SPACE / MECH / PILOT

SPACE / MECH / PILOT

Relatively short idle game with a cute plot! Recommended with some caveats, described further below.

Pros:

-Cute plot! Very charming

-Unlike many idle games, this one has a well-defined ending if you ignore a certain tedious achievement

-Very short for an idle game (could be a pro or con, depending on the player)

-Free, and there are NO in-app purchases

-Prestige system is unavailable during the main game; it only becomes available when going for the last “post-game” achievement (could be a pro or con, depending on the player)

This is a unique game and I love it. One that’s managed to worm it’s way into my head since I launched it. But to explain why requires too many words, so TL;DR - it’s a free game that does something meaningful with the idle/clicker format.

SPACE / MECH / PILOT tells a story where progression is gated by time. You don’t get to just talk with the main character and move the story along when you want - you have to wait, in real time, for them to call you. No progress is made while the game is closed unlike virtually all idle games, the game has to be running. There’s very little you can do to speed this up by optimising your build, it will probably take ~16 hours to see what would otherwise be a pretty short amount of dialogue. Unlike games which pace their story with missions or distance between locations or side quests, there is nothing to do but wait. So why is this so special in this game?

~~TLDR: The game itself is pretty good but the state of the cash shop has led me to ultimately downvote this game.

This game is definitely better than a vast majority of other garbage clicker games on Steam. Good art, music, UI. The items can be a bit confusing. At least early on the game is pretty generous with handing out chests, so you’ll end up with quite a few weapons. To me at least, it’s very difficult to tell what is good and what is bad. I would like to see some additional way to tell how good a certain item is.~~

So, this review will be a bit long, but it will be a idle game lovers view, and marking all pro’s and con’s I see, with some thoughts on it.

What I would like to begin with is, I had a save issue, after I had drop some $ into the game, and I wrote a message to the email given when I was looking for support. The first response back was amazing. They gave many different ways to try to fix my save file from loading cloud, or finding computer save, etc. They said if I could, they would love to at least have me start from the beginning and they would refund “all” my shards. If I could find a save of me in the 2nd world, they would start me there while refunding all my shards.

I loved to play clicker heroes, but I contacted the developer about 4 to 5 months ago because I had a bug which made it impossible for me to play …

The developer told me that they want to fix the bug as soon as possible, but so far nothing has happened!

This is the same as with the patches announced for months in which not even the bug I mentioned was mentioned as gefixed …

 Conclusion:

do not buy the game, it has so much potential but it looks like it will just be another early acces corpse on steam

The hours I’ve spent staring into the screen, watching Cid plough through endless roads of monsters (with Hilariously animated deaths, when you have time to see it😊) and varying artistic designs every 25 zones as well as creative worlds and Bosses to keep things slightly on the nose and fresh. All the coins in the universe and enough damage to even make Thanos turn to dust has always put a grin on my face. The new wizard offers a whole new pace and set of abilities In the bloody massive skill tree, giving a taste of how diverse and fresh this multiple character idea could be, and yet promise of many more mechanics and features which makes me giddy just thinking about. Review is at the bottom but i wanted to show all the ideas I actually can’t help but advocate to the developers for because the possibilities are off the roof with CH2. But I’m sure there’s a limited amount of things you can do, time wise or financially so I’m just putting my hat in the ring and hoping a seed will grow.

ClickRaid2

Idle Game

Derived from Click Raid which was top down Idle/clicker. To this more modern model version.

You can run it in the background fine!

Upgrade your Stats/Buffs= More Powerful

Good BGM if you are in to that.

There are in-game buffs, You can buy to help increase many different aspects.

All buffs you buy or any buff for that matter affects every player.

Ex. If for say I buy a damage buff to help me out. Everyone gets it. If John Doe buys speed boost increase I will also get it. Everyone gets the buff. So there no pay to win its time based. Everyone helps everyone.

