The game has lovely neat graphics and nice sound but… everything else is a bit bland and boring.

Powerups are very limited and not scale with stage.

Boss and mid-boss are die-and-try until you know the pattern until you relise you need to restart the game from scrath every time.

The main problem is that powerups are given randomly so is actually possible to have one or two stages without a single powerup.

beating a boss without any powerup is just plain tedious.

Even if you learn the patterns by heart the puny base laser is just a torture to bring down bosses.

Bug N Out

Bug N Out

I went in not expecting much and was amazed at how further disappointed I became…

…but there is the tinniest gem worth pointing out deep within these difficult to chew paragraphs, for whomever has decided to read this all the way through.

What is proclaimed as a quick game to easily pick up, with no saves, and no loading screens, shows off a decent premise, but delivers only a weak play experience. There is no story, no real Menu after you load into it (just an escape Menu, with ‘Sfx’, ‘Music’, and ‘Quit’ dirty-faced Options starring down your pathetic Bug N Out playing soul), the Sound FX are nice and that’s all that can be said about them, while the techno-jungle-euro 1990’s style music fits the graphics style and design of the game. Which is really okay, until 10 minutes have passed, and you realize it is just one short looping song for the whole soundtrack, (I cannot tell if it is 30 seconds or 3:00 long due to its designed repetitiveness) and you to turn it off to safeguard your mind from drum beating into head numbing emptiness. While the graphics are fine for 1990’s, the impressions of this game drop like Wiley-Coyote off a cliff when you realize it was made in 2016! (double-check that… WTH!). That’s when the realization sets in, those nicely drawn single seated pictures before the game automatically starts (Yup, no choices in life here, just wishes you didn’t waste so much of your life in such a short period of time), and between each ‘World’ (which is a loose term as each world is one map, which is really just one static screen with a few moving components, played 5 times, with arguably no variation what-so-ever to these 5 rounds, and again between these worlds except a different colour palette and 2 new bugs), those pictures are hiding the loading screens (someone lied to me through text!). The credits are probably the best part about this game -And I do sincerely mean this. Yes, its one quick screen, yes it is just two creators, but shows the pictures of the two designers and what they split evenly for the project. It is because of this that I feel I have a small connection to these creators; that personal touch is what is needed more throughout this game (like about 1000% more, in every dirty mud-stuck crevice). On the credits screen, you also find the Thank you’s to the backers of the game: 1 Mega Backer and 3 regular backers; I have the distinct impression that these creators decided to not put much into this game as they probably didn’t get many backers for it. I know how hard it is to design and build a game, but most importantly how much time it takes. This would make a lot of sense if this was their first game design project and they didn’t receive much incentive to push the quality development of the game, because that is what it feels like here. However, I could only find myself playing for around 30 minutes before I felt I had committed too much time already to this piece of something dark brown and sticky -it’s a very muddy game.

Galaxy Annihilation

Galaxy Annihilation

A surprisingly good space shooty arcade style game. There are a great deal of ships to unlock and choose from, each with different stats, primary weapons (though most tend to shoot straight forwards) and unique ship specific abilities, many of which are very fun to use and look at in action. You also get to choose a special weapon to use to complement your ships abilities or weaknesses or strengths. Again, there is a good amount to choose from.

Enemy variety is decent, bosses are OK, powerups are what you would expect. There is nothing revolutionary here.

I can’t add much more than what has already been said in the positive reviews. Only negative thing I noticed was that some of the English spelling and grammar was a little off and that the Gatling Gun didn’t seem to work properly but, it didn’t take anything away from the game for me.

Andromeda Wing

Andromeda Wing

Low rez, limited options, shallow. What’s there to love? I’ve played through and completed Xenon 2 and that’s what caused me to buy this game; it’s unashamedly a Xenon 2 clone albeit nearly thirty years too late. I’m OK with it. Xenon 2 isn’t remembered for so long because it was crap. Andromeda Wing has that one-more-go factor happening and some nicely rendered sprites. For five bucks, a very welcome trip down memory lane.Dev continues to update as well.

I’m running the game with reshade to add some scanline and raster effects and it looks great.

Metal Swarm Infinity

Metal Swarm Infinity

Very nice and very affordable retro space action shooter in the line of old school Galaga.

This game offers a choice to play with mouse & keyboard, mouse alone, or a controller. Just make sure you select which option you want to use in the game options before starting a game. While I’d like to see the options off sliders for the sound effects and music, an off or on switch for these is all that’s currently available. There are also no resolution settings, but there is a full screen or window option which helps.

Alien Hallway 2

Alien Hallway 2

For a indie game. This was well done. I am exactly waiting to see if their will be a alien hallway 3 in the future unless their already is one. But this game was fantastically made. The only I hate about this game is some of the units descriptions. For the defender when upgrading thier shields. Is it shield lenght? or Shield strength? or how many times you can use the shield? Also Idk about the last unit you get but I have to wait to unlcok him. The game is very easy at the beginning but gets very diffecult the more you play. It is a grind/upgrade to win game. But if you been to madmax games, addicting games, or even most addiciting games I think it was called when you were a kid in middle and played other games like this one like for starters enigmata stellar war, is just like this game, but a whole lot better, cause their is a bunch of stuff to do in it, a bunch of bosses, a bunch of new uints/new upgraded units to see, same graphics but a tad bit better, and both are a upgrade/grind to win type game. But both enigmata stellar war and alien hallway 2 are very good in it’s own way. Like I said before, “I am hoping to see a alien hallway 3” unless you already made it, than I would like to see a alien hallway 4. Keep up the good work and maybe next time when you make 3 or 4 add a more detailed description about the units upgrade? It was just only one I know of you missed up on. p.s I Recommend this game. It’s cheap, fun, and addiciting. I wouldn’t be surprised if this game made it to madmax games or most addicting games websites. Like age of wars. They need to make a new version of age of empires.

Updated 3rd times on Nov.10, after beating the game for another 5 hours further:

After 20+hrs of gameplay I still have to say this game require some aggressive balance work.

The visual is pretty good, new alien models look nice, but what most Sigma franchaise players expect is AS3 not this tower defence style thing.

Leaving that alone, about the game:

1. Troopers, their required stars to unlock/crystals to purchase, their combat capabilities, are unbalanced in general.

Some levels are proven impossible to go through linearly. You simply can’t choose easy difficulty and beat all of them till the end. You HAVE to go back beat earlier levels on higher difficulty till you get all the money and stars to unlock better troopers. This makes it a total slog fest.

REMOTE LIFE

REMOTE LIFE

This is the most Amazing, Original & Awesome Shoot Em Up I have ever played, I have been following this game for quite a long time..The wait is finally over with superb positive results,

far higher than my expectations.

This game feels like its from another dimension…Theirs lots of great side scrollers out there,

but this one REMOTE LIFE as got everything & much more, the graphics & the detail is incredible also everything you click on before you even start to play the game,

the Art work is beyond Awesomeness. :)

Real player with 43.5 hrs in game

First impression

The first thing you’ll notice is the game looks beautiful, it’s a 2d horizontal shmup but all the graphics and animations are 3d rendered. The art style looks like it could have been by inspired by HR Giger but it’s a lot creepier. What stands out as well is that it’s a twin stick shooter. It may look a bit unusual with all weapons coming from one point in front of the ship but it works well. It allows for the game to bombard you with enemies coming from all directions even while you’re manouvering through tight tunnels and obstacles.
