Nainai’s Recipe

Nainai’s Recipe

Nainai’s Recipe is a game that captures the cooking feeling in stylized visuals. And a family story about how we lived together in a special way during 2020.

  • Maximum control - No preset ingredient slice texture, no performance-oriented steps, we want you to enjoy cooking a meal from start to finish.

  • Food to a larger food tradition - We curated a stylized kitchen with strong flavor about a Chinese kitchen, including appliances, condiments, and food choices.

  • Bonding moment with Nainai - During this difficult period of time, you will have more chance than ever to talk to your Nainai and know her story!

Wandering Trails: A Hiking Game

Wandering Trails: A Hiking Game

Looks, feels and plays like a zero to low effort asset flip of a Unity Asset forest map.

..I want to thank the developer for offering me a free evaluation key, but as I’ve said many times before, free keys never influence my opinion or review of any game. I call it like I see it, and this is just low effort trash.

If you really want a walking simulator like this, check out any of the Drizzle games (just search ‘drizzle’) as they offer ten times better graphics and environments for less money.

Although I have only logged for a few minutes, I can already tell this game was made from the heart. The game does transport you on a hiking trail, a journey, to a place that you may have been to before, if you are an outdoors type of person. The environment does put my imagination to one of the many parks and forest that I’ve been to in my life. There is a sense of being “disconnected” from the humdrum of the world, and puts you in a place of nature and beauty. This is a pure walking/hiking simulator so if one expects to do anything else like hunting or digging up stuff, then this is not the game you want to dwell in. The game description makes it very clear that this is a peaceful experience- something most of us hopefully yearn for. There are no achievements to grind for, there are no jumpscares so don’t expect anything else.

JENTRIX

JENTRIX

Meet Jentrix! This game was inspired by the famous board game and combines the very best of Jenga, match-3 and Tetris. And it’s all packed in Virtual Reality!

We are pretty sure you know the classic Jenga, but what if instead of wooden blocks there would be colorful fruit cubes, the towers would grow every second, and crocodiles would try to bite your hands?

Jentrix mixes different sets of mechanics from everyone’s favorite games. Jenga provides its well-known look of the tower and tests your physical and mental skills. Match-3 brings its popular 3-in-a-row portion, while Tetris vibes will put you to the edge as the tower grows.

Lost in Red Valley

Lost in Red Valley

Review written 10/16/2021

In Early Access

Lost in Red Valley shows the bones needed to become an enjoyable game:

The environment is well created. I’ve discovered many beautiful views and locations I wish to build my base of operations. Locations are varied and distinct using both the environment and objects placed in locations.

The weather effects are simple, but well done. Light rain, rain with and without fog, heavy rain, heavy thunderstorms, and snow. My favorite is heavy thunderstorms at night. The lighting effects from the lightning is based on the origin point. This causes lighting effects to come around objects in the environment (hills, valleys, mountains, statues). This includes the “god rays” lighting effects.

Summer in Mara

Summer in Mara

Being up front the game has a lot of issues. It won’t teach you basic mechanics and it is very easy to get frustrated with quests due to a lack of information. There are some side quests that you are given that you cannot complete because you don’t have access to certain items yet. However the game never mentions that you will later get access to those certain things if you progress the main quest which has led to me looking everywhere for certain things only to learn that I have to progress the main story to gain access to them. While this isn’t outright a bad thing, I personally think it is poor game design to tell your players to get a certain item, while they don’t have access to that item yet.

Little Koa is growing up on a small island in the middle of Mara. She is alone now, tending to her island but dreaming about exploring the whole world and becoming a pirate one day! When she finds a strange little creature on the beach her days of loneliness are over. With her new friend, Napopo, she set sails to the vast Mara seas. Koa will then meet different kinds of people with their own dreams, problems or old pains and although she is only a kid, she will do everything in her power to help them.

The Garden Path

The Garden Path

Far from your old life, you find yourself a new wilderness - a life once lived in these dense woods, waiting to be rediscovered.

