami. The game is fun but also super hard (almost to the point of frustrating, but I keep coming back for more). Never screamed so much playing a game I think. The zombies sneak up on you and the horde is real!!! A good combo of strategy and fighting.

100% recommended!

Fun as hell, I played it on comic con like three years ago and bought it the other day. The game is still really buggy but I know it has potential.

Other players posted that mouse issue was resolved. I returned to try the game out again. I will switch my review to recommend while I try the rest of the game.

Original post:

I really wanted to play this but… Mouse only looks left and right.

Loaded Quake 2 to test. Worked fine…

This is a fairly short, but fun game. Perhaps the two critiques that might help people are: First, is that you have to tap twice on save game before it does anything, and then a 3rd to actually type a name in, before you can even start the game. This should only have been 1 tap. The second tip is that the game defaults to a Azerty keyboard. You will want to go to options and change it over to QWERTY if you want to use the standard WASD movement controls.

For a 0,79 cent game its really great. As u can see its all handdrawn and pretty similar to the old retrogame metalslug.

SodaCity

SodaCity

SodaCity is a small indie game that offers old-school gamers a familiar (yet distant) experience; one of the retro shoot-‘em-ups, in classic 2D side-scrolling perspective with countless hours of fun distpaching enemies left and right and dying over and over again .

This game is pretty straightforward, very what-you-see-if-what-you-get.

The gameplay, as I described, is old-school cool that us adult gamers (at the time of my review anyway) will feel at home with, but it’s also worth noting that once you’ve played a few hours, it’s easily discernible that it’s also deeper than it seems at first glance. Truly, each type of weapon offers very distinct possibilities, for example.

it is a really cool game I recommend 8/10

(100000/10 considering price)

A neat endless beat ‘em up with a little bit of mobile rhythm game DNA that wears its influences on its sleeve.

It’s a little buggy in places, but that’s easy to forgive considering this is the developer’s first game and the pricetag.

ARENIX

ARENIX

Start in a small box arena, little slow-moving skulls appear and you shoot them. Guns spawn randomly and you pick them up and they quickly deplete after 10 shots or so. Try to pick up new weapon or you’re helpless. Guns appear and disappear seconds later, and you move so slowly you can rarely get across the map to even pick them up before they disappear.

I’m a complete sucker for twin-stick shooters, it takes a lot for me to Thumb’s Down a twin stick… But since this game is incredibly slow, unfun, RNG heavy and one-dimensional I have to say no. Nothing fun about this, needs months and months more work to be even remotely qualify as a good time waster. Not expecting AAA for this price, but at the same time you don’t expect to be bored to tears within 2 minutes.

Kate: Collateral Damage

Kate: Collateral Damage

Kate feels smol. Akane was already a small game but Kate for some reason feels even smaller.

Nevertheless I think this is an easier entry into this genre.

It mixes the classical Arcade-Slashing with some Rogue-lite elements and tries to reproduce the story of the movie with some really creative liberties.

The abilities are a bit underdeveloped here when compared to Akane. In Akane you had not only two sword abilities but also special sword or gun abilities depending on your loadout.

Kate simplifies the whole thing and makes the game a lot easier.

This masterpiece surprised me. I bought it as a fan of the movie and, in the end, it surpassed my expectations:

Pros

(6 Points)

+Have in mind that Hotline Miami and Hades are related games, whereas Kate is a improved experience of HM’ style;

+Has original ‘Story-Line’, made in different levels, that makes u excited to complete it;

+Has a merchant that offers new abilities, and improve your lifespan with extra content. Makes u wanna play it again and again, each time more ready for battle;
