This game was incredible. I have always harbored a love for rpg maker games and CTB takes me right back to the early days of Ib and Mad Father. There is an abundance of things I enjoyed with this game, so for clarity sake, I’ll bullet them below:
- Artwork: The in game sprites fit the surrounding area. No colors break the scenes palette and are to scale (which can be a lot to ask with some games like this). The original artwork and character dialogue plates present a style that is both familiar and unique, something smooth to look at put against the harsh nature of the haunted manor. I adored the different cycles of expressions our MC can go through, their eyes in particular were adept at conveying the horror of her situation.

Maze Banquet
An interesting story about guests coming to diner, and fighting to become king. The atmosphere is dark and spooky - the writing is entertaining and the gameplay is full of engaging puzzles. Mysterious

Typical Cliche
Overall: Despite being a ‘Typical Cliche.’ I actually really liked this game. The translation was a bit off, however I spent way too long on this game and found a few glitches to make some parts of it easier. It’s free, so why not?
Recommended for RPG maker fans, and anyone who’s bored and wants something interesting to play.

Black Chapter
I did like this game quite a bit. 7/10 if I had to put a number on it. 8/10 if it were longer. The game does a fair job of making you like most of the characters at least a bit. The story is interesting enough, and does a good job keeping you guessing as to what is going on in the big picture. I think the only real flaw I can think of is more of a game design pet peeve. The ending you get is largely, if not entirely dependent on your final decision. I like it a lot more when choices throughout the game determine the ending, rather that the final scene being the game changing moment for the whole story. Still though, it’s a good game, creepy enough, fun to play, good story. Would recommend.

Really fun game, clever puzzles without being frustrating or way too easy (looking at you skyrim) a whodunit kind of plot with Phoenix Wright/Danganroppa style interludes in between puzzle sections, did scare me quite a few times and the overwall plot of what happened in the monastery in the past and how it relates to what is happening now i really enjoyed.
Its Fairly short ate around 2:30ish hours depending on how well you do with the puzzles but its well made,no boring padding and barely any backtracking trough previous areas, maps feel cleverly designed with its connection to previously visited areas trough new entrances,it is a simple game but a very well made one, highly recommend

Diary of Lucie

This game really reminded me of the old games on the gameboy advance.
The tutorial itself is kinda clunky and I found myself scratching my head figuring out what to do next so Im am going to placed the steps here in case anyone gets stuck.

- Enter the Left Room and push the bottom crate (it is a chair btw) forward (to the left) to open the chest with a key* Enter the Right Room and once your ignore the 4 chairs surrounding the table and go far right and open the chest with the pendent.

Currently playing the game and just have joined this project as a betatester.
I play the German version of the game and compared to another betatest this game has really few gamebreaking bugs.
Image and sound bugs can easily circumvented by copying a similar named file, pasting and renaming it in the same folder. For the current version I only had to do this twice!
But there are many, many passability gliches, mostly in the forests and hills with different planes.
The riddles are really innovative and medium to hard to solve. Their difficulty increases during the game.

Silver Creek Falls: Chapter 2
This one suffers from the same problems as the first game, only this one costs money. I would only recommend it on sale, and if you want to see where the story ends up (Spoiler alert: I finished Walsingham Files - Chapter 2 and you STILL don’t have any sort of good sense of ‘things are wrapped up’)
Also, the dev has a serious thing for solving the puzzles with obscure facts (mostly military) that you need to research OUTSIDE the game for. This is prevalent in the entire series. The cipher puzzle is also so poorly explained it took a Math teacher to help us and even he was scratching his head a bit. It was a decent puzzle, but the explanation was so out there, it made it HARDER to solve.

TL;DR: Mystery crime adventure is a decent sequel to Chapter 1 but lacks focus.
I’ll keep this as spoiler-free as possible.
Chapter 2 starts where the free-to-play Chapter 1 (my review here ) ends: mysteries of murder and disappearances abound at Silver Creek Falls. Sara Fitzgerald gets reassigned to the case, this time with a laid-back FBI Special Agent Valdez.

Wait - Extended
I absolutely love this game.
When I got this, I was not expecting what it handed me. What I thought would be a short, easy-to-see-coming mind twist ended up being something so much more than that. I was so involved in this game that I got a friend of mine to play with me and try to figure out the puzzles and craft theories before I reached the end.
The mechanics are unique and the puzzles actually make you think. (There was one that I had to come to the Community Guidelines to figure out which I’ll touch base on further down to avoid spoilers.)

Okay, this game is pretty hard to review. I can understand both the previous good and bad reviews. For starters, this game has five “invocations”, which are sort of playthroughs, but each playthrough is different (even though they start the same and have some similarities). When I finished the first invocation, I was really liking the game. However, after the second one, I started to see some problems. These problems are a bit specific, and some people may not be interested in reading them. If you are one of them, skip the next paragraph, and continue on to read other less specific thoughts I had on the game. But before going into detail, I have to say, this game has a really good atmosphere. It’s quite lovecraftian in nature, with a few easter eggs (but without overdoing it), and it has a great ending. Also, I liked the soundtrack. I wished it had voiceover, that I gotta say. Now, onto the details:

The Lost Art of Innkeeping
My plea for good indie adventures with peaceful exploration and point & click controls* has been heard!
This one combines exploration, combat-free quests, funny NPCs and a mysterious backstory with simulation/management mechanics to let you fix up and develop an Inn (as the name would suggest). There are no elaborate character studies or anything particularly “deep”, it’s all lighthearted and relaxing.
TL;DR: I’d say if you can stand RPG Maker aesthetics for one more game (and can’t be convinced of the even more underappreciated Looking Back ) then let it be this one.

It’s a great little RPG that doesn’t require combat or dungeon-crawling. Your choices matter in this game where you need to save a family manor. You can play in relaxed mode without time constraints or in the challenging mode where time is limited. It completely pulled me in and I had a great time playing it on a weekend when I downloaded it.
Even though I finished it, I came back to play it more because I like it so much! I almost didn’t buy it because I thought it would be boring, but it really pulled me in. It has a nice story and the atmosphere and music make it a relaxing experience. The only thing I didn’t like was that I wasn’t able to figure out how to leave the village to explore. I would really like to see this concept by the developer but maybe where you can go from town to town and help save struggling inns.

Time of the Moon
I played so much fun! TOTM has such a so deep story that makes me interested in their secrets or hidden stuff, and various puzzles combined with the game or the battle systems. The story was impressive in whole game playing. I loved the creator’s effort to make the game from one to ten, so detailed game. I would gladly cheer this game, and I’m waiting for the meeting with ‘Time of the moon 2’ from now on.

Overall good game. Fun puzzles, good combat. negatives are poor translation to English and you lose your items at the end of the chapter
Edit: after a few chapters you finally get to keep items.
