Sacrifice

Sacrifice

This is my favourite game of all time, and it’s not just a nostalgic feeling, I still play with this masterpiece. It has a magical athmosphere you cannot find elsewhere, the story, the characters are so well written that I know nearly all quests by heart, yet I still replay them ‘just one more time’ when I get the mood for it.

The story is about a banished wizard, who enters a new realm of magical floating islands that are controlled by five gods, who constantly fight each other for justice, dominance or just fun. All gods control a sphere of natural energies which are earth, fire, air, life and death. You can choose one patron god on every level to do quests for them, and in return you get new spells to cast and creatures to summon from the chosen god’s sphere. Keep in mind though, that if you serve the dark powers, you will soon lose the favor of the benelovent gods and vice versa, so choosing sides has limits according to your previous choices. All the gods have an interesting character that can always surprise you, as the good guys can become quite warlike, the bad guys may become just scared, the smart guys can act foolish and the simple guys quite resourceful, so everything and everyone turns out to be quite different than as they seemed at first.

A old cult classic. Very interesting combination of a 3rd person RTS with RPG elements for its time.

You control a your own playable character - a wizard - directly in movements with the WASD keys and you can summon creatures that you can order around by clicking on terrain or enemies much like a RTS.

Of course that isn’t the only commands you can give. They can also move in different formations or guard different objectives ranging from yourself to other creatures to buildings.

There are basically 2 resources in the game. Mana and souls.

A Strategy Board Game Like No Other

The rolling hills of the battlefield lay before you as you carefully move your units into position. The clock is ticking, and the enemy is already attacking the vulnerable city near the center of the board with bomber units. Will you pull off your attack and annihilate the enemy? Or will you be outsmarted by your cunning opponent?

From the studio that created the Harpoon series comes this unique real-time strategy game set on a surreal tile-based board game battlefield. Wage war over three eras of combat: Clash swords and loose arrows in Medieval style, roll tanks and march infantry to victory in the Great War setting, and take to the skies with aerial units in the Contemporary mode. Each battle setting has its own unique set of pre-arranged battle scenarios to test your ability to use each unit’s strengths to your advantage, and to guard against their weaknesses. Put your strategic abilities to the ultimate test!

  • Engage your opponent in a game that looks like Chess, but plays like a real-time strategy game with individual unit stats, projectile attacks, and the ability to move multiple pieces simultaneously.

  • Gain the advantage by adjusting your view of the battlefield between a 3D angle and an overhead tactical perspective. Zoom in and out, and pan the camera around the battlefield to find and engage your enemy.

  • Play against the computer in 35 designed scenarios, or compete against a friend in the local two player versus mode.

Note: Original network multiplayer modes are included but, due to the age of this title, not supported for this release.

FATAL ERROR - RTS

FATAL ERROR - RTS

We see few rts games being created recently, just new versions of the old ones. Fatal Error came as an excellent surprise for the genre with a unique model and amazing themed. Something I missed was the opposing player’s score to be able to position himself and know what the situation is.

Anyway congratulations on the excellent work!

The game is fun and reminds me of old times rts game, specially the OG C&C game. The game has many levels to play and many units to make after each lv. Its even has the lv where you start without any base but only few defensive n offensive units. The only think thats need improvement i can see is the unit movements. Its a bit sketchy but not that bad.

It Stares Back

It Stares Back

First I just want to get it out of the way that

! for no apparent reason at all the store page us calling it 4x which immediately shaves respect points for the dev doing that. It’s my one real criticism which is a minor thing except that words have meaning. You can’t just call things whatever you want. Then other idiots get misinformed until all Steam or GOG becomes a massive dumpster fire and people start not even realizing just how the fuck to make games anymore with enough misinformation. So, it’s a casual RTS, or RTS-lite. It has nothing whatsoever to do with 4x in the slightest and it bothers me maybe even less than confuses me how the hell a game dev could make that much of a mistake without doing it on purpose

Was introduced to It Stares Back through the Reddit post they made to advertise it, and instantly fell in love with the artstyle of this game, and was enamoured by the lore weaving together the world it’s based in. Cosmic horror, biopunk, and post apocalyptica seamlessly weave together to form the world of the Great Tapestry, a grotesquely beautiful hellscape beset by a ravenous, deafening, void. As the Noble Guide, you are tasked with ripping the souls of long dead soldiers from the earth to fight it back.

You are a collective microorganic alien intelligence.

You used to be the dominant species of a whole planet, but you had to leave your home since then.

Having spent many long years in space, you’ve finally landed on a habitable planet. You are to revive your “empire” and become small, yet great, once again.

A relaxing strategy game featuring unconventional gameplay. Your objectives include development, evolution, border expansion and protection of your hive.

World map:

The game takes place on a world map, split into locations. Everything is fully real-time. Opponents capture more land area, compete with each other, extract resources and develop said areas.

Environment:

All locations have particular environmental conditions. Organisms may freeze or overheat. They may mutate due to radiation or receive bonuses from alkaline or acidic environments.

Acclimatize your organisms to certain environmental conditions in the incubator.

You are able to terraform your lands, creating extreme environments - beneficial to your organisms, yet deadly to your opponents.

Extract resources, erect “buildings”, capture and defend land areas on the global map.

You can also feed your organisms, much like fish:)
