REVO
REVO brings back vibes I have not felt since the late 80s and early 90s.
This is a fantastic space shooter! If you liked games like Galaga back in your day, then this game is for you.
-Shoot up space ships of varying styles and difficulties
-Unlock new weapons by defeating bosses
-Earn tech points to gain more lives
-Gain ammo by killing enemies
-Conserve Ammo because you can run out of it (If this happens there is an ammo supply drop)
-Beat the game and unlock hard mode.
-Fantastic Soundtrack

When I was 11 my uncle had a Galaga machine in his basement. I spent a whole summer trying to beat my Dad’s high score. I’m a professional streamer now, but that is one of my most cherished gamer memories. Revo takes me back to that summer. It’s the first game since geometry wars to capture that feeling. My Dad would have loved this game and when I play it I feel like I’m still trying to beat his Galaga score. That really means a lot to me.

Faraday Broadcasting, one of the largest media conglomerates in the world, has created a new form of virtual entertainment that can beam directly into your brain through a special device known as a STEM (Synaptic Telepresence Environment Manipulator). Final Frontier
The design brief for this game was quite simple: ‘Create the most advanced strategy game yet seen on a home computer’.
The scenario was unimportant - game play was all that mattered, the computer opponent had to be the most intelligent.
The controls: Total simplicity.
The players learning curve: Steep.
Addiction factor: High.
Visual appeal: Vital.
Possible strategies: Endless
The result: FINAL FRONTIER.
Quick to learn but hard to master, FINAL FRONTIER is a fast, full icon operated 1 player vs computer strategy simulation not unlike a real time chess game where the player can design his own pieces and structure his own moves.

Afterglitch
You are an astronaut whose multidimensional journey to find an extraterrestrial civilization is more important than the destination!
An audiovisual experience in the form of a video game inspired by utopian science fiction illustrations of the second half of the 20th century and hyperspace in modern art.
“And on the eighth day, time and space collapsed…”
“I’m searching for the beginning in time.”
“I’m searching for a boundary in space.”
“I’m searching for the creator.”
Cosmoscope
Brilliant wee game!
The progression is done really well. New enemies and abilities are dealt to you at a nice pace and the ways to counter them are intuitive. The game brings in new situations and changes dynamics with each new chapter, which keeps it fresh and builds upon your existing knowledge. It has a really unique concept I haven’t seen in any game before with the Kaleidoscope but still has a really retro feel. Like arcade games of old!
Plus the soundtrack is amazing, not distracting but really sets the mood and keeps you in the zone!

Arcade Moonlander
Arcade Moonlander is both a fun and challenging game well worth taking a look at. The controls are precise and the collision system works well which is important for navigating the more challenging aspects of the maps. Although the game is relatively short (10 arcade levels plus the adventure mode level), there is a lot of replay value. For me the most fun and challenging aspect of the game is trying to do speed runs and compete with other players' best times on the global leaderboards. Attempting speed runs on each of the levels, and then a complete run of all levels, gives many many hours of gameplay.

70 / 100
Games like this remind me of why I fell in love with gaming. Call back to simpler times. Precise controls with pure skill based play. Enough content for the asking price with some replayability vying for the best times.
-
Perfect implementation of the thruster & directional controls. Spot on!
-
Varied & challenging maps/modes.
-
One of those annoying games that is both frustrating & addictive at the same time!
-
Sticking the landing (especially at speed or low fuel) feels great!

Firezone
With the break up of the Superpower blocks, colonial wars ravage the world.
The development of powerful beam weapons and defensive energy shields have revolutionized ground warfare giving a new lease of life to the concept of the Armored Fighting Vehicle.
Propulsion systems have advanced beyond recognition. The development of the GRAV engine means tanks can skim across a battlefield at the speed of todays helicopter gun-ships.
FIREZONE simulates this new style of combat. It can be played as a solo game against a tough computer opponent or as a two player game. The player can control either of the two main protagonists - the EUROPEAN LEAGUE or the PACIFIC COMBINE - in any of the set scenarios. Victory is yours when the opposing forces are either wiped from the map or forced into mass retreat. Also incorporated is a scenario editor program allowing the player to design his own battles.
FIREZONE is a phased game and incorporates the latest in Artificial Intelligence techniques.

Interphase
Awesome to see this game finally available on Steam! Since the store page doesn’t really convey the gameplay, let me have a go.
There are two of you, one character controlled by the player (Chad) and one controlled by the computer (Kaf-E). Your mission is to break into an office building, work your way up to the top floor and steal a valuable item. Now, she goes into the building itself, and will always take the most direct route from one elevator to the next.
In the meantime, you have “jacked in” (yes, it’s very cyberpunk) to the building’s security systems. The layout of the floors are shown as blueprints, upon which you can see Kaf-E’s current location, the location of any security guards, and the various obstacles that are in your way such as doors, security cameras, revolving turntables and such. She will periodically send messages to you informing you of her situation, such as a locked door or anything that needs your attention.

K37-D
Need a puzzling game to play, but you don’t have time for a large scale, AAA title? This game is for you. The puzzles in this title will get your brain working, requiring you to sift through clues in emails and files as well as deciphering codes left by the inhabitants of this abandoned station. You’ll have to carefully manage your time and resources between crafting items to keep your life support stable, and fending off alien intruders.
Pros:
-
Good, satisfying puzzles
-
Pixelated visuals and simple geometry are a nice change from the realism of today’s games

This is an interesting game. It started off a bit flat, seemed like straight out time/resource management. You split your time between telling drones to go auto-gather resources, rushing around to build stuff, and then occasionally going outside to shoot bugs before they get inside and cause problems.
But there’s a surprising amount of logs and emails and info you can look through, and the offscreen support character makes her own little comments on what you’re reading.
All while mutant alien bugs eat through the walls to come get you.
