Battle Bugs
Game of my childhood. Still very good in 2021, a bit too easy, but super fun to play. And the idea of you being a general of an army of insects fighting another army of insects for cakes and pizza that some guy forgot on his dining table is very cool.
Game is made with a lot of attention to details wchich is common for 90’s games. Every insect has it’s own abilities and powers but also it’s own animations for moving, attacking, dying etc. There is plenty of humor here, it is not the top class humor, but it’s okay considering how old the game is. Overall very addictive and fun, I am so happy to play it again. If you are an old gamer and want to show somebody what games looked like in 90-s this is a good example of it.

Definitely bought this for the nostalgia. Its a great game though. Starts out really easy so you can understand the basic concepts then starts to get more challenging. Good game for a child to get an idea of how older games used to be. Its got childish humor and cartoon graphics and it will help build critical thinking skills without being overly complicated. You have to use the manual in additional content section in steam to get past the start screen guard rhinobugs.

End War RTS
Very well done game, this game is better then most of the new rts games i have been able to find out there, not bad at all keep up the good work. I still dream of a future were RTS games become popular again, and i support any game that has the feel of what a true rts is all about.

while many rts games no longer use the c&c style which is a classic time, the game still needs more content like a lot more since currently it is bare bones.

Protolife
As a fan of both strategy games and tower defense, I can safely say that I had fun playing Protolife and would recommend the game to anyone who is a fan of an unorthodox twist to tower defense and, more specifically, turtling or turret-creeping in strategy games.
Note: I have completed the main campaign and have dived a bit into the postgame content. Anything I discover in the New Game+ and/or the Experiments (randomly generated scenarios) will be added at later times.
Gameplay: 8/10

Probably the best way to know if you’ll like Protolife is if you liked Creeper World or Infested Planet… and you don’t mind a control scheme which has no mouse input.
To be clear, there is nothing “wrong” with the control scheme, and I have played it on a keyboard as well as with an Xbox controller, but it’s a uncommon to find a game these days with no mouse input so that seems to be a deal breaker for some people. If you’re using a controller, I strongly recommend the D-pad rather than the joystick, because the game works on a grid and the digital input of the D-pad matches that much better than an analog stick.

Tooth and Tail
DISCLAIMER: I’m meanwhile making official updates to this game, so I’m certainly biased. I wrote this review long before, however (when I didn’t even remotely expect to ever be a dev for this game), so I believe there’s nothing wrong about leaving it up.
I would not have expected Tooth and Tail to be the strategy game I wanted, but it is. Here’s why.
Most important points you might not know about, yet:
(The singleplayer campaign is cool, but I’ll mainly write about what makes multiplayer excel.)

Tooth and Tail is the game that I’ve played for long enough time. Pretty sure that the first game I pre-purchased on Steam. And it was pretty much the game that pushed me towards the purchase of the new GPU, believe it or not.
Since today’s the first day of the new year, - a Year of the Rat, no less - I decided to share my thoughts about this rodent civil war strategy game, in the form of rapid-fire review.
I haven’t touched the game for a long time, and I get it that some things have changed, so feel free to take my words with a grain of salt.

TowerMancer
TL;DR - Great game, worth cost, cute story, addictive.
I played the Demo before the game came out. I knew it was a good game because I couldn’t get it out of my head and checked almost daily to see if it was officially out yet.
The full game is just as addictive as I’d hoped. I’m well versed in these types of management games and was happy that there was a good challenge for me when I wanted it. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys management games.

It wasn’t that bad. Quite a challenge to pass your free time but kinda repetitive if aiming to get all achievements.
It’s drag and drop games, kinda clunky at times. To save time and distance, play on a small resolution window mode (but font will be extremely small).
Sometimes the game kinda unresponsive (boss not initiating next action) but it’s very rare.
Tips: Thieves can be bypassed by putting imps with materials on the room before clicking/initiating repair. They will repair before the thieves can steal the materials.

8-Bit Hordes
I am not recommending this game even though there is nothing particularly bad about it and it has some good aspects. I am only interested in the story campaign so I am probably a bit unusual for this type of game. One of the major reasons I am not recommending it because that aspect of the game is lacking. The story consists of one paragraph to read per mission. Nothing else. The objectives are not particularly fun either. Every mission is divided into three types of objectives: bronze, silver and gold. Bronze is required to win and you get more rewards for completing each objective type you complete. Once earned they never go away so they are very helpful, maybe even necessary to completing the harder missions later. It was all a bit too much of a formula and too dry for me.

