8-Bit Commando
We wanted the best, you know the rest.
A Contra look-alike, that does not stand to its predecessor. But is it THAT bad? Let’s find out! The game greets you with a nice soundrack and pretty good 8-bit graphics. Unfortunately the gameplay is ruined by bad controls especially in terms of jumping. And when you can’t land on a platform becouse of fucked up controls - you know that this game has an issue. A prefect run can be ruined by a single jump and then it’s back to the beggining or nearest check point (THANKS GOD FOR THAT). Also this game has a TIMER. And when such slow-paste game makes you rush the level becouse of the mistakes you made before - it doesnt’t help the situation at all. At least it has decent multiplayer.

Rather than improving upon Contra / Probotector-games due better tech nowadays, this game just feels cumbersome (I really don’t have more fitting word here).
Main reason why I don’t recommend buying this game due how blatantly unfair this game is.
Note, this doesn’t mean you wouldn’t be able to beat this game. But it is still still unfair.
- First of, and the majour flaw: The checkpoint-system is for the most part pointless / not worth it. In fact, it is just better to restart the the whole stage most of the times since they’re really short.

Cyber Seraph
Cyber Seraph a retro styled Shoot “Em Up.
The developer mentioned that he was going to release another game, and we began discussing things, which lead me to make some small recommendations. I was then asked me to check out the demo, of which I did. Got a beta key shortly before the actual release, only to have said developer want to watch my broadcast as I played the first few missions. Sheesh, the pressure was on, and my morning tea wasn’t even finished, it also wasn’t my best performance, eventually getting stuck on the Conqueror after a small snack break; I came back to it a few days later and wrapped it up, only to post this review.

Would highly recommend this game for anyone that loves Boss Rush Style Bullet Hell/Rail Gunner games! The fights are evenly matched, and upgrades give you some advantage over the bosses! I had a blast playing the game, and you will too! The artwork is excellent, EGA style dithered backdrops, VGA sprites for the bosses and Seraph ship. The soundtrack is great too! Helps to focus the player on the task at hand!

FORTRESS DEFENDER
Well this came out of nowhere. Paying homage to the shmups of ancient times Fortress Defender will completely chew you up and spit you out..and that’s on Easy.
Not for the faint of heart nor the easily frustrated you will find absolutely no modern day hand holding here so be forewarned! With that said I enjoy a good challenge. Daunting at first glance with broken english for ship descriptions and some not so clear game mechanics one may feel slightly overwhelmed with FD. It took a bit of time but once familiarized with the controls and the game systems things quickly started to click. This shmup feels like a bit of a mash up between Gradius and possibly Gates of Thunder but with it’s own unique subsystems and powerup/shield system. Enemy design and attack patterns are well suited, bosses are challenging to take down, and the action is constant never letting up.

Get it, Hero!
Do you remember playing capture the flag in your childhood? Remember all the tension you had in midfield when someone was focused on you and you on him, seeing who was going to make the first move and get caught? and then someone would move, the entire enemy team would go after this brave hero who tried to make his tale, and that opened up a huge gap for you and your comrades to pass on the other side of the map. this guy got caught and you and your teammates, now that you had the flag in your hand, had the difficult task of tricking the other team into returning to your field, knowing that now the team would definitely focus on you holding the flag. I remember thinking how good it would be in those moments if I had the power of super speed, invisibility, or teleportation.
Space Haters
Was fortunate enough to be able to play test this, developers obviously care a lot about this game and you can tell. the music and graphics look and sound great, definitely worth a play, try giving it a try with speakers too it’s great.

Super Chain Crusher Horizon
Super Chain Crusher Horizon (SCCH) is an unconventional, horizontal scrolling arcade-style mono-shot space ship shooter for one or two local players simultaneous. Its a game about making enemies explode and chaining those explosions into one another for big points and your survival. You’re flying against a never ending armada of space ships big and small, hurling themselves in your general direction. Its an accessible easy to play shooter.
What do I mean by mono-shot? You only fire one projectile at a time, but the longer you wait between shots the more your charge meter builds up. You have three tiers to this meter, each will cause a progressively larger explosion with the final tier wiping half the screen with a giant explosion. Each chained explosion is smaller than the last until you get down to the smallest explosion.

Very good mono-shot shooter game where crowd control is done by waiting to enemies to bunch up and firing at them with a charge shot so that explosions (hopefully) chain up as ridiculously long as possible. Most of the time you are charging, or trying to charge up to fire. Miss once and your might recover but miss twice and you are in trouble.
Enemies that get past you wind up clutter the end of the screen and they stay there from one stage to another.
So basically a tactical shooter with twists. Quite recomendable if you can get it on sales. 14.99 it is not worth but at sale price definitely.

Galactic Refugees
this is a really nice game with pretty widely varied difficulty settings and all original artwork and music. imo it’s simple, easy to pick up and go, and a lot of fun :3
a lot of the characters are cute and quirky, and there is plenty of solid shoot em up/bullet hell content.

Kaiju Kite Attack
I desperately want to love this game, and I do– but it’s a messy, complicated love.
Overall, I think everyone should check this game out if it interests them. The charm factor is off the hook, and I love this game for that alone. But this game isn’t perfect, there’s some definite flaws; ones that have given me frustration and rage throughout my playthrough. I’ll provide my pros and cons, starting with the cons. I’ll stick with 2 for each to keep things simple, but I still implore you to check the game out for yourself and develop your own opinion. I can tell this game has a lot of love put into it, so I don’t want this review to act as a definite summarization– this game is beautiful and deserving of your time.

A Blast From The Past
Kalzor is a classic space blaster, drawing inspiration from the arcade hits of the 70’s and 80’s. I’ve done my best to bring together modern tech and classic gaming, to make Kalzor a balanced game, in regards to marrying the old and the new.
When you play Kalzor for the first time it will quickly feel like you are playing an arcade game from the eighties, the main difference is this time you’re not a virgin.
The retro themed music perfectly ties together the simplistic addictive gameplay and retro inspired visuals for the ultimate experience of ‘golden age’ gaming. With a chiptune vibe, sounding like it was composed on a speak and spell (oh the memories).
Game Play
Kalzor is a straight up fun game, no reading, no cut scenes - just 100% pixelated spaceship blasting goodness. You’ll avoid enemy attacks as you shoot your way to the highest score you’ve ever achieved. All the while collecting power ups and coins.
The coins themselves are used to unlock additional ships to control (there are five in total), meaning you have a variety of play styles to try. Each ship’s stats vary between speed, accuracy and defence (number of shields you start with). So you’ll find one that suits your mood.
Additionally there are alternative types of shots to use, which will alter how you proceed in combat. They also offer slightly more ammo than the regular ammo pickups, so if you see one float by don’t forget to grab it.
High score Champion
As a bid to promote Kalzor, players may post their scores and game play footage to YouTube, so long as our license is adhered to.