Playing a lot of MMO’s, there tends to be a lot of downtime, so I wanted something to do in the background to keep entertained. I was looking around Steam and came across the page for ClickRaid2. It seemed like an interesting concept, and I liked the large selection of playable classes, so I decided to give it a shot…

I have yet to turn this game off. It runs 24/7 on my PC and I am addicted. It can take a little getting used to if you haven’t played an idle clicker before (don’t expect to have full control of your toon, as it is automated).

The core game itself is still in it’s infancy. Seems the dev has a lot planned in the future. It certainly has a lot of growth potential and I feel like this one is worth keeping an eye on. I’m definitely going to have to jump deeper into this game and see some of the unlocks available etc.. Then of course (after that) waiting for the new content and immediately eating it up :)

This is a review of version 0.012. If there is a later version, this review may no longer be valid.

[Background]

I am reviewing this after the 9th day of playing it, after getting the last unlock available at this time and roughly 5e16 Antimatter. I made a minor update after 0.012 was released. For full disclosure, at the time of this review, I, like everyone else, obtained this game for free.

[Opinion]

This is not a bad idle game for consuming a dozen or three hours over a bit more than a week. However, its main loop isn’t that interesting (unlike, say, Incremental Epic Hero), and there are few choices of any real significance (unlike, say, Underworld Idle). The math in several places seems dubious, as there are direct feedback mechanisms on several of the currencies, and most of the multipliers are not well-limited. Most of the unlocks aren’t that interesting, and at the end, mostly I was waiting for fairly short periods of time to access one or another unlock for my workers. Finally, I am uncertain that the automation actually improves the game, and it seemed strange to be spending a lot of the only prestige currency on gaining tiny bits of automation, one at a time.

Heroes of Havoc: Idle Adventures

Overall

By game overall design one of the best idle incremental game on the market.

For casual semi-afk gameplay fits very well. Pick your heroes, let them gain experience, collect items, upgrade items. All you need for idle-incremental game is available for you. Item stats even give you options to have some RPG perspective on your heroes.

User interface

UI is simple and clean. Everything is easy to find and logically placed.

Well done graphics. The whole theme throughout the game is good. Not too much details and at same time it has enough details. I specially like the choise of colors and overall simplicity in graphics.

I think the “IDLE” in the title is a bit misleading for those of us who are used to thinking of Idle games as something that you can only do so much as everything is on an ever-increasing timer to get things done.

In this game you can play as much as you want, where the “idle” part of the game is in the fact that your heroes keep adventuring even after you turn off the game, and only stop when your inventory is completely filled with loot.

Sure, there are real-world timers in certain campaign modes that can only be done once per day, or the traveling merchant that only replentishes his stock every 6 hours or so, but nothing that actually halts playing.

Knights and Castles

Knights and Castles

I thought this game was decent until I logged out. When I logged back in, all of my progress was gone after 63 hours of play as there is NO save option. And there is NO offline progression, so you gotta grind constantly albeit it can be in the background. And smelting large amounts takes longer than mining, I haven’t found a way to speed up smelting process if there is one. This game needs major improvements.

Even though it has its flaws, this is one of the best idle games I have played!

The story is great, and I like how even small choices change things. Its filled with cliches, and is probably written by someone who doesnt have english as their first language, but still makes it all a bit more entertaining!

There is some bottlenecks and obstacles, but getting over them is very rewarding, even if it takes some patience. You will probably have to be ready to grind at least the first hour/hours of the game because of them.

It’s kind of nice to not get instant gratification, but also I feel like this game is way more just incremental than it is truly idle.

There are a bunch of parts where you just won’t ever really meaningfully progress unless you’re actively playing, and no real way to make a “build” or “playstyle” that will do much to avoid that.

The “habits” system is the only thing I’ve seen so far that I’d call true idle, and even then the diminishing returns set in hard and fast, and many habits are ironically only practical to train past a certain point once you’ve actively played enough to make the idling faster.