The Garden Path explores the quiet moments of a life well lived, where your garden will grow to reflect both the passing of time and your own design. Time here runs in concert with the real world, and the passing of seasons heralds new encounters and a new story to weave.

Above all, The Garden Path is a life sim that celebrates the tranquil and the pensive, a tucked-away place to shape and grow as you like.

Designed to be played as and when you wish, The Garden Path features a wealth of stories, activities and distractions to be experienced at your own pace. Don’t have time to watch your flowers grow? Come back tomorrow: time in the garden passes alongside the real world, and you’ll find plants you nurtured one day may bloom the next.

You won’t be alone in your new home. Charming inhabitants will come and go, from Bunk, the tea-brewing macaque to Larto, a Greenlandic Musk Ox with a penchant for song-fish. You may even find some visitors willing to make their home alongside your own!

The garden is calm and still. A tender world of familiar sights and sounds, melody, and friendly faces. A space to call your own, to curate, and to reflect.

With a unique hand-drawn aesthetic, The Garden Path’s stunning visual design embraces you from the start, inviting you in and welcoming you to stay. Combined with unique soundtracks for both day and night, it won’t be long before you’re lost in the flow.

  • Rich illustrated visuals and original soundtracks that draw you in.

  • A charming cast of characters, all with their own stories to tell.

Wattam

Wattam

What an absolute treat of a game showing how every little thing matters and how important the people around you are and you should cherish every moment you can. Wattam starts off with a little mayor being lonely and soon off to making new friends and more on the way. The little sandbox you start out in continues to expand as you progress through the 4 seasons. The music once again never fails to amuse me, and the atmosphere gives the katamari damacy series vibes which gives a lot of childhood memories. Each character you unlock feels very unique and adorable to interact with. The story has a lot of meaning towards life and the world itself. The game roughly takes 3-4 hours long to beat but there is after game content if you haven’t unlocked all the visitors/achievements just to mess around in the sandbox. Can’t believe this adorable but absurd game managed to tear me up in the end truly a fantastic game. Will recommend this game if you are looking for a happy/peaceful time.

All my days used to feel the same, just playing a waiting game, dining at a table set for one, stuck in an endless rerun. Then one day you walked into my life, it was you I needed. I can’t wait to be comin' home to you, can’t wait to be comin' home to you, can’t wait to be comin' home to it all… Walking alone makes the world a lonely shade of blue, walking alone was a bore, until the moment I met you. All that it took was a single glance to change my point of view, with our hands tightly together, let us set off on an adventure. Along the way, things take a turn… not in a way… like we planned it. Now both of us are trav’ling all alone again, but our journey led us on two different paths, before the end. Please, don’t you leave me, without you it won’t be easy… oh no. I cannot go on alone, I’m not brave enough on my own, so… we won’t be comin', no we won’t be comin'. We won’t be comin', no we won’t be comin'. We won’t be comin', no we won’t be comin'…

An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs

An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs

I am a ‘dog person’ so this game looked intriguing. I had it on my wish list and picked it up, on sale. Having spent many hours in airports run by dogs, I have very mixed feelings. It is a silly, somewhat mindless game with the biggest challenge being to find specific characters, objects and gates in each of 6 airports. Woven into this is a love story about a long distance relationship between you and Krista (the last two humans left on the planet). Your busy lives intersect at airports and it is sweet to watch the relationship unfold through many brief encounters. Although each airport has very different geography, there is a lot of repetition (the same shops, the same vendors, and much of the same dialog).

Hilariously it was my girlfriend who got me this game, we are long distance, and neither of us actually knew much about the game. I just kinda wishlisted it long ago cause haha cute dogs and alien airports, and she got it cause just frick it we get gifts for each other so sue us (please dont, legal action scares me). Well, 13 hours later and I am all misty eyed over what was supposed to be a silly little game. Even now typin this out I am gettin all teary eyed. Not gonna get too into detail cause I ain’t wanna spoil stuff but heck, this game is gonna last in my brain head for a long while. 10/10, Recommend it forever
