Mindless Running

Mindless Runner in a really hard and frustrating endless runner where most of the jumps has to be pixel perfect.

I am personnally a huge Endless Runner player, but this one was something else..

It took me around 2 hours to complete and it was a real pain in the arse.

The game is also filled with bugs of every kinds. For example: There’s a level in the endless run mode that transformed me into the pig character several times. Or that when I die, I somehow return to the character selection screen. There was also that weird thing that happened to me two times; when I select the story mode option, it asks me in which language I want to play the story mode, but at first I couldn’t choose the English language, I was forced to play the first chapters in Russian.

If you thought Geometry Dash was hard…..think again. This game is hard but satisfying. I nearly broke my controller on several occasions playing in free mode.

Thoughts.

The game for it’s price is well worth it, it gives you the choice of playing in free mode or in story mode.

In freemode you play for points in an endless level which is quite difficult, everytime you die you respawn in a different level, this gives freemode some variety.

In storymode you have to find the character’s grandma through different worlds. 5 levels(I think) which all have a unique “HARD” obstacle which will probably require a few tries to perfect.

Coffee Run

What can I say, about Coffee Run. Coffee Run is a game that goes beyond what one might expect from a game. Generally, one expects level progression, an actual ‘goal’, and ‘gameplay’. This game does not have any of this, which to a more inexperienced player would seem like a negative thing. But, this is how the game developer decided to tell his narrative.

Now, if you have already played this game you would most likely be asking, “But how does this game have anything resembling a ‘narrative’?” Well, you are looking for the wrong things. The player character is a man in his 20s or 30s who can’t stop running, and what keeps him going, coffee. This basic premise tells us something about him. That he needs to keep running, but why? Well, he needs to collect more coins so that he can purchase the things he needs to survive. Here, the game functions as a metaphor for late-stage capitalism.

Coffee Run, a title that will not only be remembered for the exemplary graphics and music enhancements, but the message behind the run.

The protaganist (will not presume it is a man, it is 2017 afterall) is galloping through the streets in order to get his fix-of-jo. The cars travel backwards-and this is done intetionally. Society has this “backwards” thinking that we should be getting coffee and rushing to where we should be. Meanwhile in the ancient middle east (before the ooolalalala jihadi johns) the turks and arabs and even the dirty persians all went to coffeehouses to rewind and enjoy not only the coffee, but the company of others.

Go on an adventure trip with the cow bull Hans. Make cows all over the world happy with him. Your journey leads you from Europe via the Wild West to Egypt. Each of these worlds offers several levels that you can unlock with coins.

How can you collect coins? Simply delight as many cows as you can. Of course it is not as easy as it sounds.

In each world there are different enemies waiting for you, which will make life difficult for you and Hans. Besides, you only have limited time to make as many cows as possible happy. But in the levels, from time to time some useful items will appear that will help you to become even better. But be careful, they only appear for a short time, so hurry up. Among the items are a blue pill that makes the happiness faster or a mushroom that makes you run faster, as well as a heart to get a life back.

You want to know how good you are compared to others? No problem, with the built-in leaderboards you can compare your performance after each level directly with the others.

This game is different, I like the parkours within a specific time. You´ll need skills and patience, retry a level and you will clear it. It´s not an impossible game to finish. The developer still provide you with new levels.

Overall review:

The game is hilariously fun. All the level play out very differently and remain unique. The music is very up-beat which really suits the game and forms an energectic motivation to keep playing. The animations are very wacky which creates some laughable moments.

Nevertheless this game is very rough around the edges and the controles create a very high skill sealing because they are hard to get grib at. (I’d recon the developers did this on purpose to get the most challenging out of their game ;) )

This Game is Crap is a 2D jump and run comedy game that contains a lot of drops to deceive the player. It currently contains ten levels (more are planned) and impresses less with gamplay than with funny ideas. It is ideal to fool friends and good for playing in between.
