DRONE The Game

DRONE The Game

One hell of a game. Although still a prototype, I think you’ll enjoy the public release. I was a backer for this project and I can say that the money I spent was more than worth it. If you paid mind to the game’s info, you likely saw the 12 backer tiers. I started out at Tier 2 (“Traveler”) when I first heard of the game. When they released the multiplayer demos I couldn’t wait, so I bumped up to Tier 3 (“Explorer”) a few months later. Last year I decided to upgrade to Tier 4 (“Operator”), and as of 2 July 2019 I ended up upgrading to Tier 5 (“Engineer”) because this game really has turned out so well. If you needed proof for how much these guys delivered, here you go.

This game showed significant promise in its early stages, and the main draw for me was being able to build and fly my own little fighting drones in the editor - with the hope of eventually being able to create land-based units with tank treads or mechanical legs.

However, development on this title unfortunately seems to have slowed to a complete halt: there hasn’t been an update, not even a bugfix, in over a year, and there’s been no word on how development is progressing in about 6 months.

They succeeded in their promise of delivering a functional drone editor, but even then a good portion of its features and place-able parts are unfinished, and at the moment users are restricted to basic cubes which they can cut into other shapes, as opposed to the totally freeform shapes seen in prebuilt designs. There’s also the slight issue of players being able to min-max their builds to obscene effectiveness by just putting a bunch of wings or something.

The game feels like it’s barely half way through development. Its lacking features and replayability. Lots of things need improvement. That being said there is so much potential for it to grow and drastically improve over time, so its a thumbs up from me! Will be checking in again.

SPOILER ALERT***

Where do I start? This game is phenomenal.

The GTX 2080 top of the line graphics card, almost isn’t enough to play this game on Epic settings and that’s a pure testament to how incredible this game is. I would recommend the GTX 3090 for best gaming experience.

If you ever thought MMA was gruesome imagine your fellow extra terrestrials beating the shit out of each other. The most action packed thrilling hand to hand / Foot to head combat SIMULATOR.

Does have some heavy p2w with cash shop but the majority of people look to be spending only a little or none at all. Do get a lot of free stuff (including cash shop currency) as you progress through quests and achievements which is nice. Pretty fun game overall.

Nothing but Pay to win title. worked all of the modes and sadly the same still applies. The A.I. seems to be designed to make you constantly upgrade to advance and of course the levels CAN all be bought through or wait days while being raped in the modes. Find another game .

Etherium

Etherium

Etherium Review

Developed by Tindalos Interactive (known for Stellar Impact) and published by Focus Home Interactive (Cities XL Series, Trine 2, Farming Simulator), Etherium is a daring new multiplayer RTS game looking to pump fresh energy into a slumbersome genre. Not since Starcraft 2 has there been such a relevant sci-fi entry for a 4X multiplayer game. Tindalos is a small, independent studio so much credit is deserving for even attempting such a monumental task.

In Etherium players will choose one of three different factions, each with their own unique abilities. These factions battle across multiple maps for control of a precious resource called etherium either against other players in multiplayer games or against AI players in single player skirmish mode and conquest mode. There are a multitude of units and upgrades available and units can level up through combat. Aside from the main factions, some maps also include a neutral faction which can advantageously be swayed into aiding your cause and be a nuisance for your opponents. The maps offer a variety of terrain features and can be used to your advantage as well. Additionally, Etherium contains a weather element based on terrain that can greatly impact battles and strategies.

Kind of disappointing that there is no real campaign for the game. Instead of making one that players could really sink their teeth into, we are given conquest mode which is similar to what Planetary Annihilation and Star Wars: Empire at War use for their single player “campaigns”. For those that haven’t played either or those games, you get an overview of a universe to play on (sounds good so far right?) but unfortunately rather than having unique maps with a story to go with them, you find yourself being plunged into skirmish after skirmish. I assume that skirmishes don’t have fleet actions (colonize/conquer, attack enemy fleet, and travel to a new planet being among them) but those really don’t change much in my opinion.

