Swarm the City: Zombie Evolved

Swarm the City: Zombie Evolved

I have mixed feelings about this game. While I enjoy’d the gameplay, the game is not completely finished. There is a final chapter that doesn’t unlock, and it really bums you out. Like wtf? It leaves you feeling like you haven’t really beat the game. There’s no congratulation, no finally.. You’re left unable to get legendary parts for upgrades, cause they’re locked behind unreachable levels I guess..? I dunno. It’s rude to charge $15 for a game that isn’t even finished.

For now I am down voting because that is rude on the devs part to release an unfinished game. If the game is finished I will likely change my rating.

I just kept repeating the process of summoning and dying!!! It’s a lot of fun

At the beginning, the game is kinda easy, but it gets hard once you reach chapter 3, and that’s where strategy is needed. Strategy matters a lot, you have to actually think before you start taking actions. It might still be possible that you keep dying unless you are a hardcore rts player.

Even that, Swarm the City is still good for rts starters. The pause function in the game will make it easier for those new rts players to take a break and think about the next move.

Atom Zombie Smasher

Atom Zombie Smasher

Atom Zombie Smasher is a super little indie strategy game. The basic premise is that you take on the guise of a commander holding back the zombie hordes from overruning your city.

It works on two levels; first is the strategy where a map of the city districts is where you see the progress of zombie infestations and plan your next mission. You can choose which military assets you take with you from: infantry, snipers, mines, demolitions, barricades, gas attracting teams or artillery. Once you initiate the mission, the game changes to a tactical sub-game where you place your units on the map to best protect the civilians you are trying to extract from the map, while avoiding collateral damage. To many dead civilians and you fail.

There’s alot to be said about Atom Zombie Smasher. the game is an amazing mix of challenging gameplay and challenges.

Atom zombie smasher does not hesitate to put you smack dab into action, your first challenge becomes to rescue some civilians from an impending zombie invasion which sets the tone for the rest of the game.

As you progress in the game you’re provided with varying mercenaries that randomly get picked for missions. Some examples of mercenaries are for example ranger teams, snipers and dynamite teams. Each map will provide a different challenge which requires alot of tactical thinking and planning.

Micro Annihilation

Micro Annihilation

Game was just released, but there is already enough content that you can play for few hours. It is interesting mix of XCOM / C&C.

While playing the game you find out how it would be if you would be the size of the ant and you have to survive the onslaught of insects. Sometimes it feels like zombie apocalypse but that there are ants instead of zombies.

You can contact developer on Discord and he will listen to your opinions and try to integrate them in his game. There is normally just few days between updates, so update interval is really short.

This game takes me back to nostalgic days of Starcraft and Total Annihilation. Only now my units don’t always need me to babysit them to defend themselves. The conceit is fun, tiny people versus mutant bugs, and the gameplay is rather intuitive. I’m really enjoying myself :)

Due to the recent update the PC version of this game has been absolutely murdered by it. Passive skills were removed, which means that your units will be slower, weaker, and your morale will drop faster and you will have slower upgrades than mobile.

Passive upgrades provide an insane advantage and are absolutely necessary to be allowed for the PC platform, which the mobile version has. Without them a player will always be behind and will very likely lose 90% of their matches against competent mobile players, especially in the higher rated matches.

600 hours into the game so believe me I am FFFFFFFFF at the most recent update.

  1. passive upgrade remove FOR STEAM USERS ONLY!! Remember this… Mobile users are FREE-TO-PLAY while steam user has to BOUGHT the game to play. So.. you are paying for a game with less content compared to mobile players.

  2. New loading screen. Much wow. Such inspiring… then menu screen has this “TRY THIS GAME ON MOBILE!!” like WTF dev!?

2.5) Also, added to note: Steam user when play on mobile you do not carry over your steam progress. you are forced to start over.

Pretty fun game to play when sometimes bored. I love Russian/Soviet genres like this game.

I’ve enjoyed it so far but there is some room to improve. Can be a bit difficult to figure out at first, but I liked the graphic style and the gameplay. I’m looking forward to the next update to this game. Some feedback:

For some reason, I can’t upgrade my power plant beyond the coal plant, which becomes a problem late game. Also, the housing should be better balanced, because another late game issue is that you’re constantly building Stalinkas. Maybe there could be another type of housing that’s even larger than the Stalinka.

Nomad Fleet

Nomad Fleet

Easily the best ten bucks I have ever spent.

It’s a simple enough concept - get your mother ship from over here on the galactic map… to over there… through hostile space.

The galactic map is made up of randomly generated tiles at the beginning of each new game. Most of the time you don’t know what you’re getting yourself into when you enter a sector. Sometimes you find a nice little debris field. After you wipe out a few enemies, you can sit back and relax with a nice cup of tea as your harvesters gather up the resources.

Real player with 43.7 hrs in game

Good game so far with potential for more. As many have pointed out its a cross between Homeworld and FTL.

Things that will really make this game shine is fleshing out the ships better. While you have many to build most feel .. lacking and without a uniqueness. In the end it becomes just a build quick and toss em at the enemy styled game. Much similiar to the tank rush tactics of the Command and Conquer Series.

The individual systems end up being repetitive. Within a few battles as you jump around the map you can tell upon landing what scenario it chose for you. The Randomness is also missing in these scenarios. You wind up ahead of time knowing where the enemy will jump into and having pilots and caps positioned at each point and waiting.

An expansive range of unique units, weapons, and special abilities are at the disposal of M.I. commanders. Infantry squads armed with Morita Assault Rifles and MX-90 Fragmentation Grenades form the mainstay of your forces. Rocket Troopers deliver deadly payloads with pin-point accuracy while Engineers are vital to shore up defensive positions with MG turrets, barricades, and minefields. As a campaign progresses, technological breakthroughs unlock the true potential of the Federation’s arsenal with E-Pulse rifles, TAC Fighter airstrikes, heavily armed Marauder mechs, and many more developments optimized for spraying Bug ichor across the battlefield.

Key features
