I’m just gonna say it, I honestly expected a lot worse going into this.

But I’m glad to say that this game certainly didn’t disappoint. Taking inspiration from the classic era of flash games, this game follows a well-established formula with a few extra strings attached. Simple but challenging, short and sweet, it is definitely worth picking up.

While the graphics in some aspects may be somewhat crude, it adds so much to the overall charm the game brings. The gameplay is solid and enjoyable, as physics are used very well to give the car a sense of weight and velocity. Although it is only 10 levels long for the main game, it can be very challenging at times. Especially with the 10 bonus levels you get from getting a high enough score in the endless mode.

I bought clown town 1443 because the developer was in a random unrelated Twitch stream dropping Steam keys out of nowhere. That kind of guerrilla marketing appealed to me and so I decided to purchase the game instead, and that isn’t just me coping for not being fast enough to snag one of the keys despite how generous the developer was in giving them.

As a big Friday Night Funkin' appreciator I have a soft spot for games that are basically love letters to Flash classics, and this game is very clearly wearing its Trials influences on its sleeve. There’s a bit more to it than just a straight clone, as this game features a bit more depth to its mechanics, such as a heat bar that must be managed. You’re free to bump around generally as much as you want, but if you overheat from too much acceleration you temporarily lose control of your vehicle. Crash in this state, and you’ll have to restart the level again.

Simple game play but fun. Nothing too difficult but will take a few hours to complete. Good time waster on the side.

Hero Express is a simple-to-learn, but difficult to master, arcade-style 2D side-scrolling driving survival game that features 11 different tracks with 11 different vehicles. I had personally played a mobile game with a similar feel a few years ago, and I am happy to have the same type of gameplay on PC with nicely worked pixel graphics and a difficulty curve that allows the most casual players to enjoy the game, while still presenting a challenge to those who consider themselves fairly good at arcade-style games.

I’d recommend this game if you like Getting Over with Bennett Foddy.

It is not as difficult but it puts way more pressure on you as a player, just like a mox ruby underneath a herd of donkeys eating lettuce filled wraps of peanut butter.

When you beat you will glad its over, but instantly nostalgic, just like Zelda 2.

Or some may say, its like stepping on a lego, cutting your foot, on the way to get cookies from the oven, and you drop your cold glass of milk, with shards of glass everywhere, and go head first into an open oven, while realizing you burnt the cookies, only to take a bite of charred chocolate chip. You come back the next day, and play ALT-F4, that is what this game is like. =)

My Grandfather smoked his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, ‘If you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop immediately.’. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what exactly was at stake. He gave it up immediately. Three years later he died of lung cancer. It was really sad and destroyed me. My mother said to me- ‘Don’t ever smoke. Please don’t put your family through what your Grandfather put us through." I agreed. At 28, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a very slight sense of regret for never having done it, because this game gave me cancer anyway.

Car Drive

Car Drive

Ever since the age of 13, I have had a passion for cars that nothing could keep me from. I would watch my dad work on his old ‘61 corvette in the garage, sitting next to him, silently, shining the flashlight where he wanted it, handing him socket wrenches & screwdrivers until whatever problem the car had was fixed. I loved doing this, & my dad was probably the biggest part in my developing passion for cars.

At the age of 16, when I got my drivers license, me & my dad spent hours looking for the perfect project car for us, that I could drive to school & work on in my spare time. After months of looking, we found the perfect car for me: An ‘83 fox body Mustang GT 5.0. It had been wrecked, we got it from a private seller & I spent all of the money I had been saving for years on it. Me & my dad had it towed home, & got it running later that afternoon without much trouble.

So you’ve read the description and now you’re down here in the comments trying to figure out what’s it all about. Click the video above to see some of the gameplay, mechanic and hear my thoughts on the game.

Car Drive is a simplistic game. There’s no abundance of mechanics, gimmicks or systems that you need to master to be good at the game. You simple drive and adjust your pitch when needed to avoid flopping over like a turtle on their back. The graphics are minimalist, the music is banging and controls are spot on. I highly recommend Car Drive based on the price and the amount enjoyment I got out of it. Try it for yourself, see how far the drive can take you.

There’s… not much to the game right now, really. Story mode has two levels which are extremely short, and there’s an endless mode as well as a hell (hard) mode.

Your guy walks forward, you build ramps as he goes, or you destroy the ramps with lasers if you don’t need them.

Gameplay feels a bit clunky, I think being able to stay zoomed out while playing would help. I would prefer the guy to be a bit faster, but gravity a bit lighter (less realistic).

Sound and music are decent, and graphics are pretty good. Game also lags a bit, probably needs to be optimized.

An innovative platformer/runner from an indie dev. It’s fun and hard - each level ramps up the difficulty and throws some new obstacles at you. I love the aesthetics - the scenery, lighting and soundtrack set up a cool vibe.

A fun neon endless runner. As you progress more mechanics get introduced and the levels become trickier - and as you fall behind things get more chaotic and difficult!

Huge fan of the cyber neon graphic style.

Control him well and keep him alive.

He lives by the following rules.

When he breathes oxygen, he enters his initial state.

When he breathes hydrogen, he becomes lighter.

When he drinks water, he feels well enough to climb a hill.

Carbon monoxide is a poison to him.

Nitrogen monoxide is poisonous to him.

When he touches gold, he can survive.

No reflexes are required for this game.

However, it does require calm judgment and a little knowledge of chemistry.

To be honest, I only bought this game to help my own. Immediately after watching your player jump in the trailer I knew this would be a bad game. Because of this, I decided to purchase it in hopes of finding out what not to do in my game. I was not disappointed. 1. You can’t give minimal effort to your movement mechanics. Movement is highly important in a Platformer game, and your movement is frustrating to say the least. When you jump you feel as if you had no control over where its landing, and when you move its almost as if your on ice. I don’t know if this was a game design choice but if so it was a terrible one. 2. Your using the same collision shape you uses to detect spikes/bullets etc to wall jump. This is what I assume a former bug turned into a “Game Mechanic”. Don’t do that. I use to have that but then ultimately decided (Thankfully) to patch it as it was extremely unpolished and overall just hurt the game. 3. No Saving. Self Explanatory. Ultimately I’m going to refund it