Offworld Trading Company

Offworld Trading Company

Absolutely great game. It’s had me hooked for about a week straight. It’s a spin on the basic old formula of buy low, sell high. Only difference is you now have to deal with a robotic competitor that just dropped a wonderful EMP bomb on your group of steel mills, putting them out of commission. Then the rates rose due to increased buying from the other competitors, after which he sold off all of his stock. Some sold very high, the rest of the selling tanked the market price, and now the steel I just started producing again is worthless. What a nice fellow! And that’s about the first 3 minutes of my average match. It seems fairly simple and straight forward at first, but there is quite a bit of strategy involved. Resource monopolies, price manipulation, technology patents, flat out blowing up an opponent’s building…. there’s a lot you can do. It takes a while to get the hang of it, but if you like RTS games, as well as putting your opponents in the poor house, then it’s definitely worth a buy.

I am very pleased to give this game the thumbs up - I own it since its launch on Steam. I had a feeling it will grow well and achieve a good level of greatness by the time it was finihsed. Coming back to it now, over 9 months later, I cannot help but enjoy what the developer (Sören Johnson was the lead designer of Civilization 4) has achieved. Regardless whether in single player or multiplayer, you are treated to a fast-paced, ever-be-on-your-toes gameplay. To me, this is the best fast-paced economic sim I have ever played.

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy™

STAR WARS™ Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy™

Probably one of the best Star Wars games out there, in between Republic Commando and Battlefront II of course. This was from a long forgotten era of games where the developers cared about what they were doing, and greed wasn’t as prominent as it is today.

Made by Raven Softworks, Jedi Academy is the 4th installment of the Jedi series of games, and the last in the series. At the time this game was considered more or less an expansion to Jedi Outcasts rather than its own game. Because of this the initial sales for the game on release weren’t amazing, and critics were pretty harsh on it, but like a lot of old movies and games it has managed to build up a cult following surrounding it years later.

Real player with 53.4 hrs in game

you know, i have to say. i own this game and Jedi Outcast on cd, and have put 1000’s of hours into both of them. they are amongst my favorite starwars games, ever made. get them, and play them, and don’t forget to use dismemberment cheats in outcast, and a dismemberment mod for academy, (also rebind force pull to mouse wheel down, and force push to mouse wheel up.) What enabling dismemberment in these games does, is remove the hitbox during saber swings, and instead, have the samer constantly do near insta kill damage to anything it hits. therfore, you keep the animations from swings, but they become more diverse, allowing you to use the animations in unique ways to hit enemies all around you. it also affects enemy jedi the same way, making saber duels much like the movies, first one to get hit, loses something. add in a plethera of fun cheats, and the game never gets old. Never before have you felt like such a legitimate jedi. with all the powers available to you, there is so much that you can do, you’ll never want to stop playing. Imagine being able to ligning a room full of baddies into a corner, or backflip shop a guys head clean off, or force push a rocket back into someones face. well you can. but you can do more than that. Try force choking a tough enemy, jumping 3 stories into the air, and force pushing them upwards so high, that the fall kills them shortly after you land. Try slowing down time with force speed, and running around with a rocket launcher, firing one shot at everyone in a room, then speeding up time again to watch them all die at once. Try dueling an enemy jedi with dismemberment on. try turning off enemy targeting in the console, along with noclipping, and setting up unique encounters with enemies in levels you’ve allready played. you can even set up boss fights as you play through the game over, and over again. try spawining in a bunch of enemy sith in the next area, then going back where you were, and spawing in a ton of friendly jedi. then you adventure into the craziest battles you’ve ever seen, and i cant stress this enough, with dismemberment, these fights are thrilling and nuts. try accidently cutting off your allies head, or watching a sith do the same. try force choke, into backflip insta kill. try everything.