DARKKi’s Dark Star Reviews - 8-Bit Hordes
Petroglyph (which members created original Command & Conquer among other classic RTS’s and new ones like Grey Goo ) strikes again after the success of 8-Bit Armies with great 8-Bit Hordes!
This time we go into fantasy theme in vein of Warcraft instead of modern combat. It is basic Orcs versus Humans settings with “simple” gameplay without all the gimmicks modern RTS’s use. Both races have their own campaign with 24 missions (and you can also play co-op which has 12 missions among with Skirmish and Multiplayer (up to eight players). If you also own 8-Bit armies your factions and maps can be used in both games which is really nice and exotic touch! Also worth mentioning is that tutorial / help in this game is amazingly done. Tutorial shows you the basics and then there is “help” menu where everything is explained and also you can view videos for everything and also shows what units / building need to be built in order to build something more advanced. Units behave rock, paper & scissors style. And with mouseover with units it tells what it is good for so GUI / UI is top notch.

Amoeba Battle: Microscopic RTS Action
Personal review
Much better than the DS version. I love the bouncing mission visuals. There’s finally a choice of difficulty for the campaign, but some of the missions seem nearly impossible on brutal. As far as I can tell, the only difference between difficulties is the AI damage is insanely boosted. And my locust gets easily 2-shot by sharks. I’m not a fan of battle royals, but this was better than I thought it would be. Interesting upgrades that you don’t see in the campaign, but still improves the battle royal. Over 50 different tastefully colored amoebas. Overall, better improvement from the DS version. I hope more content will be added in the future.

The funniest RTS I’ve seen in my life.
It’s a pure joy to see and control this cute little amoebas. Clearly, developers put all of their heart into this beautiful game. In my opinion, this is a wonderful example of a polished game. Game mechanics are well-thought and balanced. It has a lot of strategical depth. It becomes the most clear when trying to beat the campaign on the last difficulty =D
Sadly, the game didn’t get the attention it deserves, so right now playerbase is pretty low. But It took me about 30 hours to beat the campaign on the last difficulty (which is great by the way) and get all the achievements (they are great too), and I haven’t event touched skirmish mode and Outbreak vs AI, so there is really a lot to do here even without multiplayer.

Death Crown
This is a simple, yet fast paced, game that takes me back to retro game vibes.
The main thing that pulled me in was the style of cut-scenes.
The graphics, while all 2-D pixelated, are quite enticing.
The artwork is dark medieval, and the color schemes are variable.
You beat levels to earn diamonds, to spend on upgrades.
You can upgrade gold mines, defense towers, or troop barracks.
Gold mines earn gold, towers turret intruders, barracks spawn your army.
You place the three buildings across the grid, strategically, to gain territory.

I was on the edge fist, but this is actually an awesome space & resource centric RTS–the famous Z by the Bitmap Brothers comes to mind–but Death Crown is much more minimalistic.
The in-game graphics are unusual but cool looking, however, at times it’s a difficult to see certain things in the heat of the battle (esp. in the human campaign DLC which features a lot more terrain types).
It takes some time figuring out the minute details of the simple but not really intuitive controls but this is part of the game, I think. I really like the music (which is rare) and the black-and-white line art cut scenes. However, the story is a bit vague, and only shown not told.

End War RTS 2
Compared with the first generation, End War RTS 2 transforms from 2D to 3D, which is a classic real-time strategy
End War RTS 2 is a story inspired by modern science fiction. It is mainly based on the fact that human beings started the world war in order to fight for survival resources, and the launching of nuclear bombs has become the killing means of various countries.
In the world of End War RTS 2, it is constructed by seven camps of the United States, France, Britain, Germany, Russia, Cuba and Libya. Each country’s power weapon units are different, and the U.S. space carrier, Russian missile submarine and other characteristics

Pretty fun game to play when sometimes bored. I love Russian/Soviet genres like this game.

I’ve enjoyed it so far but there is some room to improve. Can be a bit difficult to figure out at first, but I liked the graphic style and the gameplay. I’m looking forward to the next update to this game. Some feedback:
For some reason, I can’t upgrade my power plant beyond the coal plant, which becomes a problem late game. Also, the housing should be better balanced, because another late game issue is that you’re constantly building Stalinkas. Maybe there could be another type of housing that’s even larger than the Stalinka.
